post edited by MNHQ - two petition links deleted

I have a lot of sympathy for Caroline since she was attacked for her gender critical views. However I had a petition in my feed with her name at the top objecting to Disney LGBT Pride. I have objections too to some of the displays of S and M stuff, don't like sex in public etc, but I think she is wrong to include us all in what she objects to. I think there is a problem with Pride being associated with a major children and family brand, but I really hate that lesbians are included in the things not to like category,
I would not take children to these events but I guess one day a year is not a lot to deprive them of the Disney experience....

The Walt Disney brand was once a byword for wholesome family-friendly entertainment.

This weekend Disneyland Paris is holding a Gay Pride parade.

These events are notorious for sexually explicit costumes and displays of lewd behaviour.

Sign here now to stop the indoctrination of young children and keep Disneyland safe for families.

Dear......

Warning: Disney parks are no longer family friendly!

Disney is flaunting their new partnership with the “LGBTQ” community as they plan to host their very first gay pride parade this upcoming Saturday, June 1st, at Disneyland Paris. This event is an expansion from a small party they promoted in the park last year and will be the first outright parade celebrating the gay lifestyle.

The growth of gay pride events at Disney is not limited to its Paris location. At Universal Studios Hollywood, in Southern California, Disney is helping to organize the “Pride Is Universal” event that will also take place this Saturday. And, the expansion of “Gay Days,” which are held every August at Walt Disney World in Florida.

This is a deceptive move to push the LGBT political agenda and expose children and families to lewd behavior.

Similar parades around the world are notorious for exposing viewers to:

Participants wearing only their underwear or leather bondage gear
Topless dancers
Lewd dancing
People engaging in public sex acts
Semi-nude or completely nude people
Around 157 million people visited Disney parks in 2018. Disney is an empire built on attracting families with children. Gay pride-related events are very public with the potential to become an X-rated peep show. How many of this Saturday’s 430,000 park attendees do you think will be exposed?

I’m sure the LGBT lobby is already counting this as a victory for their dangerous agenda. This is not about promoting love or diversity but the deliberate violation of boundaries and the imposition of Queer Theory and gender ideoelogy.

We cannot sit idle and remain voiceless while gay pride events are targeting family-friendly venues. Join this call to action to stand against Disney’s attempt to indoctrinate our children in an entertainment area that is intended for all audiences.

We only have a short time to act on this call to action.

Sincerely,

Caroline Farrow and the rest of the CitizenGO team

PS It is only a few days until this event takes place. Sign today.

I'm another who supports CC right to state her views free from harassment. Our GC views coincide but I disagree with her more conservative Christian views. That said I respect her right to hold those views. I'm confused by her being wife to catholic priest, is her dh one of those bigoted vicars that transferred to Catholicism in protest at women vicars? Or is it some variant of Catholicism I haven't come across?

I'd expect Disney to do a nice sanitised family friendly Pride so unless proved wrong I won't be signing this particular petition. I never had a problem with Pride before the trans takeover, the removal of lesbians is where I have a problem with it, I'm not keen on overt sexualised drag and def disagree with child drag acts.

Coyoacan · 30/05/2019 22:19

I wouldn't go to Disney or take any child of mine there if you paid me to.

And I totally support Caroline's right to free speech and live free from harassment and intimidation, but I only coincide with her on GC matters.

Wow, there are well over 200K signatures already, so clearly there are plenty of people who agree with this petition.

Presume it must have been shared stateside among the religious conservative groups?

However you look at it, that is a lot of signatures.

I imagine that Disney will be treading very carefully on this. Last thing they want now is for any pictures depicting inappropriate behaviour to emerge on Saturday.

I imagine that Disney security will be at Level 5 Red Alert (Lesbians on Chairs kinda level).

S1naidSucks · 30/05/2019 21:24

I wonder what’s worse, concluding that the author of a dodgily worded petition that imo reads as homophobic, is in fact homophobic, or using a partial quote in order to accuse someone of silencing?

Sorry I didn’t write that very well. I genuinely didn’t think that C was homophobic.

The second paragraph wasn’t actually about you. Sorry if it came across that way. It’s about those that try to silence others.

PencilsInSpace · 30/05/2019 21:14

We should be doing government petitions.

Jasging · 30/05/2019 20:49

My hairdresser (gay, Disney mad) went to Disney Pride last year, said it was crap (!) To be honest you can't get more camp than Disney, I can't get too worked up about it and would imagine Disney will "disneyfy" it.

DpWm · 30/05/2019 18:27

Unfortunately for Gender Critical topics there are very few platforms that allow petitions.

38 Degrees and Change.org have both been hard on removing gender critical petititons, including pretty banal ones eg titled "Can the government please consult with women on changes to the law that affect them"

CitizenGo are one of the few petition sites that will even allow gender critical petitions so for that reason I have signed petitions on CG just because other sites wouldn't host them.

It's undoubtedly a sorry State of affairs.

Whatisthisfuckery · 30/05/2019 17:02

One has to wonder whether the sort of people who would turn up dressed only in a thong, nipple tassels and a spiked dog collar would be at Disneyland in the first place. I expect there’s cheeper places they can get their rocks off making public exhibitions of themselves.

HerFemaleness · 30/05/2019 15:29

I'm with nosering. It's highly unlikely that Disney management would passively stand around while men in bondage gear simulated sex acts with each other in front of crowds of children. In fact, I doubt it would happen at all. There will be a code of conduct that they will need to adhere to of this I have no doubt.

NoseringGirl · 30/05/2019 15:01

Everything at Disney is very heavily managed and controlled. There are really strict rules for all their employees (at the parks and the shops) right down to the way they have to dip down to pick up litter. They take their image very seriously. I doubt this will be a sexualised pride. I reckon it will be more about celebrating families of same sex parents.

Whatisthisfuckery · 30/05/2019 14:57

S1naidSucks

I think you forgot some of my quote.

Lesbian here saying meh. Homophobes gonna be homophobic. twas ever thus. People are allowed their oppinions, even when I don’t like them.

I wonder what’s worse, concluding that the author of a dodgily worded petition that imo reads as homophobic, is in fact homophobic, or using a partial quote in order to accuse someone of silencing?

Goosefoot · 30/05/2019 13:21

Since when was Caroline homophobic?

I think she takes the Catholic view. Some people consider it homophobic.

Needmoresleep · 30/05/2019 12:49

As a parent I would be wary of furry links, but then the same would be true of Comicon. Probably because I have seen too many woke people on twitter with comic avatars.

I tend to agree with Caroline on this. I don't agree with her on everything. She is consistent in her beliefs and brave. Her raising this means that I and others will think a bit more.

Is Pride for kids still facepainting, or are there increasing elements of drag queen story time, Desmond is Amazing, and Mermaids/Aimee Challenor running teens workshops. I would support the former, not the latter. Caroline might support neither, but I suspect would be pragmatic enough to recognise where her support from those, say, concerned about safeguarding, ended, and what might therefore be achievable.

S1naidSucks · 30/05/2019 12:18

Lesbian here saying meh. Homophobes gonna be homophobic. twas ever thus.

Have I missed something. Since when was Caroline homophobic? My understanding is that she is objecting on the grounds of SOME of the fetishising wear and those that oppose women’s rights. I’m trying to think what us homophobic about that?

I’m not signing it because I’d never sign anything on that site, however I’m not going to silence someone’s views. We get enough of that from the very people she objects to attending the march.

TheGoalIsToStayOutOfTheHole · 30/05/2019 12:15

The last one I signed of Caros, this is the first time I have been emailed by tem about another, which is weird as I am sure I have signed a few on there. Change..email me daily. Some I am interested in but most I am not.

Pride will probably be back to rainbow fluffy fun in disney. The one I went to was..well Newcastle..which maybe speaks for itself, we are not well known for wearing clothes in general Grin

I do have a lot of gay mates who are disillusioned with Pride and stuff though. As its become about money, rather than acceptance. They also get mightily pissed off with stuff like the lgbt sandwich by M&S as, M&S are donating a whole 10k, meanwhile pribably making 10x that just off using rainbow branding! So they see it as a chance for companies to get their woke cookies but actually profit hugely. mind, this does tend to be older gay people, who did actually have to fight for acceptance, the younger ones think its great and (luckily) have not really been treat the way older gays have.

This matter is odd, as I am actually allowed an opinion on it as everyone knows I am bi. Other topics I try to talk about I am shouted down and told my voice is utterly unimportant, usually. The perils of mainly hanging round with lefties.

R0wantrees · 30/05/2019 12:15

I didn’t know Citizen Go was a Catholic platform. For some reason I’ve looked at their petitions but never signed so fortunately I don’t get them pop up unless someone else shares.

from Wiki:

"CitizenGO is an ultraconservative advocacy group founded in Madrid, Spain, in 2013 by HazteOir.

The foundation promotes petitions in 50 countries, including petitions defending Christian and Catholic causes, and those opposing same-sex marriage, abortion, and euthanasia."

There are some ultra-conservative groups which seem to bridge Christian denominations.
When I was trying to work out what the pastoral care assistant may have promoted I went down a bit of a rabbit hole.

It really is always worth being careful to establish which platform you might be lending support /data.

It bothers me greatly when things aren't transparent and I (as in any situation) regard that as a red flag.

LangCleg · 30/05/2019 12:04

I think Caroline is perfectly entitled to her views and to use her preferred sites for starting petitions. I think everyone else is perfectly entitled to support or not support petitions for any reason, including the site that hosts them.

I don't sign petitions on Citizen Go because I don't want that particular site to have my details which they may use to email me or for other petitions they host - and to which I object - to pop up on my social media feeds. Nothing to do with Caroline. If I agreed with a petition she started on another site, I would sign it

Whatisthisfuckery · 30/05/2019 10:09

Lesbian here saying meh. Homophobes gonna be homophobic. twas ever thus. People are allowed their oppinions, even when I don’t like them.

I doubt there’ll be much nudity and depravity at Disney. I’ve never viewed Disney as being particularly wholesome anyway but I doubt thousands of angry complaints from parents about public displays of BDSM and overt sexual behaviour is what they want, so I can’t get especially outraged about it.

There are far more concerning things about what the pride movement has become, corporatisation being just one of them, of which this is a symptom not a cause.

I didn’t know Citizen Go was a Catholic platform. For some reason I’ve looked at their petitions but never signed so fortunately I don’t get them pop up unless someone else shares.

KatvonHostileExtremist · 30/05/2019 09:05

My mate worked at Disney for a bit. I'm sure they had rules like, female workers must wear make up, and make workers mustn't have beards....

Or did I just imagine that?

Popchyk · 30/05/2019 09:02

"It has become a men's sexual rights movement with an emphasis on their fetishes and paraphilias".

Bang on.

And a lot of these men are heterosexual and are there because their kinks are enthusiastically welcomed under the 'queer' banner.

Angryresister · 30/05/2019 09:01

This was not intended as an attack, but I see why some might think that. Pride is not for me any more , as I agree it's generally a men's fetish fest where GC lesbians are not welcome. But I do not think the LGB should be grouped together with the T . And wish others would not do so , whatever their agendas.

OP posts:
RuffleCrow · 30/05/2019 08:48

I'm bisexual and I agree with her. Pride now has nothing to do with promoting acceptance of same sex love - it has become a men's sexual rights movement with an emphasis on their fetishes and paraphilias. Completely inappropriate for a children's theme park. Let kids be kids.

KatvonHostileExtremist · 30/05/2019 08:42

Disney is all about making money, they don't care who they make money off. Rainbow capitalism is huge, this year especially.

The furries will love it! Pluto, Minnie and the gang.

Then there's the princesses! Perfect examples of helpless, brave and stunning, women.

I worked on a project with Disney once. They ate us alive. Lol

It's all capitalism, if people want to spend their money on it. Fair enough.

If Carro wants to complain. Fair enough.

HorsewithnoHoldsBarred · 30/05/2019 07:57

I heard some news about Disney on the radio this morning. Apparently they could up sticks and move their business to another state because of the so-called heartbeat law in Louisiana.
