Banana pancakes

A wonderful breakfast thread to ensure all the good women of fwr start the day right with substance and not just dross. I’ve already failed and partaken in consuming shite but it might not be too late for lots of you!

I like making egg free pancakes by substituting the eggs fro mashed bananas- works a treat.

I favour this recipe cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/3038-one-ingredient-banana-ice-cream which I do as:

Put 4 bananas in freezer
several months later: remember bananas, remove them and peel (surprisingly easy)
Put in blender

Serve as ice cream.

Skin the bananas, cut in half (half a frozen banana is enough for one milkshake serving), then freeze

My favourite is banana, smooth peanut butter and almond milk. It's the actual drink of the gods, in case you didn't know.

As a woman I obviously wear a lovely pink apron whilst making banana pancakes for my bemuscled, wifebeater wearing dh otherwise Cheesecake Fairy Dart (our gendernonconforming dit) wouldn't know which of us was which

Freeze them in their skins? Or slice and freeze them after peeling? This thread is quite an eye opener

Yes, great in shakes of smoothies. I like banana, dates, peanut butter and cashew milk

Yes! I usually blend up the banana, milk etc and then add dry ingredients.

Frozen bananas whizzed up with some milk and some chocolate ovaltine powder or a splodge of honey. Makes a great milkshake. My kids love em, and is a good way to save bananas that are on the turn

It pains me to admit you're correct Lang, I'd force it down rather than partake of the other...DO NOT however, regard this as victory.

Imao bananas are only good for two things - banana bread and banoffee pie.

How many monkeys can dance on the head of a pin, that's my philosophical question for today...

I've never frozen bananas before!!

I am going to give it a go - we go through a lot, but since the household has shrunk, it is harder to buy the right amount.

You can indeed freeze bananas, ripe of course. I slice first, and then make ice cream with them, adding all sorts of things for different flavours.

Yes, a good egg substitute that I like in my pancakes... but DD does not!
