🤞for Caroline

MoleSmokes · 02/05/2019 14:33

Thanks for the clarification @GirlDownUnder - that's a relief!

AncientLights · 02/05/2019 14:25

Thinking of you Caroline. Flowers

WeepingWillowWeepingWino · 02/05/2019 14:03

Good luck caro.

BlackeyedGruesome · 02/05/2019 13:57

High court time. Good luck.

GirlDownUnder · 02/05/2019 06:46

Mole a persons comments are not deleted on their banning, so what you saw was legit.

I believe the only time MN wipes all comments made by a poster, is if that poster requests it.

MoleSmokes · 02/05/2019 06:41

People who have been around Mumsnet longer than I have, if someone was banned from MN, eg. for trolling, would their posts be deleted too?

Asking because after a certain person was banned, I came across some posts by that person. I didn't think much of it at the time and I can't remember what the title of the thread was but it was in the Feminist Chat area.

I had never seen anything posted by that person before so I don't know if the posts were from the banned account or if they were from a different account. It was obvious from the posts and replies who was posting. The user name started "st . . " I think and maybe ended with a number.

Sorry to be so vague but I wasn't paying much attention at the time - I just clocked it and thought, "Oh - that's the banned troll-person."

The posts were made before the troll was banned.

The costs of GL were 28k unfortunately, and SH claimed “victory” since SH self-repped and had minimal costs. But “Drop hands” cost orders are not victories.

I don’t get why SH didn’t just block CF on all platforms? When I wanted nothing more to do with someone (totally different scenario- dodgy ex) that’s what I did.

It’s all very weird.

ZebrasAreBras · 02/05/2019 03:05

I doubt it cost glinner 28k either. I would expect 28k was an estimate of the costs if it went to court - so barrister's fees for appearing on the day etc.

TheGoalIsToStayOutOfTheHole · 02/05/2019 02:45

Somebody called Hetty Spoon is tweeting the woman who started Caro's crowdfunder. Telling her to that there are far worthier causes for the money to go to, and linking to another GoFundMe page for a disabled child.

I wonder if this misogynist wanker who I see a lot on these kinds of threads ever tweets other TRAs telling them to remove their paypal links and such as there are much better causes for people to donate to. Hmm

I am fairly sure it did not cost Linehan 28k? Thought that was Steph being..well Steph?

SpiderSocks · 01/05/2019 17:47

The horrible blog has heavily emphasised that it's Court 37 and I wondered why...

The Interim Applications Court (known as ‘Court 37’) deals with applications for orders pending the final trial of a case in the Queen’s Bench Division of the High Court at the Royal Courts of Justice – for example, for an injunction preventing the disclosure of confidential information, working for a rival employer, the disposal of money or property (a ‘freezing order’) or for an order requiring documentary disclosure by another party.

That begs the question of what is the Queen's Bench Division...

The work of the Division consists of crime, claims for damages in respect of personal injuries, negligence, breach of contract, libel and slander (defamation), non payment of debt and possession of land property.

So is this just a preparatory thing and actually this isn't an anti-harrassment thing it's a precursor to a defamation trial?! Sorry my understanding of the system is pretty rubbish.

This whole thing just makes me incandescent with rage and I am so, so sorry for what Caro and her family are going through.

Also those talking about left over money... They're also gleefully repeating that it cost Graham Linehan £28,000 so I'm really not sure there's going to be much left over despite so much generosity Sad

PurpleCrowbar · 01/05/2019 12:58

Can I have the link too please? Ffs. Wankers.

FloralBunting · 01/05/2019 11:32

Spoon has always a proper AWA delight. Never saw a genuine cause for women that she didn't think was worth pouring scorn all over. The perfect example to show you don't have to be a bloke to be a raging misogynist.

WeepingWillowWeepingWino · 01/05/2019 11:24

they must think that silly mummies aren't capable of doing more than one thing as a time. They certainly wouldn't think that some of those silly mummies might even be the parent of a disabled child, would they?

Fuckwits, the lot of them.

TRA sure like telling other people what to do. Emotional blackmail is their weapon of choice.

Agree with Zebra, the good doctor is talking bollocks.

And they cannot see Caro’s PayPal and that’s where most of the funds are going Flowers

Yet another requesting the link by pm- I am too suspicious to believe that a Google search won't be played. I cant donate much but I can and will show my support. If I was near London I'd be down at the court Thursday.

Pandamodium · 30/04/2019 21:30

Donated via her website/PayPal as I missed the link.

I have my angry eyebrow up according to DH.

This is straight up harassment of Carrow and I am unspeakably angry. I know the worlds gone batshit so we can't call it what it is two absolute vile and downright dangerous men harassing a women who dare not agree with them. We can't say that through unfortunately.

Carrow you have support more then you know I have disagreed (politely) with some of your views in the past but I will defend yours and anyone else's right to there opinions even if they conflict with my own.

Generally speaking, the discretion will not be exercised against “pure funders”, i.e. “those with no personal interest in the litigation, who do not stand to benefit from it, are not funding it as a matter of business, and in no way seek to control its course”.
