How can he be so obtuse? I can only assume he has never spent time with children?

Oh man, I hope that when society wakes up to this that this loser will be hung out to dry and that there will be no let-up of holding him to account. I think it will probably take 10-15 years or so but I am pretty sure it will happen. Section 28 was not about medicalising kids and telling them a falsehood, making them infertile and rendering them susceptible to cancers and other diseases. This has nothing to do with gay people. It’s more like the forced doping scandal in East Germany, which had tragic results. Except on an even larger scale and with younger subjects. And the comparison with gay people was used by PIE in the 70s and 80s and back then, many liberal leftists wholly supported them and felt that they were unfairly targeted.

I know revenge is a dish best served cold and I can’t wait to see his smug face when he is forced to take responsibility for what he was a big part of.

How can he be so obtuse?

Nope. He's quite clever and just following the same model of self employment as Katie Hopkins, Rachel McKinnon, Titania McGrath etc (though at least Titania is open about it).

None of these people really believe all the stuff they write. They don't spend time and energy carefully considering their position. They write whatever is zeitgeisty with the market segment they have targeted and try to be as controversial as possible to get attention.

He's just a Katie Price for people who shop at Waitrose.

nauticant · 08/04/2019 10:35

That Aaron Bastani twitter thread is worth reading for the responses JoanWilliams75. He's confident that since people have been conditioned to respond correctly they will do so, but wait, what's this? What are all these people doing responding in ways that don't follow their conditioning?

OvaHere · 08/04/2019 10:27

Joan

It's a modern day version of this

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lysenkoism

More than 3,000 mainstream biologists were fired or even sent to prison and numerous scientists were executed as part of a campaign instigated by Lysenko to suppress his scientific opponents.

ZebrasAreBras · 08/04/2019 10:26

I get real neo-soviet vibes from these two idiots.

Yup. All gender critical women are to be sent to Gulag for re-education and indoctrination Wink

ZebrasAreBras · 08/04/2019 10:25

Why's he picking on Kent commuters? Confused

The Times is a National paper.

JoanWilliams75 · 08/04/2019 10:11

Aaron Bastani too.

I get real neo-soviet vibes from these two idiots. "Anything I don't like is fascism!!! let's use the the state to stop people from saying what they think and feel!!! NHS whistleblowers are right wing imposters hell bent on crushing the oppressed !!!!!!!!!!!"

There is absolutely no reason why a 3 year old needs to transition. It's a parents projection for sure. The parents need a psychological evaluation.

Micaela64 · 08/04/2019 10:01

He must have some sort of internalised homophobia going on, always putting hardline religious types and transgender people above his own.

DonaldTwain · 08/04/2019 09:59

I think he’s wonderful. Apart from susie green and Rachel mckinnon, I cant think of anyone more adept at showing the lunacy behind trans ideology to the general public.
I think he should get an award.

lottiebel123 · 08/04/2019 09:58

by the look of it, he didn't read the Times article before he denounced it as TRANSPHOBIA!!!!

Popchyk · 08/04/2019 09:57

Gay conversion therapy for children is always fine and must never be challenged.

To do so makes you a bigot.

Signed, Owen Jones. Gay man. 2019.

OvaHere · 08/04/2019 09:56

LOJ is the left wing version of a dog whistler. Attempting to link bigotry against Muslims with an article about clinicians who are concerned about the health of children is pathetic and transparent.

I'm fairly sure he has not read the articles nor has a Times subscription to do so, even though I would have thought it important for all journalists to follow a range of sources.

AncientLights · 08/04/2019 09:54

I'm sure you are right, JoanWilliams75 but that won't stop OJ from thinking he knows all about them.
