Why are women being guilt tripped into looking after mens testicles?

Just saw this advert. I am quite irked. Women are constantly getting pressure for smears, mammograms, and we should check our boob regularly or we will DIE and it will be our own fault.

Why are are we now also getting guilt tripped into taking responsibility for mens testicles?

Surely most men play with their wangs enough to spot changes. How about they grow up and go to the doctor themselves, without needing mummy to sort it for them?

I doubt very much there are ads in mens loos asking them to check their partners boobs and nag them to go to the doctor if something changes.

And let's not even mention that the poster is pink.

Seriously. Just Angry

Why are women being guilt tripped into looking after mens testicles?

I have also seen health messages in clinical settings like GP surgeries and hospitals

Yes ive seen that

Our surgery had that beaver/diva poster. Lots of people over 50 so im not sure t many people knew what a beaver is. And not being American either

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 05/06/2019 22:33

I only have anecdotes myself

dwatsuts · 05/06/2019 22:33

Which plonker from another thread recently was saying MRA ideology was the same as feminist theory

Who said that? I didn't say that.

I said MRAs and GC feminists are both critical of transgenderism (for want of a better word), and that the transgender movement has absolutely 0 to do with MRAs. Go and read the thread again.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 05/06/2019 22:33

Is this thread on FWR

Cos they like their evidence ...actual evidence

Popchyk · 05/06/2019 22:33

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 05/06/2019 22:32

No they mean actual evidence

Written down

From an actual professional

(Personally it makes sense that it would make a difference)

dwatsuts · 05/06/2019 22:30

I would like to see the research evidence that shows that women (or men) checking their partners testicles on a monthly basis either increases early detection or reduces mortality from testicular cancer.

The evidence is that more frequent checking of balls leads to earlier detection.

TheVanguardSix · 05/06/2019 22:28

As an aside, I recently had surgery, so I couldn't do the school run for a few weeks and man alive, you'd think my husband had split the atom.
Grin Grin Grin

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 05/06/2019 22:27

lang

There was a recent poster taking about about FWR regulars looking at incel/MRA boards

Was that the thread you are talking about

LangCleg · 05/06/2019 22:25

Which plonker from another thread recently was saying MRA ideology was the same as feminist theory and we foolish witchy women would know that if we'd done our due diligence and reported for duty observing MRA fora?

Cos can I just say to them: What would be the point? They splatter this board, that supposedly for feminists, every single fucking day. We can't miss the fuckers even if we try.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 05/06/2019 22:24

You’d think checking would make a difference

Ive no idea of the stats..but it makes sense

SimplySteveRedux · 05/06/2019 22:22

I know this is anecdotal, a few years ago my GPs surgery had a campaign on their big screens that early detection reduces the mortality rate by a massive amount (like prostate cancer), as both have very few early symptoms, a lump being most common. My GP is brilliant at having targeted campaigns though, both for men and women. Current one is for smears.

LangCleg · 05/06/2019 22:19

What's truly cringe-inducing is that I'm a guy who has never had a relationship, and yet, I seem to have a better understanding of this issue than many people in this thread.

There's a lesson in there somewhere love.

Otherwise this campaign is just a load of balls!

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 05/06/2019 22:07

You also wouldn’t notice logic if it smacked you round the head

But i still hope you find someone lovely

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 05/06/2019 22:06

And you win the prize for squeezing the most ‘gender’ into a paragraph

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 05/06/2019 22:06

You’re funny dwatsuts

I hope you find someone who loves you very very much Smile

Something in a ladies loo is aimed at women

As I explained in my previous post, plenty of gender-neutral adverts are placed in gender-specific toilets.

For example...tampax machine, im betting you've not spotted that in the gents.

Sometimes gender-specific items are placed in gender-specific toilets. This does not mean that gender-neutral adverts are never placed in gender-specific toilets, and implying otherwise is a logical fallacy. The advert is gender-neutral because while the ball-haver is definitely male ("his" balls), the gender of the person doing the checking is ambiguous.

I am a little surprised that you feel because I believe that dh is perfectly capable of checking his own balls that i should divorce him

Why can't you help DH with his health too, and why can't he help you with your health?

If I ever have a relationship, I will be sure to do whatever I can to help her... you know, something a normal partner would do.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 05/06/2019 21:49

Being in the ladies loo absolutely means its aimed at women

YOU missed the fact that it was in a ladies loo...fess up, its not a problem, i had to check

Something in a ladies loo is aimed at women

For example...tampax machine, im betting you've not spotted that in the gents. They can be found in the ladies loo...where women hang
out

Im not an expert on gay clubs, but i am fairly sure you wont spot a tampax machine in the gents

And whatever flippent comments people make on here means fuck all in the terms of a relationship in real life

I am a little surprised that you feel because I believe that dh is perfectly capable of checking his own balls that i should divorce him

If its any consolation i did text ds1 and his boyfriend immediately

dwatsuts · 05/06/2019 21:42

The whole fucking point of the entire fucking thread is that the advert every other fucker on here is talking about

It could be. Being in the women's toilets doesn't mean it's for women specifically. Plenty of gender neutral adverts are displayed in the toilets. This advert would be applicable to gay men if it was in a place where they could see it.

Even if it was specifically targeted to women...
... then it's a completely legitimate advert and it is expected for people to look after their partners. If having to show care for your partner makes you angry enough to post on mumsnet about it, then your partner is not loved and it's time to break up. It does make me scratch my head when people who have been in relationships for so long struggle to even understand the basics.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 05/06/2019 21:36

I dont know why i said that

You obviously dont get it

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 05/06/2019 21:35

dwat

Ahh fuck it...gloves off

The whole fucking point of the entire fucking thread is that the advert every other fucker on here is talking about

ISNT GENDER NEUTRAL

do you get it

Ding ding ding

BedraggledBlitz · 05/06/2019 21:35

The use of the "keep calm and..." phrase is reason enough to hate this.

Will it ever fucking end?

Michelleoftheresistance · 05/06/2019 21:32

So are you saying people should NEVER care about the well-being of others, or have you specifically cherry-picked....

Mhm.

And moving on.
