That first slide must be the one used in PC Gul's training course

AncientLights · 18/05/2019 22:10

The Twitter comments aren't having any of it.

RaffertyFair · 18/05/2019 22:09

I am filled with dispair, horror, anger, frustration ---how can the NAS be party to this harmful load of bollocks?!

Birdsfoottrefoil · 18/05/2019 21:46

And they were paying a lot of money to listen to this guff

OhHolyJesus · 18/05/2019 21:39

They got one out of 5 right. Well done to them for mentioning chromosomes and spelling it right. FFS.

Thingybob · 18/05/2019 21:39

It's this sort of confounding, nonsensical conflating of language around sex, sexuality, personal identity etc that I find the most disturbing.

I agree, it makes my head hurt too and I'm not autistic. To be spouting this nonsense to autistic people who need information to be clear and unambiguous is disgusting.

The 'experts' couldn't even agree on the definition of the word 'sexuality'

And what the hell is 'human gender equipment'?

oh dear god what are they doing?
This is horrific!
The development of gender identity before birth?
We must stop pregnant mums teaching their unborn baby gender stereotypes!

DoxxedFox · 18/05/2019 21:34

Fucking hell. Use apostrophes properly! They lost me at ‘Ones’.

RuffleCrow · 18/05/2019 21:31

Oh for god's sake. My 5 year old autistic son thinks tv characters are real - he thinks they're his friends. He does not need this anti-scientific bullshit to confuse him even further.

It's actually borderline abusive to just make up shitty lies and project them onto disabled people who can't defend themselves against it.

Polestar50 · 18/05/2019 21:29

I don't know where to start.

The first bullet point doesn't even make any sense. Where it says 'sexual orientation' they presumably mean 'biological sex'?

It's this sort of confounding, nonsensical conflating of language around sex, sexuality, personal identity etc that I find the most disturbing.

Who is doing this? Who are the individuals writing this guff? What are the NAS thinking?

The person or organisation giving this talk was, presumably, introduced as a professional talking about their area of expertise. But it!is nonsense. Not even just from a GC perspective. From ANY perspective. It is nonsense.

My head hurts.

FannyCann · 18/05/2019 21:25

And appalling punctuation too Thingybob.

TirisfalPumpkin · 18/05/2019 21:18

“It may be hard to assess people who are non verbal (for gender dysphoria) but it is possible Dr James Barrett #AutismGender”

_<

It’s hard enough being autistic without being subjected to this abject bollocks.

Needmoresleep · 18/05/2019 21:08

Interesting to hear what they might be contributory factors to autism. Is it similarly based on dollops of woo. —I hope not—

Thingybob · 18/05/2019 21:05

For a conference that "gathered together some of the most highly respected professionals in the industry" there were many worrying tweets yesterday.

Just from your slide there are four incorrect statements.
