Period pain, since when was it down to estrogen?

I have just wound myself up reading about the transwoman period and period pain.
I may be being totally unfair and wrong but this one can't be shared, it's sex specific and it's horrible. Why would anyone ever want to have it? I am now so far over the hill and into the wilderness but have this building anger at how some of the population feel they can appropriate sex specific symptoms to make the feel what they can never be.
Whilst i am of the live and let live, generally i am less of the live and let lie. For 28 years i have had period pain every 21 days, not 4-5 weeks as the kindly person wrote. Only a break with pregnancy, which brings it's own complications, i have at least another 1 years ahead of me. Anyone can take the pain but you can't claim it on a falsehood, sorry no way do you get to undermine my ligitimate experience with your made up one.
Sorry for the rant.

It's part of the dysphoria
It's part of typically male ignorance of women's bodies, and self indulgence.

It's part of the dysphoria OP, it brings about an ability to deny reality, like climate change or the strong belief the earth is flat. We must respect all beliefs and never undermine or question, just affirm. Ted Cruz is warning Americans about Space Pirates and we must affirm that too I suppose.

I'm astounded that the WHO declassified it as a mental health condition, I think that was very dangerous but what do I know about it, not being a doctor, we are all supposed to blindly believe.

It's just nonsense, you cannot experience pain of womb lining shedding if you don't have a womb.

I remember one transwoman describing their period pains in a lot of detail. Apparently they had to spend all day in bed, sobbing. Then they revealed that they went through this on the 10th of every month. Once every calendar month?

Grin I remember this too!
Not only are they liars, they’ve clearly never looked at a calendar.

^ What causes dysmenorrhea (pain of menstrual cramps)?
Menstrual cramps are caused by contractions (tightening) in the uterus (which is a muscle) by a chemical called prostaglandin. The uterus, where a baby grows, contracts throughout a woman's menstrual cycle. During menstruation, the uterus contracts more strongly. If the uterus contracts too strongly, it can press against nearby blood vessels, cutting off the supply of oxygen to the muscle tissue of the uterus. Pain results when part of the muscle briefly loses its supply of oxygen.^

Prostaglandin, not oestrogen, and specifically its effect on the uterus. The only thing it's like is labour pains.

Maybe transwomen taking estrogen experience similar side effects to women on HRT, which can include leg cramps:

www.nhs.uk/conditions/hormone-replacement-therapy-hrt/side-effects/

... I've never heard any woman compare this with dysmenorrhea.

A transwoman surely can't understand period pain, in the same way I've no idea what it's like to be kicked in the bollocks.

I still remember the study in endometriosis in Australia that got a huge amount of funding because it looked specifically at how the condition impacted men’s sex lives. Poor menz

I can well believe this, 30 years ago while being treated for ovarian cysts (and being fobbed off) I kept being asked if it affected my sex life. After saying no,as I was single at the time,I said yes that the pain did affect sex with my partner and lo and behold I got an op within weeks !!Hmm

EachDubh · 17/05/2019 22:00

Def yes, but to claim what isn't possible, which sounds mad when i don't believe the main claim about being born in the wrong body, but this just takes my breath away. It shows a total lack of awareness of woman's biology and how our reproductive systems and hormnes all work. I feel lile i need to bang my head, hard, to make the wold make sense gain.

Maybe they’ll finally start putting some funding into menstral health now that it’s been appropriated by the bepenised.

Have you never been catching up with someone who, when you tell them about the truly harrowing time you've been having recently including the death of a close family member, tries to trump you with their story about mislaying their keys for 10 minutes the other week?

EachDubh · 17/05/2019 21:52

Sorry, i have a keyboard that plays up and always forget to check my posts, hope it made sense.
And yes, definitely someone who doesn't know what it is like!

We should study cis and trans to find a way to solve this issue?? No, please cn woman, for a change hve the money directed to and spent on them. We are not all the same inside and this is a female thing. 😂

Why would anyone ever want to have it?

Someone who has no idea how awful it can be.
