A wonderful breakfast thread to ensure all the good women of fwr start the day right with substance and not just dross. I’ve already failed and partaken in consuming shite but it might not be too late for lots of you!

I like making egg free pancakes by substituting the eggs fro mashed bananas- works a treat.

Yorkshire pudding and syrup? What sorcery is this?

Lymphy · 04/04/2019 20:06

Grin! After digging around some other recipes, I’ve found the desired missing ingredient I needed. I have to say it’s glorious.

FloralBunting · 04/04/2019 19:48

I’ve missed something this morning haven't I?

I love that the alarm bell signal in FWR is a recipe thread.

It's so delightfully understated and classy. We're like Miss Marple - the quietly unnoticed and therefore dismissed woman in the background who conceals the sharpest wit in the room.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 04/04/2019 19:44

I've never made nor eaten a Yorkshire pudding. I shall investigate them and the Dutch baby.

The apple muffins turned out well.

I’ve missed something this morning haven’t I? Wink

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 04/04/2019 16:15

I love a yorkshire pudding and syrup

Haven't had it for years

Howyoualldoworkme · 04/04/2019 15:04

Ooh Yorkshire pudding with golden syrup. My gran used to give us that.
I had a cream tea with golden syrup instead of jam in Devizes. They called it Thunder and Lightning.

Now I like the taste of banana but not the consistency. Same with pears.

terryleather · 04/04/2019 15:00

Absolutely Errol, it's the same thing - and Yorkshire Pudding with golden syrup is delish.

I'd top my apple baby off with a drizzle of toffee sauce over the ice cream too.

I'm soooo bloody hungry now...

ErrolTheDragon · 04/04/2019 14:52

Or if you CBA to find out what exactly a 'Dutch baby' is, just make a big Yorkshire pud. GrinWe used to have them with golden syrup but apple sauce would be nice too.

TinselAngel · 04/04/2019 14:50

And we'll all be desperate for a bit of WBH come a no deal Brexit. (And I don't even like bananas).

TinselAngel · 04/04/2019 14:49

OMG terry, who knew a baby could look so appetisingShock?

terryleather · 04/04/2019 14:16

Floral Stand firm against the WBH!

terryleather · 04/04/2019 14:15

Stew your wizened apples with some orange juice and a bit of brown sugar & ginger.

Serve it as an accompaniment to a Dutch Baby ,a giant puffy pancake/batter type dessert from America, along with scoops of ice cream

FloralBunting · 04/04/2019 13:59

I am so fecking freezing today I am seriously considering WBH. I fear the end times are approaching.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 04/04/2019 13:20

Have we exhausted banana pancake recipes? Cos I've just discovered a bag of wizened apples that got put away with the potatoes for some reason and now I need to do something other than muffins with them.

noraclavicle · 04/04/2019 11:13

Ah, ToastyFingers that is known as a ‘Happy Coffee.’ It was introduced to me when I was much younger (surreptitiously, natch) by a fabulous, feisty woman at work as we manned (womanned?) a reception desk Grin

LordWheresMyShoes · 04/04/2019 11:08

Damn look what you made me do.

Banana omlette with raspberry compote in case you're wondering about the dubious red mark on the edge of the pancake it's raspberry not blood

Motherforkin I forgot about the radicalisation portal! Just had a read through of it and chuckled all over again.

Wrybread · 04/04/2019 10:53

Thanks Tinsel Angel Smile

Sexnotgender · 04/04/2019 10:38

I wish I wasn’t allergic to bananas.

Banana milkshake made with fresh bananas and vanilla ice cream is delicious.

I probably could have one I’m not crazy allergic, I’d just vomit and feel dreadful afterwards.

DpWm · 04/04/2019 10:38

Marmite.
And Philadelphia.
On toast.

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 04/04/2019 10:37

Blueblueyellow

That’s why I blend the bananas and milk first, then it’s smooth.

TinselAngel · 04/04/2019 10:36

Wry, you flip an American style pancake when the side that is uppermost starts to bubble.

YogaDrone · 04/04/2019 10:36

I use buttermilk so I guess they're American? Or possibly genderfree Canandian as we have them with maple syrup and blueberries.

Sometimes I'll let DS have banana and Nutella instead but he has to have said at least 3 feminist supporting things first Grin

Dhama · 04/04/2019 10:33

Mashed banana sandwiches are the absolute best.

Closely followed by giant chocolate buttons inserted into a banana that is then cooked in foil for 10 minutes.

All this banana talk over the last few days has forced me out of lurking
