Apparently telling women to 'die in a grease fire' is hate speech. Who knew?

Have a great weekend everyone!!

So their Instagram only has the second tweet, I don’t have a screenshot of the first one which definitely said ‘ I’m more specific, I want then to die in a grease fire’.

Just also, Men’s health Uk just did a story on trans athletes and how they’re not at a disadvantage, with McKinnon getting special mention and a whole bit on the abuse they get etc it’s on their IG inc photo of Mckinnon. I’m not on IG but if someone else wants to tell them about this... include screenshots

AfterSchoolWorry · 29/03/2019 19:09

Yay!

Fool of a person.

Flurgle · 29/03/2019 19:08

Hold on- she’s lying about what she said?
There are screenshots of the tweet, right?

MrsJamin · 29/03/2019 19:07

@Floisme don't you know who she is?! Wink

MrsJamin · 29/03/2019 19:07

Do you think the BBC will keep phoning McKinnon up for comment on women's sport after this? Because obviously I think they shouldn't but they might!

Floisme · 29/03/2019 19:00

Who is Rachel Mckinnon? Wink

OdeToDiazepam · 29/03/2019 19:00

Great news!

GassyAss · 29/03/2019 19:00

I might have to lurk around McKinnons Instagram now to report hate speech there. No doubt that will be the next portal of vile, misogynist nuggets for RM.
Since I got suspended from
twitter for saying Ian Huntley is a man, this doesn’t half feel like a victory today.

OhHolyJesus · 29/03/2019 19:00

Wow that is great news!

Nephilim1964 · 29/03/2019 18:58

Let's hope that Madigan and Hayden go the same way. And soon.

Oh that’s made my weekend!

CaptainMarvelBunting · 29/03/2019 18:57

That's both delightful news for anyone who wants to see threatening and abusive language towards women dealt with, though scratching the surface of course, and really bad news for the people around McKinnon who will be forced to absorb all that petulant rage.

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 29/03/2019 18:56

Just came looking for your insights. Glimmer seems to be saying it's a permanent suspension.

Have a good weekend all.

NeutralJanet · 29/03/2019 18:55

Rachel claims that the tweet said Rachel did NOT want "transphobes" to die in a grease fire. Rachel is full of shit.

GassyAss · 29/03/2019 18:52

This has made my day!

Nephilim1964 · 29/03/2019 18:50

Even if it's just a short suspension, at least it's sending McKinnon a message that hateful language is not acceptable.

I thought it was about the oil sticking to the women and they can't put it out.

Although it's probably one of those suspensions where you just have to delete said tweet and the account is restored so there might not be much respite.

No it's a permanent suspension. But I suspect Rach will find a way back in some way.

Ereshkigal · 29/03/2019 18:48

A fire caused by cooking oil id guess. Like a big chip fat pan fire.

rocketromano · 29/03/2019 18:47

It’s a good day all round Grin

AnyFucker · 29/03/2019 18:47

greasefire

My fingers slipped as I punched the air then.

OvaHere · 29/03/2019 18:47

About time abusive threats against women were taken seriously.

Although it's probably one of those suspensions where you just have to delete said tweet and the account is restored so there might not be much respite.
