Is there not an element of self selection in all of this? It's a wee bit like Jeremy Kyle: the only people who'd willingly participate are already damaged and/or mentally ill. There's little incentive for folk of sound mind, strong interpersonal relationships and some kind of physical emotional stability to participate.

I guess the main point of this article is that the wokey-blokies are behaving like any lap dancing club attendee - viewing women's bodies as objects for their own gratification, while simultaneously feeling like a 'good guy'.

these are totally the same men who think they get to decide who uses women's changing rooms whilst patting themselves on the back about how inclusive they are.

I used to work with someone who was so woke it was unbelievable. She was actually lovely.

But she was such a people pleaser it was unreal. Her friends seemed more like clients who she felt she could support and improve. Boyfriends were the dude bros variety who I got a sense that they felt they were superior to her (and women in general)

I could see her doing naked yoga/cuddle parties to to make everyone else happy.

No, it really doesn't. It illustrates nothing more than what it illustrates- what on earth were they expecting going to these classes.

I posted on another thread about a 30 y.o friend of mine who lives in a very fashionable part of London. He was invited to a party thrown by some women friends of a friend. It was described as a topless lesbian party by the hostesses. To which men were invited (no money changed hands). It got pretty raunchy and he went home with one of the "lesbians".

He was baffled by the motivation for throwing the party. Did it have anything to do with lesbianism or feminism? I said no. We had a chat about the male gaze and exhibitionism. Very weird.

That was my thoughts exactly. I didn't feel a shred of sympathy for any of the women referred to in the article. I was irritated by the writer's tone and her assumption that I should be outraged by it.

What she is describing isn't prostitution or stripping. None of the women, whether instructors or participants, are forced to get involved with this. Can anyone really be too dim not to realise naked yoga and cuddle parties will be just as grim as described? Or if you really are that dim, presumably you don't go back after the first one.

I have wondered how women are so clueless that they take this stuff at face value. I mean, I am not cynical particularly about men, I like them a lot. I like cuddling too. But I can very easily see the problem with having parties where you cuddle with a bunch of people you don't know.

(Not to mention, it's an aside but who wants to cuddle with someone without any real affection in it? )

I have to wonder if some of the women don't enjoy the ego boost in what seems like a safe environment?
