I'm Suspended from Twitter

and it appears to be permanent.

Not for swearing, violent threats or promoting hatred, but for pointing out to a MtF transgender person that his male entitlement was showing.

I've appealed, but I'm not hopeful.

Ah well, fun's over.

I did need to back off from the crack cocaine of SM anyway.....

I also get confused about the IP thing. So if you were logged into WiFi elsewhere - your mum's house, or work for instance then you could set up a new account there?

I’d think so. It only matters when you’re setting up a new account though. Once you have the new account you can go back to using your old WiFi. A VPN might work but you’d need a very good one that costs money so it’s prob easier to just use your 4G.

A few women on my feed have been highlighting that Twitter removes GC women for speaking about fact and material reality and meanwhile openly pro-paedophilia accounts remain despite being reported. It's fucking scandalous.

This.

I have reported prostitutes openly plying their trade with explicit video clips, open paedophiles, violent threats, racist and sexist accounts and nothing much has happened.

I have supported tweets publicizing the problems of FGM, period poverty and the prospects of girls in countries where these issues affect girls' attendance in school and, therefore, their education and these have been deleted for 'transgressing Twitter rules'.

There is such a double standard, it's unreal.

Twitter is supposed to be a platform, where people have an equal footing and can get their issues heard.

What's happening is disgusting.

I also get confused about the IP thing. So if you were logged into WiFi elsewhere - your mum's house, or work for instance then you could set up a new account there? Does it then pick up your banned ip if you are logged in at home? But you could try to remember to log out of your WiFi and use 4g when you go on twitter at your banned IP address?

lobsterkiller · 06/05/2019 21:50

Ah thanks for clarifying re the VPN.

As a PP said, it's ok to be obsessed with tampons and young girls, it's ok to say to women "die in a grease fire" and it's ok to threaten women with rape and violence.

Just dont state a biological reality.

Would a VPN work too?

Yes, but they might demand a phone number if you log out and try to log back in.

Apparently it's fine to talk about sexual activity with children but it's not okay to say that a male human being cannot become a female human being, or make references to male violence stats, or call someone by the name they went by 5 minutes ago because now it's misgendering or some such shit.

And they wonder why we're feeling extra defensive about our rights, protections and spaces. Angry

We need an alternative twitter style platform, the only thing that will change companies like twitter is to hit their income. If all gc people left twitter, schools would leave, businesses would leave and twitter would collapse, slowly perhaps, into it's self made murk pile.
Just now twitter does whatever it wants, this includes treating women like a different species, one that is thete for the amusement of males. Until twitter feels the pain of a lack of financial resources they won't change. Time to arrange a mass account deletion day, make sure they can't ignore.
Also would be nice if our governments cared, a few brave souls, unsupported by their parties risk so much to make their voices heard. I'm not sure about this new, brave world we live in, where it's all about self choice, unless your self choice isn't their choice 😳🤪🤯

AlwaysTawnyOwl · 06/05/2019 21:22

See the Joanna Cherry video on the recent MN thread. It’s very entertaining to see the Twitter exec squirm. Please do let her know of your banning.

ILuvBirdsEye · 06/05/2019 21:20

Maybe they will have more money to defend themselves

lobsterkiller · 06/05/2019 21:14

Agree about the pageants but it's all part of the game to sue.

fretnot · 06/05/2019 21:10

Goodness, if there were any women’s arena that TW are welcome to it’s beauty pageants! Horrible things.

lobsterkiller · 06/05/2019 21:06

TalkingintheDark. Dont forget being on the wrong side of history. Hmm

lobsterkiller · 06/05/2019 21:05

I dont get why JY is being protected. I saw today that JY has applied for more beauty pagaents, even though they specify they are not open to trans women. I smell more legal cases.

TalkingintheDark · 06/05/2019 21:03

Ordinary people who aren't being abusive just with a different point a view.

It’s totally that. TRAs mass report. We get shut down. The appeals system is a joke. Our voices are simply silenced.

Us and our Wrongthink.

nettie434 · 06/05/2019 21:02

Wish I had bookmarked a tweet from when Megan Murphy was banned. The poster (a man) pointed out that he had reported a tweet showing a jihadist beheading a couple of weeks before and had not even received a proper reply, let alone got the tweet deleted yet Megan Murphy was banned instantly. That was why it was so important that Joanna Cherry questioned the Twitter PR person last week

Gingernaut · 06/05/2019 21:01

I've been suspended about Balldemort twice.

Once stating what he was and once retweeting a picture from his account.

Third time (pointing out to a MtF that 'her' male entitlement was showing) means it's permanent, apparently.

Jsoosty gone?? Oh no. Permaban?

TalkingintheDark · 06/05/2019 20:59

I was suspended towards the end of last year for saying that a person who was born male wasn’t born female. Have appealed. They told me they’d received my appeal about two weeks after the event. Then... nothing. It’s been months now. Still nothing. “A few days”, my arse.

It’s probably good for my MH.

Although I do lament not being able to support all the amazing wims on there.

Good luck, Gingernaut.

Stiffasaboard · 06/05/2019 20:54

This is insane and actually really REALLY scary.
It is a direct attack on GC women and I don’t see how twitter can even vaguely deny that when so many appalling accounts remain completely unaffected by bans.

lobsterkiller · 06/05/2019 20:53

Gingernaut I am losing so many followers to bans. Ordinary people who aren't being abusive just with a different point a view.

GassyAss · 06/05/2019 20:51

I got banned for saying Ian Huntley is a man. I mean, that is the literal truth FFS.

Gingernaut · 06/05/2019 20:44

I'm hardly a public figure, I'm nobody. Confused

bettybeans · 06/05/2019 20:43

It's frightening how many people are disappearing off radar every day. Soon it'll just be Trump, Rachel McK, Harrop, Hayden, Katie Hopkins, JY, Mhairi Hunter, Madigan, SonicFox and a bunch of furry anime incels. What a party that would be.

Hithere12 · 06/05/2019 20:42

I’ve been banned from Twitter. Unfortunately they IP ban you so you can’t make a new account. A way to get around this is to make a new account using 3G on your phone (do not your WiFi), then once you’ve made the account you can use your WiFi if that makes sense.
