Seems to have been carried out by well known TRA who has threatened violence before: twitter.com/bindelj/status/1136402563379716096

Disgusting.

OvaHere · 06/06/2019 08:37

There was a second female MP who also tweeted support. I forget the name but it was further down in the feed than Diane Abbott.

littlbrowndog · 06/06/2019 08:34

Oh yeah was interviewed and then there was an adenment

Article amendment (3-06-19): This article originally referred to comments Cathy Brennan made on Twitter last year regarding physical action against transphobic protestors

Redshoeblueshoe · 06/06/2019 08:32

Julie FlowersGin

littlbrowndog · 06/06/2019 08:29

Skinny not skinnie

BlackForestCake · 06/06/2019 08:28

No he didn't, he was quoted in it.

littlbrowndog · 06/06/2019 08:27

The man who attacked Julie also wrote a piece for the skinnie mag

littlbrowndog · 06/06/2019 08:25

Yeah Diane abbot tweeted support on Julie’s timeline

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 06/06/2019 08:24

Excellent to see a public message of support for Julie on Twitter from Diane Abbott

For real TERFApparently? Big news if true. Could you screen shot? (Twitter gives me the heebie jeebies)

TheRedBarrows · 06/06/2019 08:24

I hope this person will be reported to their employer, Time Out , fo example....

KatnissEverbeen · 06/06/2019 08:22

Violence against women in the name of progress... how male. Solidarity with Julie.

TheRedBarrows · 06/06/2019 08:17

Yeah it seems the person who attacked JB took the name of a person they hated.

Just joining up threads on this topic. I am so glad it was recorded but awful to have to take precautions like filming just to be able to speak to other women. This person’s* terrifying behaviour was completely unacceptable.

(*Trying not to get deleted by guidelines for specifying the obvious fact of the sex of either of these two people, while knowing that their sex is fundamentally relevant and pivotal here, MNHQ)

JessicaWakefieldSV · 06/06/2019 08:01

I’m glad Julie wasn’t seriously hurt, Flowers

Now let’s see if anyone reports this in the media. If it was the other way round, they absolutely would.

Brennan is a thug.

littlbrowndog · 06/06/2019 08:00

Yeah Sarah. He nicked Cathy Brennan name

He is a guy who thinks the trans gender stuff has given him a way to show his anger towards women

I read his twitter feed last night. Was disturbing

BlooperReel · 06/06/2019 07:59

Press charges against this MAN Julie. Utterly disgraceful and any TRA or 'trans ally' defending this, go fuck yourself.

MenstruatorExtraordinaire · 06/06/2019 07:59

www.bustle.com/articles/7277-cathy-brennan-speaks-to-bustle-about-her-stance-on-transgender-people

I saw this on Twitter last night. Of course her name has been appropriated just like everything else

TheRedBarrows · 06/06/2019 07:58

SarahJane: this Cathy Brennan is a minor film critic Twitter handle @ TownTattle .

Maybe took the name to troll the other Brennan, not sure.

TheRedBarrows · 06/06/2019 07:54

Cathy Brennan’s Twitter is now private to followers so they clearly feel vulnerable.

Good.

Clearly thought they would be hailed a hero til reality hit.

Glad there are screen shots.

It sounds like Julie filmed the attack so that should be interesting.

TemporaryPermanent · 06/06/2019 07:48

Always happy to shame femininity but particularly so if being feminine now means physically attacking people. Which I don't recall from the Chalet School books. Press charges Julie.

Outanabout · 06/06/2019 07:46

The ludicrous entitlement of an aggressor assuring people "I'm safe" ! And the ludicrous entitlement of other people talking about ACTUAL adult human females 'shaming other women'. It's so frustrating that we can't even tell the actual truth about a person with a beard
