After attending Lesbians on Chairs today I used a unisex loo in Café Nero. Loo seat was up, covered my hand with loo roll to put it down, piss literally all on the top of the seat.

I asked my DH how that could have happened and he thought the man before me would have lifted it up after the man before him pissed all over it.

Disgusting.

I went to the loo at the interval of an amateur concert. Someone had put paper signs over the ladies and gents saying unisex. These were flimsy individual cubicles with a shared sink in a church hall. The one I entered did not have a sanitary bin. So basically, they’d turned them all into the gents.

I did complain to a (very embarrassed) chap about the lack of sanitary bins, but I couldn’t find the words to explain why I really didn’t like the set up and found it scary.

Yeah not only are they animals but they're basically aphids so the perfume repels em. Did you know aphids reproduce asexually? Coincidence? Hardly.

I have found that if you spray a lot of perfume around, men will go elsewhere cos they don't want to smell of it

Hate unisex toilets for all of the above reasons. Dirt and intimidation being main ones.

I believe there should be toilers for us all to chose from but add unisex toilets. Let's not remove M & F. I believe in choice but if there's only unisex how can I decide??

I gave seen many males in unisex toilets forget to close the door, not because they are perverts or have any ulterior motives but because it's habit.

Just like I have sometimes sprayed deodorant or replied make up at the sinks, I've even seen ladies in airports have a quick freshen up under the arms with wipes, it's habit. We shouldn't be feeling uncomfortable.

My most probably very unpopular opinion is three Sets of toilets. M F & Unisex

I worked with a man who'd been arrested for peering over the women's toilet cubicles at a station He made a lot of money for the company so they didn't care.

One unisex toilet in a multi-office building I used to work at was frequently splattered in spunk on a Friday afternoon.

So if you didn't look when you sat down or went to flush you would likely touch congealed jizz.

Heaven forbid they should have wanked in the male cubicle, or wiped u after themselves (or perhaps wanked at home).

I used to run a pub with separate toilets for men and women. I employed a regular as a cleaner, he was a lovely chap in his sixties in a decline from a less than Stella career if you get the inference. He was rewarded at the end of the shit shift with a pint of Guinness on the house, and always reported to the bar as Captain Underblast in homage to his incredulity that men managed to get shit everywhere, even blasted right up under the rim. He is dead now.

I agree with another poster that female only and unisex toilets is only way forward for all these woke companies who are so desperate to be inclusive they’ve forgotten the whole point of having sex segregation when people are in state of undress

Schools who have done the floor to ceiling thing have to make sure that toilets are somehow open-able from the outside for all sorts of reasons, from self harm to children simply getting stuck. Unfortunately, many of these mechanisms can also be easily opened by teenage boys.

At the very least, they should be a choice only- never the only option!

I know of an incident where a man (who would have been DBS checked due to their profession) put hidden cameras in a unisex toilet and a female staff toilet that he had access too.

Single sex toilets with female only access, please.

Knowing of this incident has made me very aware that you cannot trust anyone.

I am in agreement with the unisex toilets crap. I don't want floor to ceiling cubicles either and have actually done a 180 on this as I hadn't originally considered the safety aspect of someone getting pushed inside one and being fully enclosed.

One of the first cases I attended as a trainee police officer was a man who had been going round sticking his head under the cubicle doors in one of those unisex "changing villages" at a water park. He had been caught perving at a 10 year old girl. The gaps under the cubicle doors were fucking massive, and this place was obviously much-used by families with young kids. I never went there again after that.

What is it with not locking doors? When I went to Glastonbury (and god known the toilets are grim enough anyway) I quickly learnt to look away as I opened the door just in case there was a man in there, never happened with a woman - in fact women would team up in random groups looking for a decent toilet, when one of us found one we'd call out and we'd all queue up and use that one, it just seemed to happen spontaneously!

My Oxford college in the 1990s had mixed toilets.
I accidentally walked in on a male student pissing with the door open and he took offence, followed me back to my room and wrote 'dyke' all over my door.

I bloody hated that place. So happy to graduate.

I worked as a cleaner when I was young. You get the odd manky woman but I can confirm the men's toilets are FAR more disgusting. Even in my current workplace (shiny corporate office) I heard there's apparently a mystery bloke leaving the gents in a horrible state and it's become a management issue. There's no excuse for an educated professional man to behave like such a pig, except that he can😣

This wasn't a unisex loo.

I was recovering from my csection on the ward with my newborn.

The ward has changed to allow men to stay over; they sleep on the floor or the ridiculously uncomfortable chairs.

I was next to the ward loo - clearly marked for patients only as it was where you went to measure lochia. So cardboard tubs stacked high, emergency cord to pull etc.

Very irritatingly lazy partner of a woman (lazy as she had begged him for 3 hours to get her a cuppa in the morning - he was too tired apparently - before the breakfast came with tea which he had too) - used it several times in the night. I felt uncomfortable and vulnerable as he had to pass so close to my bed.

Left the seat up and there was urine splatters.

I wouldn't have minded if it was a woman who'd just given birth. We were the only people on the ward and the other mother didn't use the loo.

They're fucking animals. Literally. I've both had to use, against my wishes (no other segregated toilets or washing facilities) unisex bathrooms and showers as well as being a cleaner for both male and female toilets and it is absolutely fucking disgusting and awful. Pubes on the floor and toilet seat where they wank, piss everywhere (literally everywhere), shit stains, leaving the door open, and one time waiting for me to come out of the shower so he could give me a long look up and down and commented on how delicious I was looking in my towel. It's vile, they're vile, it's just horrible.

I don't feel safe in unisex toilets.
So I tend to not use them.
It's the only time I get UTIs.

I remember going to Go Feminist conference. They made the ground floor women's toilet unisex. The men's was still single sex.

Due to the nature of the conference (was intended to be intersectional) there were lots of wheelchair -users in attendance so I didn't want to keep the accessible loo busy.
But I could not manage the stairs to the upstairs toilet.

I realize it's unlikely anyone would have shouted at me if I had used an accessible toilet but I'm autistic and things deviating from the norm can take me a long time to think through.
