Glad Gilligan is covering this.

More than 5,600 nice things!

LangCleg · 12/05/2019 14:53

I am asking about one of the organisers of this fundraiser bc he was also involved in another one which has become a huge mess. Don’t act like my concern is not justified.

FGS - nobody is saying your concern is not justified. They're saying you'll get this whole thread taken down - like the other two - if you carry on derailing to a different topic. You're not helping anyone, including yourself and anyone else wanting more info on the other fund.

Just stop it.

Ereshkigal · 12/05/2019 14:24

Posie says she'll contribute a piece later on. We're not planning on leaving the same cases up indefinitely!

Thanks Harry, appreciate the response.

No offence to Harry I have said that already.

Hello @HazzaTheOwl! Glad you're doing this.

CatMiaow If you want to talk about a particular other fundraiser please start a new thread to do it.

www.crowdjustice.com/how-it-works/ for anyone who may be interested in the working of the CrowdJustice platform. As others in the thread have previously stated money goes directly to the nominated legal firm (minus platform fees).

I am not a lurker. @ItsAllgoingtobefine I have been on mumsnet a long time.

@ereshkigal The fair cop website and fundraiser was tweeted by glinner the same as the old one. His name is also on the website. When he ignores me tweets and others asking about the first lot of money. Kate Scarow has also tweeted that half the old money is going to someone else for a mattress not to her so I am being gaslighted when everyone keeps calling this speculation or ignoring it!!!

HazzaTheOwl · 12/05/2019 13:11

NONE of the Crowd Justice money is coming to me. ALL of it is being handled by Crowd Justice and the solicitor.

None of us get access to a single penny. None of us can divert funds from its stated intent.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 12/05/2019 13:01

CatMiaow It's great to see that you have moved from being a lurker to a poster.

Just a heads up that two threads about the Glinner fundraiser have already been deleted due to the wild speculation from some individuals. It's be a shame if this thread went the same way.

I will be contributing to the crowdfunder when we are paid (very expensive month!).

Helen is right - you cannot be immune from the consequences of what you say. What she is wrong about it is a) that there are actual real consequences to stating facts b) that those consequences include the police turning up at your door.

It’s fine while your opinion is “acceptable” to society, but a police state can be used against anyone.

Ereshkigal · 12/05/2019 12:56

I think this is going directly to Harry for Harry's suit against the police based on the way he was treated and that it is in breach of the human rights act. It's not a general pot, so Graham has nothing to do with it.

CatMiaow · 12/05/2019 12:51

Hazza you are Harry? Can you ask glinner what is happening with the donations women gave for the last cause he promoted please. No offence, but he shouldn’t be asking for woman to donate while we don’t know what happened with our old donations.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 12/05/2019 12:46

I am out and about at the moment, but when I get home I’ll definitely add to the good things

I’m pleased they’ve chosen crowd justice for this

OvaHere · 12/05/2019 12:46

Um... James Caspian's case is ongoing. Can still provide nice things. Also safe to provide nice things as it's on the same legal nice things website.

Didn't realise that Lang. Good to know, it's been a while since I did a nice thing re that case.

Ereshkigal · 12/05/2019 12:46

Can you add Miranda Yardley's case to the website, Hazza? I agree with Lang that it should be there. It's powerful, and it got thrown out by the judge.

HazzaTheOwl · 12/05/2019 12:42

Thanks for the tech help with the Medium link. I'm useless!

LangCleg · 12/05/2019 12:39

You can link to Medium, Hazza! Just not direct to crowdfunding pages. Here is Harry's piece, everyone:

OvaHere · 12/05/2019 12:32

Yes I thought the same about James Caspian. As you say the debate has risen to much more prominence since then but also I don't think the average person probably relates as much to academia, not matter how important his study would be.

boatyardblues · 12/05/2019 12:24

Anyone else feeling sad for James Caspian at the mo? It took him ages to raise the money he needed to appeal his University’s decision. Just goes to show how far this debate has moved on.

boatyardblues · 12/05/2019 12:23

As I understand it, money raised on Crowdjustice appeals is paid directly to the law firm engaged to fight the case. The law firm is named at the top of the appeal page.

CatMiaow · 12/05/2019 12:20

Thank you for replying @datun
I didn’t realise the other one was openly speculative. I just followed glinners tweet that made out half was going to women for legal fees. I feel like a thicko.
