What with Debbie Hayton's article in the TES, TRAs have issued twitter orders that looking things up on Transgender Trend must stop immediately.

There has been an All Ports warning that the more you visit the website, the more it rises up the google rankings, and knocks other transgender websites off their perches. This is erasure, they say.

Now do as you are told. Stop driving by Transgender Trend at least once a day, if not more, and ruining things.

You know when there are signs with wet paint? Did you know that it is often not wet after all?

Just. Can't. Resist...

cwg1 · 14/05/2019 21:59

ItsAll - many thanks for your help. Did you see the post, Once? I think we untechy folk need to keep practising.

Why not point teacher friends at the free resources?

@Absolutepowercorrupts you're going to need to keep on trying sorry, look....
www.transgendertrend.com
I think your link had some spaces in it. Keep trying and we can keep testing it.

I'm not sure it's a simple as a few keywords for search engine optimisation these days

I'm sure you are right and I'm sure they are probably on with any use which can be gleaned from Alexa (hardly an unknown resource after all).

I was just wondering whether sites like TT sometimes neglect SEO voodoo because generally they are community resources which might not want to be too 'commercial' in their approach.

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 14/05/2019 21:28

Na na na na na nah

Obviously I wouldn’t have clicked any related links either, just to get to TT via other searches. Oh no.

Absolutepowercorrupts · 14/05/2019 21:21

Ok, more research needed

Absolutepowercorrupts · 14/05/2019 21:21

transgender trend.com
I'm only posting this to see if I can finally make clicky links work. It's obviously research, I'm definitely not suggesting that anyone should visit this site.

FermatsTheorem · 14/05/2019 21:14

donquixote sadly I'm not sure it's a simple as a few keywords for search engine optimisation these days (I thought I remembered something about this having changed and a quick ferret around suggests this is indeed the case: you used to be able to include meta tags to bump your site up the ratings, but google got wise to this).

Of course I could be mistaken - I'm sure the techies writing the code for the website we mustn't click on under any circumstances whatsoever know much more about this than I do - my html writing skills are somewhat basic (as an aside, if anyone can recommend a good basic book on java, they would instantly become my best friend for ever).

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/05/2019 21:06

How did you do the link for www.transgendertrend.com/ without doing the whole address? I'm also un techy.

See attached image which shows how this was done

website of doom

MrsKCastle · 14/05/2019 21:05

Right, so just to get this straight, I mustn't ever Google Transgender Trend and I really mustn't post any links to Transgender Trend.

Got it.

And of course, I would never, ever bump this thread.

Ooops.

MangoSplit · 14/05/2019 21:05

Thanks for the tips about googling Smile

donquixotedelamancha · 14/05/2019 21:04

That Alexa link upthread is really interesting. Some excellent keyword suggestions for search engine optimisation if anyone from TT is reading this.

Ereshkigal · 14/05/2019 21:04

Or do you need to put www.transgendertrend.com/ ?

Ereshkigal · 14/05/2019 21:04

Is it www.transgendertrend.com that we shouldn't link to?

Oncewasblueandyellowtwo · 14/05/2019 21:00

cwg
How did you do the link for www.transgendertrend.com/ without doing the whole address? I'm also un techy.

cwg1 · 14/05/2019 20:49

Well - look at that^ I'm very untechy and thought it was about time I learnt to make links.

Transgender Trend

cwg1 · 14/05/2019 20:45

www.transgendertrend.com

LilyRed · 14/05/2019 20:42

So I mustn't visit www.faircop.org.uk and add to the crowdfunder, and I mustn't visit www.transgendertrend.com ..

Well, I certainly shouldn't read Maya Forstater's article medium.com/@MForstater/i-lost-my-job-for-speaking-up-about-womens-rights-2af2186ae84 or pledge to her crowdfund either then www.crowdjustice.com/case/lost-job-speaking-out

Oncewasblueandyellowtwo · 14/05/2019 20:33

Woops for double post of www.transgendertrend.com/
,clicky link doesn't usually work the first time!

Oncewasblueandyellowtwo · 14/05/2019 20:31

www.transgendertrend.com/

Oncewasblueandyellowtwo · 14/05/2019 20:31

What's www.transgendertrend.com/ ?? Have I missed something? Oh well I'll just have to take all of your word for it I suppose...

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/05/2019 20:23

There's a whole long list of websites like www.transgendertrend.com/ that shouldn't be looked at under any circumstances. I'm sure others on the thread have other websites that absolutely should not have any traffic.

www.faircop.org.uk/ is another website that absolutely should not be visited. Not only does it contain disturbing content, that absolutely should not be viewed it actually has the temerity to be launching a court case Shock

LilyRed · 14/05/2019 20:20

So I have to check these websites regularly because they are terrible places and tell everyone to check them so they can see what they are like?
I have checked them all so far this evening; terrible. Tut Tut Tut

Absolutepowercorrupts · 14/05/2019 20:19

Obviously I'm still not wearing my glasses because, yet again I can't do bloody clicky links
