MN have deleted the thread started by Maya - who lost her job for speaking up for women- because it talks about her crowdfunding for legal costs

Here is today's times article on the case https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/tax-expert-fired-for-saying-trans-women-aren-t-women-tpqgnm9vj?shareToken=3f12f5cae61c02fd41040eb816fd37b4&wgu=2705255426441557045162977940f0d76fa1&wgexpiry=1564821162&utmmsource=planit&utmmedium=affiliate&utmm_content=22278

welshgendercrit · 05/05/2019 20:37

Pleased to see the wonderful Martina has contributed to that which must not be mentioned and tweeted about it. Huge amounts of support out there.

Sexnotgender · 05/05/2019 20:35

Can’t believe Martina donated, amazing!

OvaHere · 05/05/2019 20:28

Martina donated and tweeted about the thing. Smile

Keeptrudging · 05/05/2019 20:10

My favourite post re this on twitter is the one which says "Women are angry". Damn right.

RepealTheGRA · 05/05/2019 20:07

I am particularly inspired by people who disagree with Maya’s viewpoint but are supporting her from a free speech POV. Smile

Genderfreelass · 05/05/2019 20:05

Loon

Personally I hope Maya's support exceeds all targets by a huge amount. I can't support today but will most definitely be supporting within the time frame and im probably not the only supporter in that position. I hope support absolutely skyrockets and shows those that disagree that we are not such an insignificant number but that we are in fact very very significant. The more significant we are the more we will be noticed and the bigger we will grow.

DpWm · 05/05/2019 19:37

I think you've used a double negative there by mistake?

greenlloon · 05/05/2019 19:34

this is what annoys me people at the moment where i work can say what they like they dont get disciplined. but people do not have there contract renewed without explanation to them all the time.

Justhadathought · 05/05/2019 19:32

a legitimate question when she first made the post target 30,000 she says I am crowdfunding for expenses to pay for legal representation to take this case to employment tribunal, if you read that and saw the target at 30,000 you would think it cost 30,000 to take to employment tribunal. it should of been explained before hand that this did not include a full merits hearing.

I'm sure whatever is left over can go into a fund to fight, the inevitable, other cases when they crop up.

DpWm · 05/05/2019 19:31

On CrowdJustice the targets are automatically set then automatically rise after the target is met.... Amateurs....

R0wantrees · 05/05/2019 19:31

You will find explanation and hopefully reassurance in the FAQs:

Nice one prawn. I have never seen that before. 💪💪🔥🔥🥂

RepealTheGRA · 05/05/2019 19:28

Sometimes I wonder if I’m too thick to be posting on this board. Then the AWAs rock up and restore my faith in my own intelligence.

JessicaWakefieldSV · 05/05/2019 19:23

greenlloon go and read the update! I might report your posts though because you shouldn’t be referring to the thing we can’t mention.

greenlloon · 05/05/2019 19:21

What on earth has it got to do with you?

Adding my support. Great to see how much support has been given so far.

TalkingintheDark · 05/05/2019 19:11

That was to Floisme btw

TalkingintheDark · 05/05/2019 19:10

😂😂😂

Perhaps they were confused and meant “No debates in development”?

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 05/05/2019 19:09

I feel impelled to post this fierce joyful anthem which sums up today's events:

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 05/05/2019 19:08

what happens to the excess money

What on earth has it got to do with you?

Floisme · 05/05/2019 19:07

In yet more comedy gold, the hard-of-thinking-tank's pinned tweet is about their new online discussion forum, called and I kid you not, 'Debates in Development.'

JessicaWakefieldSV · 05/05/2019 19:04

I love that women spending their money the way they want to, to support other women, really irritates certain people. He he Grin

TalkingintheDark · 05/05/2019 19:03

Maya, you have my utmost respect and admiration. Behind you all the way.

Those comments from HR about your tweets make me so angry. Like others, I find the concept that “TWAW” to be both offensive and exclusionary to women - when male-born people can access single sex spaces/services designated for women, some or even many women are of necessity then excluded from the very spaces/services that were intended for us.

But nobody cares how much women are offended by misogynist transgenderist ideology. Double standard as rock solid as ever.

Actually, I believe the ideology to be not just offensive but downright [emotionally] abusive; it’s staggering and sickening that standing against what I sincerely believe to be actual abuse should be demonised, and the [emotional] abusers rewarded by society, and placed on a pedestal.

As others have said, no one is in danger of losing their job because they promote the damaging untruth that “TWAW”.

Anyway, bloody well done Maya, and best of luck to you - to all of us!

sackrifice · 05/05/2019 19:03

why has the target gone from 10,000 to 60,000 surely she was told it would cost 10 thousand for legal representation so made that the target what happens to the excess money. and i said before in the other thread there is no way she wins the case first her contract was not renewed employers can do that

a - the target increases automatically once a milestone is hit
b - are you calling Maya a liar? She wouldn't be able to take it to a tribunal if she didn't have a case.

2nd she said she shared drafts with colleagues. that is not appropriate in a work place colleagues should be allowed to focus on their work and You are allowed to share things with colleagues

thirdly It must be a belief and not an opinion or viewpoint based on the present state of information available Biology is not an opinion.

The question is - why are you so upset about this? Do you not think women are allowed their own opinion? Or that they are not entitled to take an employer to tribunal, or perhaps even have a job?

They can't take you to a tribunal if you never leave the kitchen or bedroom AMIRITE?
