A school holding a pride parade? That sounds lovely and inclusive. The placards are a tad worrying though...

This culture of litigation is awful. But I agree with what has been said - given that the knee jerk reaction of TRAs is consistently threats of violence, intimidation and threats to 'sue' it won't be until there are some legal precedents that we will ever have clarity.
Schools need to understand that they have a duty to remain neutral - promoting British values but not promoting political lobby group's views / wishes. Sadly it appears that those with money are the excessively well funded T groups and religious groups.

  • welcome her threat to sue, to be honest, though I hate this culture of litigation.

One of the main reasons the TRA agenda has progressed so successfully, is 'cause they are constantly threatening legal action.

We need to fight fire with fire, alas.*

Could not agree more.

I do agree with your basic feelings but I also think things have gone too far just by drift and inertia. The stakes need to be raised and unfortunately a sizeable compensation claim is one of the only options. It's a signal to all organisations not just schools and unfortunately it's only Christian groups I wouldn't usually support who have the funds for litigation. I've signed petitions, written to my MP replied to consultations and still the trans juggernaut rolls on with the aid of gov grants and lottery money.

AstonishedFemalePersonator · 26/03/2019 10:50

Sorry - school's not schools.

AstonishedFemalePersonator · 26/03/2019 10:50

I don't care if the organization are Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu etc but what I am concerned about is compensation culture.

As soon as someone starts demanding money I am sceptical of their reasons. Particularly in this case where the parent in question is apparently demanding a five-figure sum, which is a considerable amount of money. That means less money for resources for the school.

And, yes, I am aware that it is the school's insurer who will be responsible for the sum. But the schools insurance premium will go up meaning that there is less money in the budget for more important resources.

And the money will only go to enrich the organization. Cui bono?

Ohh hang on.. is it the Christian Legal Centre Hmm involved in this?
this small group have had a serious amount of questions asked about them.

Just from a quick google: this instance with reference to their working with the parents in the Alfie Evans case

I’m not saying the school in this case should not have questions asked too btw.

categed · 25/03/2019 21:40

I suspect prior lessons had focused on issues people have around sexed toilets, rather than if you could dream anything what would it be...
However i think this is what was really meant...

ToeToToe · 25/03/2019 19:50

No girl I've ever known - since I was a 6yr old girl myself, to now, when I have my own young daughter - has ever expressed a wish to share toilets with boys.

Agree the spelling mistakes are well suspect. An adult wrote that.

AGnu · 25/03/2019 18:39

DS1 (7yo) - "My dream is to go to Legoland hotel." Already booked but he doesn't know yet.
DS2 (5yo) - "I want to play with my baby sister." What he was doing at the time.

Maybe I should make them some signs & teach them to ponder existential issues... Or I could just let them be kids...

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 25/03/2019 18:23

When DS was little if I’d asked it would have been to be a motorcycle police officer and to have a big dog. Deffo not to go into the girls loos!

TheGoalIsToStayOutOfTheHole · 25/03/2019 18:19

I asked my Year 1 daughter "what's your dream?"
Her response was " I want to ride a unicorn"

My daughter (6) apparently wants to be a princess.
And my son (4) wants to...eat some peas Hmm

I think we can grant one of the wishes now, though he will have moved on my the time they are cooked. Dream shattered as silly mother cannot perform miracles nor does she wish to give child a handful of peas still frozen.

TheGoalIsToStayOutOfTheHole · 25/03/2019 17:57

No 4 year kid ever has dreams about sharing loos with boys ffs

Indeed. What a pile of shit.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 25/03/2019 12:45

Oh I didn’t see the blog

If asked at that age - me dreams would have been:

Being chased by the nazis (a recurring dream in childhood)
Flying
Owning a farm

drspouse · 25/03/2019 12:24

LordProf as to why they've written that specific wording, if you look at the blog above, there are several in this format.
But as to why they think this is a good dream, that's not coming from them.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 25/03/2019 12:02

Even if that was the sentiment of a small child (aside from the who wrote it issue), why would they ‘have a dream’? What are they being told?

When I was primary one I was indignant about things like people tying up dogs or not allowing shorter children on fairground rides. I hated people lying or teasing. Who is telling small kids that this issue is the Disgrace of the Century and up and down the country small boys are weeping at the injustice of not being able to pee with the girls. And let’s face it - a number of the boys will be trying to peek at the girls knickers.

drspouse · 25/03/2019 09:52

I assume that's a girl with that sign, unless it's a boy who's been told he's a girl because he's got long hair.

surely the vast majority of parents in the country would object to the teaching of trans ideology, and surely if they band together and simply refuse, something could be done?

They don't know it's going on.
Or they think it's not kind to talk about it.
Or they think what harm can a small boy who wants be a girl do, if he wears dresses and goes in the girls' loo.
Or they say "well I don't want stereotyping taught but if someone wants to be trans I don't want to stop them".
Or they have a really good male friend who transitioned to live as a woman in the 80s and is happily married to their (gay) husband.
Or they actually think that people can change sex because they don't really get what gender reassignment surgery is.
Or they think that all trans adults have had GRS and hormone treatment and think they are "as good as" the opposite sex.

Lamaha · 25/03/2019 07:02

But surely the vast majority of parents in the country would object to the teaching of trans ideology, and surely if they band together and simply refuse, something could be done? And surely Mumsnet is the place to instigate such a mass protest? What about a petition? I can't believe that most parents, mothers especially, think this is a good idea. Most parents are delighted with their little boys/little girls and don't want it put into their heads that it's possible to change sex.
There would be a mass protest if flat-earth theory were to be introduced into schools, or creationism. This is no better.

Oliversmumsarmy · 25/03/2019 06:44

If that is the girls dream, wasn’t there a boys dream for girls to use male toilets or does the dream only go one way.

thenightsky · 24/03/2019 18:56

zanahoria Grin

zanahoria · 24/03/2019 18:46

perhaps it was written by an adult who has transitioned to a child?

JackyHolyoake · 24/03/2019 18:43

Maybe the teachers in that school needs to read the Trans Widows pages here on Mumsnet?

They will soon learn how these male adults are using children as a human shield to obscure their sexual behaviours on the basis of "If it happens to children it can't be sexual can it?

RepealTheGRA · 24/03/2019 18:25

Yep, the story here is the unprofessionalism and gross incompetence of the school.

qumquat · 24/03/2019 18:22

Ok just seen it's from yr1 so more plausibly written by a child. Still totally sinister

qumquat · 24/03/2019 18:19

I have a 4yo and get a lot of birthday cards in 4yo writing. This is not it. But that's just doubly weird. Why did an adult pretend to be a child to write it?
