I have recently been reminded yet again why the brilliant work of Transgender Trend is so important. For this reason I want to say thank you so much and also say that I will offer my support in a practical way.

Can I suggest that a look at Transgender Trend's most recent tweets might be a good idea. They can be found on their website if anyone cannot access Twitter.

Oh and just a general reminder that we cannot link to crowdfunders on Mumsnet.

I am very sure that Transgender Trend will achieve so much with this level of support. They will help an enormous amount of children.

Isn't it just ChickenonaMug . Hundreds and hundreds of women and men showing their commitment to evidence based research and support for parents and their children.

ChickenonaMug · 28/06/2019 22:30

The replies to the RCGP tweet are so strange, objecting to more research is just plain stupid. Stupid.

Especially since just yesterday they were criticising CCP for not having done any research/highlighted missing data for trans people in Invisible Women! Do they want research or not?

LangCleg · 28/06/2019 22:15

That's a brilliant level of support!

More than 65,000 supports!

I hope the last day goes well.

HandsOffMyRights · 28/06/2019 08:34

Thanks Transgender Trend. I've donated and I hope others continue to do so.

My child's school is a Stonewall Champion and TT offered some helpful advice regarding contacting the school with my concerns.

There are so many red flags regarding GI, but those groups targeting our children are my biggest concern of all. There seem to be so many springing up now (my child's school also uses Diversity Role Models, so that's 2 groups I know of).

I'm so pleased reading all the comments on the thing that can't be mentioned. The sucess of this shows how much support there is for Transgender Trend's work - today is the last day to show your gratitude!

truthisarevolutionaryact · 27/06/2019 15:33

Bumping this as the thing that we can't mention has one more day. It's been a great success, exceeding expectations - but there's still a bit more time to support a superb organisation supporting families and schools.

MangoesAreMyFavourite · 23/06/2019 23:00

Omg! They got their stretch target! Amazing news! Thanks to the mystery donor!!!

loveyouradvice · 23/06/2019 22:46

bumping because I want to thank Transgender Trend every day!

The Royal College of General Practitioners tweeted:

twitter.com/rcgp/status/1142432907988021248

"#RCGPCouncil member - there is a great need for more research into transgender care & impacts of treatment. Too often accused of being transphobic when questioning the evidence re treatment, but it's essential we get it right based on high-quality clinical evidence".

Transgender Trend retweeted it.

So I had a look at the RCGP Twitter feed. They are under pressure from Helen Webberley and the usual suspects. Webberley states on the thread: "Two young trans people in my knowledge have ended their lives on the train tracks this year".

Webberley clearly trying to bully and manipulate them into giving them a seat on the RCGP steering group. Webberley does not volunteer the information that she is suspended from practice. The thread is from yesterday.

Such great news. The last update was overwhelming with the amount of work that TT are doing to support families.

TriptychDebbie · 22/06/2019 14:01

If anyone has any doubts how strongly people feel about what's happening in our schools re Mermaids, Stonewall and the rest, they should take a look at the support TT has got. Not hate, not bigotry, not anti-trans, just wanting the best for out children. Long may they continue to be the voice of reason.

Wow.

Amazing.

Demonstrates how much TT is sorely needed.

LangCleg · 22/06/2019 11:13

OMG

Two donations totalling over 25 thousand supporting things! Target smashed!

Whoever you are: thank you.

TheRedBarrows · 22/06/2019 10:19

Thank you also to @alicetimmons on Twitter, as retweeted by Simon Fanshawe who says “This is an amazing heartfelt, lived thread of experience. Alice’s narrative needs to be respected and not met with slogans and assertion. There IS a debate about the complexity of making trans rights and responsibilities consistent with women’s hard fought rights. Alice’s voice.”
Alice describes herself as a wee glasgae granny.

WaltzingOutinBlueandRed · 22/06/2019 10:08

That's great news about the picture book for early years children. Transgender Trend are an amazing group.

I remember a few years ago when i first heard about what was happening re a certain ideology, Transgender Trend was one of the first grassroots organisations that developed as a counter- balance, recognising the rights of all children, and of sex as a protected characteristic. I remember feeling so relieved. They had to be anonymous at that point. We have all come a long way!

LangCleg · 22/06/2019 09:13

Bumping.

From the latest update that I couldn't possibly link to:

Yesterday we met with a Head teacher at a special needs school for pupils on the autism spectrum to discuss schools resources for pupils who are high-functioning ASD. We have a picture book currently in production for all Early Years children which was also written with ASD pupils in mind. We have attracted a top children's poet and children's book illustrator for this project, both of whom are committed, like us, to providing children with clear accurate information about their bodies while challenging the stereotypes which restrict them as boys or girls.

Think how important it is to have materials that counteract the harmful stereotyping, safeguarding-obliterating, queer theory infused boundaries-dismantling material that keeps cropping up in our schools.

Less than a week left... for er.... something supportive.

LangCleg · 15/06/2019 22:37

They're 69% on the way to their target. Brilliant - and needed even more given the collapse of safeguarding evidenced this week.

This. If there was ever a time to support an org with an actual understanding of child protection and safeguarding - this is it.

LangCleg · 12/06/2019 17:08

Yes. Look at what is happening with regard to child protection and the organisations supposed to uphold it. A great time to support a group dedicated to just that.

HumberElla · 12/06/2019 12:41

Thank you. A timely reminder indeed.
