If Glinner is such an 'ally' why is he working only with white men?

I'm a GC feminist, but I do find all the fawning around Graham Linehan to be pathetic. He's barely given a peep about women's rights in the past, and suddenly he's jumped on the anti-TRA bandwagon, centering himself in what is and should a women-led movement (i.e. feminism).
The last straw for me is seeing fellow feminists fawn over this tweet - he posits himself as an ally, yet shows 0 interest in opening up the world of comedy beyond the thoughts of white men.

Your opening post is rude and extremely patronising and downright sexist, as has several of your other comments. You started this post, what did you really expect to happen? For women here to just take it? If you don’t want to answer questions and back up what you’re saying, why did you post?

So what does one have to do to be considered an 'ally'? I think he's raised a lot of awareness and at considerable personal cost too. Is your claim that he isn't based on one photo, or do you have other evidence?

littlbrowndog seems like I am what? I think that feminism is more than just individuals, and that the collective discussion of ideas is important. I was positing the idea that Glinner is not as much of an ally as he presents himself and perhaps he should be centered less within the context of the anti-TRA feminist movement.

Glinner has been great about using his twitter account to amplify so many different GC voices, so it doesn’t seem to me like he centers himself.
I was impressed by one tweet where someone asked him why he chose this issue to focus on when there are so many other pressing issues.
He answered (something like) it’s because he thinks this is an issue where he might be able to make an actual difference.

Honestly, I don't get it. Graham Linehan does not call himself the feminist to end all feminists.

He is a fantastic mouthpiece over this issue as he has thousands of followers and is a highly respected comedy writer. The fact he can poke fun at it is incredibly useful and effective.

He has gone above and beyond, to the tune of £28,000, whilst dealing with cancer. And he hasn't backed down, despite tremendous pressure.

All for zero personal gain. This won't affect his privacy, dignity or safety in the slightest.

So yes, I'm going to thank him and support him. Partly because I think it's very well done, and partly because why on earth wouldn't you.

littlbrowndog you are allowed to post wherever you wish. I'm a feminist, I believe collectivism is important and I'm critical of Graham Linehan. I can't allow or disallow you from doing anything

Do you agree with this? Sure - this is quite minimal in the grand scheme of things and not a red line. If however you opposed abortion rights then I'm afraid we are not allies in any sense

Datun but he frames it that way which is precisely my point.

He talks about women's rights in terms of transactivism. Women do have rights in terms of transactivism. That's what he is dealing with.
