How can he be so obtuse? I can only assume he has never spent time with children?

It looks to me like they attacked him specifically. It must have been very frightening.

Datun · 18/08/2019 00:09

filmed

Datun · 18/08/2019 00:09

Awful. Bloody awful. Mindless thugs. I hope they were filed on CCTV.

Floisme · 17/08/2019 23:57

That’s shocking. Best wishes to Owen Jones.

TemporaryPermanent · 17/08/2019 23:09

He won't want my good wishes but he has them in spades. What a horrific attack. Sounds like sheer luck that he's not having to be in hospital.

ChattyLion · 17/08/2019 22:59

Just seen this on BBC and was coming on to wish Owen Jones all the very best and to hope that they find his attackers very quickly. What an absolutely horrific experience for him.

Oh, this is really dreadful news. Scary times, indeed.

Butterymuffin · 17/08/2019 22:36

Yes, I have lots of points of disagreement with OJ but physically attacking him is awful and a worrying development. I hope they can find and charge the attackers.

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 17/08/2019 22:31

I was shocked to see this report: not clear whether it was generalised violence, homophobic violence or someone targeting Owen jones. I hope he is ok.

KatvonHostileExtremist · 17/08/2019 22:24

Bloody hell, some thugs beaten Owen Jones up.

I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Scary times

" Has Amrou come out as a parody?"

My guess is that he is actually Sacha Baron Cohen

Cismyfatarse1 · 09/04/2019 12:27

Amarou appeared at the Fringe as part of Denim the Reunion. The group is definitely parody. Not sure if Amarou is gay but others in the group are straight Etonians parodying Drag / Celebrity culture.

VickyEadie · 09/04/2019 12:10

Goodness me, I hadn't seen that before. I have little time for either OJ or JHB, though both (like the proverbial stopped clock) occasionally say things I agree with.

I was sort of with him when he was trying to make the point that it was, indeed, a homophobic attack, but his behaviour was sub 10-year-old petulant hissy-fit.

Amarou the gender queer parody who went to Eton. The joke is very much on little OJ.

Rubidium · 08/04/2019 23:25

How old is OJ?

I believe he turns 35 this year. So for someone who supposedly represents The Voice Of Youth, he's knocking on a bit.

BarbieJellyBabyBrain · 08/04/2019 22:59

How old is OJ? He really reminds me of my 13 year old nephew when he is having a strop, it's uncanny! Grin

donquixotedelamancha · 08/04/2019 22:40

What struck me about LOJ's flounce is that he looked to be getting irritated every time Julia spoke, even when she was making good points about gun control and not blaming Muslims.

He seemed upset that he was not dominant and then leapt on her 'shouldn't speculate too much' comments as denying the shooting was homophobic.

I think his 'oh you are going to have an LGBT voice' was passive aggression that weren't making it about him. If not, why leave when they were reading a quote from Stonewall?

DonaldTwain · 08/04/2019 22:19

Also, the presenter’s real dislike of him was palpable. He really is just the most awful person. Imagine how unbearable it must be to have him as a colleague.

DonaldTwain · 08/04/2019 22:17

Interesting clip. The need to control female speech is pathological with these people, isn’t it.

The flounce and its build up can be seen here:
It was after the Orlando nightclub shooting

theOtherPamAyres · 08/04/2019 20:50

It was on Sky News, the late evening review programme. I didn't know who he was at the time

He flounced off with great drama when Julia Hartley-Brewer Flowers contradicted him.

Both Manchester and Trafford voted remain
