A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a 22 year old woman who has died after falling from a tower block.

If this thread was truly to take off, to represent in real time what happens to women, it would go too quickly to offer flowers (a minimal emoji to give the biggest empathy you could imagine) to all of you. So the flowers stand for all those women, and their family, friends and lovers who have been harmed by the same violence.

TangyToms oh my god, I am so sorry. That must of been terrifying. I hope you’re okay now. I have bad anxiety and claustrophobia from my fathers horrible tempers, I can’t imagine what you went through. So sorry Flowers

Fucking awful Sad my abusive ex held me over the railing of our 12th floor balcony...I will never forget the fear I felt, I'm terrified of heights now. RIP Annabelle Flowers I hope the fucker that done this gets a lengthy sentence...but I doubt it Angry

This is a similar case where a young woman, Jourdain John-Baptiste fell from a balcony with her partner present that the CPS wouldn't prosecute which is being challenged by Jourdain's mother, and the brilliant Centre for Women's Justice. There was a hearing last week and arguments were put for the decision not to prosecute to be reconsidered. A ruling will be made at a later date.

I feel really helpless when I read stuff like this. I saw NZ media refer to domestic abuse as an ‘off field incident’, as the guy played rugby.
My Dad was never held responsible for my stepmothers suicide, brought on by hideous horrible abuse. He isolated her completely on their remote farm for at least 7 months. I just cannot stand women dying like this. Sad
