I can’t believe what I’ve just watched. Eddie Izzard is on Joe Rogan saying ALL bathrooms should be gender neutral and completely dismissed the concerns women have that Joe brought up. He dismissed it as “people always complain when there’s change”

The whole thing is so selfish and entitled.

If the feelings of trans people are a determinant of which toilets they should use, so too should the feelings of females determine the provision we're given. The trans movement is all about people's feelings being the ultimate arbiter of what is true and right. Ergo, my feelings are true and right and must equally be taken into account.

If the need for transwomen to be safe from males deternines their needs, so too should females have space free from males. That includes transwomen, as they are male.

If the UN states that single sex toilet provision is essential so that women and girls can access education and other rights, are we saying that men in the developing countries this refers to are more backward, violent and dangerous than Western men? Isn't this a bit racist?

Justhadathought · 06/05/2019 09:34

Yep places where saying maybe you don't want to share with guys is worse than saluting Hitler. Because that's the culture there

Sounds like you inhabit a very woke world and circle of friends? I'm imagining that maybe you are in your early thirties? Have been through university? I came across a a young woman of that sort of age, once, walking along the promenade with her friend. She had a very young baby. i was giving out WPUK leaflets and once she recognised this - she handed it straight back to me - saying that " being a woman is all in your mind". I said, " No, it isn't; it is in your body - you have a baby for goodness sake". She was a lost cause. Lost to her own oppression as a woman - although, inevitably, she will have to find out the hard way - and learn to articulate this all for her self.

SarahTancredi · 06/05/2019 09:32

Because funnily enough when wine have been driven to stay closer to home or at home due to lack of suitable facilities the only people in those unisex toilets will he men. And theres no one left to fight/film/expose themselves to but each other

SarahTancredi · 06/05/2019 09:31

But seriously, would you be asking for all toilets to be redesigned for the sake of your son not having to go to the blokes because it's dirty and you're worried, if the entitled AWAs hadn't been clamouring to destroy single sex spaces?

It never makes sense does it. They want the safety of the womens toilets but then think they should be unisex so they can bring their sons in.

Unless they plan on accompanying their sons in the mixed sex toilets until adult hood or driving their dds to school so they dont have to use mixed sex bus station toilets then at some point they have to admit the problem. Men. Amd men need to step up and fight against Male violence rather than use women as bait.

Datun · 06/05/2019 09:29

peach

OtepotiLilliane42 at 8.39 is the official unarguable evidence.

The Times reporting that 90% of sex attacks in changing rooms are in the unisex ones is the MSM reporting on it.

Every aid agency advocates for single sex toilets.

Things that women do in the toilets include clearing up after menstruation, washing blood from clothes and hands, miscarriages, pregnancy tests, expressing milk, dealing with mastitis, etc.

Men piss and shit (and apparently, chat whilst they do so).

Women say no. It's their consent, their boundaries.

What other (online) women say is irrelevant. My consent is not in their gift.

FloralBunting · 06/05/2019 09:28

Please eliminate the extra sex from my last post!!! Single sex sex spaces are a very different thing!!!

Justhadathought · 06/05/2019 09:27

I can get the unarguable evidence required to persuade other women

Unfortunately, I feel many young women are going to have to learn for themselves the hard way.

OldCrone · 06/05/2019 09:27

All this demonstrates is that men can, and will, and do these shitty things.

peaches, I'm really struggling to understand what point you're trying to make. You are aware that some men are predators, yet you seem unable to understand that keeping men out of women's spaces will reduce the risk to women from these men. Can you explain your reasoning a bit more clearly for me?

FloralBunting · 06/05/2019 09:27

peaches, well, I understand the impetus to want to find the unassailable winning argument to quite down the voices against you.

But seriously, would you be asking for all toilets to be redesigned for the sake of your son not having to go to the blokes because it's dirty and you're worried, if the entitled AWAs hadn't been clamouring to destroy single sex spaces?

You're fighting a rear guard action, and tbh, I've been there, but eventually you have a lightbulb moment of "Actually, women want single sex sex spaces, and they provide a measure of protection for them, here in the West and in the developing world. Why should we have to justify having them?"

LarryGreysonsDoor · 06/05/2019 09:26

Especially a world where the majority of women appear to see no problem with this.

Have you asked a spread of women? I don’t mean women in your social circle, I mean your mum and her friends, your nan etc.
There is a difference between the majority of your friends and the majority of women.

lookatallthepeaches · 06/05/2019 09:25

Yep places where saying maybe you don't want to share with guys is worse than saluting Hitler. Because that's the culture there.

Besides, people have been banned from here

Justhadathought · 06/05/2019 09:25

Especially a world where the majority of women appear to see no problem with this

I'm not sure which world you inhabit, butI've been out on the streets, into supermarkets and other public spaces to ask women about this, due to severe lack of public awareness, and the vast majority of women are not happy nor comfortable with the idea at all.

lookatallthepeaches · 06/05/2019 09:24

Oh come on...

This is. There is no blocking but there's a distinct culture, I've been jumped on and assumed to be a TRA for asking simple questions. That deters people less thick skinned than myself from speaking up.

I'm not here to argue.

I'm on your side.

I'm trying to gather the information I need to persuade others.

Justhadathought · 06/05/2019 09:22

A cynic may read this and conclude that you just hate males, trans or otherwise

It is actually the other way around. Men's contempt for women is so blatant. Is it any wonder people feel so upset and angry.

Datun · 06/05/2019 09:21

There are other places where 99% of women disagree.

Really? Even tho'

Christ on a bike. l'm banned from virtually ever other corner of the Internet for being too much of a terf

lookatallthepeaches · 06/05/2019 09:21

Well no, there are other good reasons, I have a son, who got to an age where he no longer wanted to come into the ladies, but I was anxious with him going into the mens alone. cleaner more private toilets for all benefit everyone. There other other reasons other than capitulation. My daughter is at an age where she's frightened to lock the door so I hold it closed with my foot so she can see me, sometimes I'm minding friends children and they want the same, I don't have 3 feet and I certainly would be more wary with men around. Just as I'm sure most decent men would be uncomfortable themselves. I GET it, I do.

I'm not making any argument here, I'm presenting the arguments that I was met with in the hope I can get the unarguable evidence required to persuade other women.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 06/05/2019 09:20

floral

From what ive seen some of the more vocal online posters would be incredibly unhappy if the toilets were all individual gender neutral everyone in together off a corridor toilets

They want to be in the one marked women...including eddie cos who else is he going to have a chat with, while shitting

Datun · 06/05/2019 09:19

Both places are echo chambers.

Nope. There is no blocking, you can't stop people, anyone post on here. It's not an echo chamber. And the site has 12 million unique users per month.

You'll have to try again.

Justhadathought · 06/05/2019 09:18

He's lost his fucking mind! Very disappointing. Actually it hurts very much when the so called "good guys" turn out to be first class misogynists

Unfortunately that's how I'm feeling towards many gay men ( generally speaking) these days. I don't want to hear about wonderful and liberating 'camp' and' drag' is ( Radio 4 this morning). That so many gay men have jumped unquestioningly onto the trans bandwagon has left me feeling very sore, and has made me look back and reflect on my relationships with gay men, and see more clearly all that made me, and continues to make me feel uncomfortable about gay male culture.

I too liked Eddie Izzard and seriously wonder what has happened to him. Seems he's been swept up into the madness because it flatters his cross dressing autogynephilic side.

Now that being a gay man is so mainstream and, largely, socially acceptable - many men have abandoned their feelings of friendship and camaraderie with women, in favour of enjoying and exploiting their masculine privilege.

lookatallthepeaches · 06/05/2019 09:16

Actually not quite, maybe 99%

There are other places where 99% of women disagree. Both places are echo chambers.

FloralBunting · 06/05/2019 09:15

peaches, what exactly are you arguing for here? You've said that you're gender critical, ok, so why are you dismissing women having a very firm line on Eddie wandering in to the Ladies for his validation power kick? Are you suggesting every toilet facility be redesigned? Because that particular conversation is a trip down capitulation lane, you do know that, right? The only reason we would be doing it is because some blokes decided we shouldn't have single sex facilities anymore.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 06/05/2019 09:14

I agree with don

Terf isnt banned...calling someone else a terf is

If you think everyone believes your 'I'm just trying to find a counter argument, because everyone out there disagrees with you', you're very much mistaken.

No one buys it.
