I couldn't see another thread about this, but I felt it's an extremely good take on why the narrative "born in the wrong body" is so, SO damaging, especially for children.

I'm feeling more passionate about this every day. This is such an awful message that so many woke or uninformed educators are merrily communicating to children now.

This video is the voice of truth, sanity and reason. It's this message that should be taken into schools. This message that therapists should be standing up for.

Every teacher and social worker needs to see this.

Isn't it brilliant? And heartbreaking.

And I actually don't doubt that this is what the Tavistock are desperately trying to do it's just that the overwhelming public assumption that it's ok to affirm physically with drugs and surgery and 'ideologically' with pronouns and changing areas (in reality taking a different name I have less issues with) is causing such damage and confusion and a push to affirm.

Sometimes I'm meh about pronouns; it's just a word, other times I feel it's all part of the same gaslighting and grooming doublethink that is hurting children.

It really hit me the other day that TRAs want it to be 'medical' for children, which needs a diagnosis obviously in order to treat but not a medical condition in adults and for them not to require medication and surgery and forced sterilisation (eg Jane Fae.)

This is a key part that people saying they want children to be aware of and inclusive of 'trans' and 'trans kids' aren't seeing. The T really does need to come out if the LGBT. LGB aren't medical conditions nor mental health conditions. They don't require any medication.

If you (eg stonewall et al) argue the T should be self Id and medical free, no forced sterility and free to be yourself, without damaging sex protected spaces why on earth can't our children?

Gaslighting on an enormous scale.

I always report any pro trans conversion accounts on YouTube. Just as I call out anorexia accounts.

Mutilating and removing perfectly health body parts should not be promoted by tech giants

I am so grateful for people like Erin and the young de-transitioned women from Pique Resilience etc, who have immense courage to share their stories publicly

thread with links to some of the eloquent & brave young women speaking out:

That video from the woman who has gender dysphoria is incredibly revealing.

It has the ring of authenticity from start to finish.

And dovetails, completely, with the new research that shows transitioning actually increases the self harm of young women.

Saying that telling the woman her body is wrong, i.e. affirming, of course is going to make the woman worse. She will want to self harm, and it won't do anything to reconcile her mental schism.

Here is the link again, in case anyone's missed it.

The chooseyourowndiagosis link is so good. She is like my twin in terms of gender dysphoria and how I feel about that and its relationship to body disconnect. I am so very pleased your shared it. It's such an important voice, often missing out of these debates. I feel so empowered after watching and so much love in my heart for the woman who made that.

Katvonmythicbiowoman · 21/03/2019 21:58

I can tell you. We are obsessed with protecting existing rights for women and safeguarding of children. That’s it.

~ Agree.

DpWm · 21/03/2019 20:50

Not repeated exactly but it definitely "rhymes" I mean the PIE never sought to actually sterilise children and young adults.

OldCrone · 21/03/2019 20:42

According to the 'gender gp', Helen Webberley, recently suspended from practising in the UK, “If your child says they are transgender, they probably are.”

Despite her suspension she is holding a Q&A on 31st March

According to Webberley: "[Being transgender] is not something someone chooses to be, and it is certainly not a mental disorder."

NeurotrashWarrior · 21/03/2019 20:15

Feels like history repeating.

Sorry - that should read "if a child wants sex with an adult it was oppressive for adults to disapprove"

truthisarevolutionaryact · 21/03/2019 19:17

Agreed Neurotrash
The Paedophile Information Exchange spent years telling us that children had the rights to self determination and to have sex with adults if they chose. They presented their demands as an equality issue - human rights, age of consent was oppressive, if a child wants sex with an adult adults had no right to say no.
It took years before people on the left saw this for what it was - adults grooming children below the age of consent for their own ends. And many politicians went along with it... until the proverbial hit the fan..... which continues to this day in some quarters.

R0wantrees · 21/03/2019 18:58

NeurotrashWarrior there's a great deal of abuse that is being hidden by the affirmation of gender identity model.

My fear is that gender specialists are especially blind to understanding how abuse and trauma impacts girls & young women

NeurotrashWarrior · 21/03/2019 18:53

Thanks for the quote R0.

The more I analyse this the more I realise how extremely fucked up for kids affirmation is.

I remember seeing statistics for actual numbers of children who start hormones or blockers at the Tavistock some time ago. I remember it was only one or two a year; the rest decided to / were supported to watchfully wait.

I fear there is so much "awareness" being whipped up to the general public ie 'poor' trans kids when most of them are gender non conforming and dealing with a lot of mh issues plus basic bullying that the approach described by Erin will be swept under the carpet.

Neurotrash Its a really interesting video & important perspective thanks for sharing.

defintely better to listen to Erin Brewer (than JF)

"Transgender activists are saying that children with gender dysphoria should be transitioned because, they claim, a child with gender dysphoria has been born in the wrong body. It is considered transphobic to suggest that gender dysphoria can be a symptom of an underlying issue and that transitioning a child with gender dysphoria promotes self hatred. I suffered from childhood gender dysphoria and I am speaking out to defend gender dysphoria as a mental health issue as well as to challenge the idea that changing stereotypical behaviors and presentation is all that is needed to change gender."

Spokk · 21/03/2019 18:37

Why would we want to upskirt transwomen? We all know what they are and unless you are in a relationship, there is no need to look at anyone’s bits, real or adapted. 🤮

NeurotrashWarrior · 21/03/2019 18:05

I don't think the link in the op is working/ right. This is the video I'm trying to link to:

I cba to give JF any more of my energy. Thanks R0.

very interesting about wanting to blame our bodies for our issues.

BickerinBrattle · 21/03/2019 17:48

I think that examining the stability and motives of males who insist they have a legal right to enter spaces where girls and women are vulnerable, with their pants down, naked, and/or have just been raped or beaten by males is COMPLETELY WARRANTED.

I think that anyone who doesn't agree with that needs their own motives more closely examined.

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 21/03/2019 17:45

examining the stability and motives of those who obsess about trans people

apologies that should read, "report from Jane Fae's TRA conference..."
