A wonderful breakfast thread to ensure all the good women of fwr start the day right with substance and not just dross. I’ve already failed and partaken in consuming shite but it might not be too late for lots of you!

I like making egg free pancakes by substituting the eggs fro mashed bananas- works a treat.

Oh, I photograph all of mine, Eroll Blush I love the idea of being crafty but I'm shit at it so being not terrible at cake decorating is my back up so I like to keep a picture for posterity. Dd's 4th birthday though... I spent a full 20 hours decorating and making sugar paste super heroes for her cake. It was a master piece. I failed to back up my phone before it fell in a drain and died Sad

I’m on a 5:2 fast day. Just eaten tea and still sodding hungry. All your lovely recipes and dessert pics is not helping.

I’d even eat banana weetabix at the moment!

Back on topic I knew you could freeze bananas but have always frozen them skin on and they’ve been a bugger to peel when I used them Grin

We did once have a go at modelling our pet in cake. He's a dachshund so really it was just a Swiss roll with pretensions.

I think if I'd been asked to make an 'earth' cake I'd have created something that looked like a mud pie.

Actually, all the birthday cakes I ever made were chocolate cakes smothered in simple chocolate fudge icing. I don't really get why anyone would spend time decorating a cake with anything else.Grin

Rufus like the cake! Minecraft seems very suited to cake form.

One year DC asked for an "Earth" cake, which I thought sounded doable, imaging a nice 8 inch cake decorated with blue and green icing, and as I started to agree and say that would be find, he fixed me with a paddington bear stare and uttered a solitary word - sphere.

They were learning all about 3D shapes at school, the bastards. The cake took me bloody ages.

Mandarins are lovely. I am even willing to believe they would be nice in a warm pudding.

But citrus fruit and hot milk is just flat wrong. That's like a fast track emetic concoction.
