This article is just incredible. To use the recent NZ atrocity date for some blatant muslim berating is bad enough but to do it as a disguise for attacking anyone who dares cross Susie Hurty Feelz Green is just revolting.

Susie, the murdered and their families are more important than you. Show some respect.

Seriously, just when I think the woke couldn't get any worse there is a barrage of anti muslim sentiment being pushed this week of all weeks. The "it's just like gay rights" effort hasn't worked in the past and it won't work now. So so sick of TRAs seeking to undermine and blatantly attacking everyone covered by the equality act.

Indeed it is. She thinks that pointing out that someone had their child castrated is morally worse than having your child castrated.

^ uh huh. Just how did we get here?

There was one bit I agreed with a belief in creationism shouldn’t dictate the GCSE science curriculum just take the next step that follows - a belief in gender and pink brain/blue brain and jelly babies shouldn’t dictate or change sex based protections.

The article very neatly illustrates The Guardian's position with regard to the two religions. All religions are not equal. Certainly not in the way that The Guardian writes about them

I was thinking similar but more along the lines of the twisting that Hinsliff had to do to go from defending what were most likely men of Muslim origin physically attacking and sexually assaulting women ' cos different cultures and allowances must be made- to criticising Muslim parents for simply expressing views she doesn't agree with.

hackmum · 23/03/2019 12:45

This is a bit of a fudge isn't it.

Indeed it is. She thinks that pointing out that someone had their child castrated is morally worse than having your child castrated.

And interesting that The Guardian article very carefully refers to "Birmingham parents" and "Families from Manchester".

Only once does she refer to Muslims. "What began as a local protest by mainly Muslim parents..."

Refers to "Catholic doctrine" quite happily though. And also refers to Caroline Farrow as a Catholic twice.

The article very neatly illustrates The Guardian's position with regard to the two religions. All religions are not equal. Certainly not in the way that The Guardian writes about them.

I am not even going to bother to read it, it sounds horrible. More divisive politics really.... this has been a hard week alright.

" We’ll probably never know what the police would have made of her expressing them publicly"

Bad luck Gaby and all the other authoritiarian nutcases out there, we don't actually live in a police state. Ulitmately It doesn't matter what the police think, what really matters is what the law says . Susie Green knows this, she can use her connections with the police to harass people, Gaby can cheer her on but one ludicrous case has already been laughed out of court and this one would have been too.

Popchyk · 23/03/2019 12:35

"But journalists have an obligation to use their platforms responsibly where potentially vulnerable young people are involved".

Susie Green's child is 27 years old.

And it is this constant shackling of the T to the LGB that is damaging the LGB.

There are many parents who will have concerns about schools telling children that they can change sex, when they are totally supportive of the rights of LGBT otherwise.

And if rejecting that single T part of it means rejecting all of the other LGB stuff then a lot of parents will choose to do that.

People have genuine concerns about the likes of Mermaids and other lobby groups going in to schools to tell children that their interests define their sex. And the government is funding this.

The hard line of the likes of Stonewall and other lobby groups (#nodebate) and their position at the centre of government will make more and more groups rise up. That is obvious.

The message to parents is that quiet, rational discussion will get you nowhere as schools and the government simply are not interested in that. So take the hard line. That will be much more effective.

I'm an atheist. I believe humans can't change sex.

Here is the article should anyone have missed it.

trumptrump · 23/03/2019 12:17

I dont click on Gaby Hinscliff's articles. She's the woman who victim-blamed the Cologne victims. Angry

MeAgainAgain · 23/03/2019 12:05

"Yet this recourse to the religious high ground sits uncomfortably with the tone of messages in which Farrow accused Green of “child abuse” for having her child “mutilated” and “castrated” (Jackie Green underwent reassignment surgery, which is only available to adults in Britain, in Thailand aged 16.)"

This is a bit of a fudge isn't it.

Susie Green took her child overseas to have an operation to remove their penis and testicles, because it would have been illegal to do it here.
So brave and stunning.

LassOfFyvie · 23/03/2019 11:57

Is it very bad of me to think every time I see an article by Gaby Hinsliff- "would it have killed you to drag a brush through your hair before that photo was taken?"

She is a terrible writer.

cwg1 · 23/03/2019 11:56

Gaby - that Caroline F is Catholic is a red herring. It's a FACT that human beings can't change sex. That a theist acknowledges that fact really doesn't negate it and doesn't, in anyway, make it akin to creationism or any other non-factual belief. The non-fact here is coming from the trans side - there's not a scrap of factual evidence for sexed brains, being born in the wrong body and so on but this is what is being taught as fact in schools.

Sorry - I'm ranting to the converted, but this is breath-taking - that a journalist can't seem to distinguish between fact and belief.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 23/03/2019 11:36

yeah. Gaby Fucking Hinsliff

I don't know how that woman looks at herself in the mirror
