Never thought I'd be cheering for Piers Morgan. Who is this dreadful woke bro professor Ellis Cashmore?

He's so chuffed with his renta gob status. He will be demanding a payrise at work on the back of his media advisory role.

This is the 21st century and men are still men. As he so clearly demonstrated.

Illyria47 · 05/03/2019 02:58

Trousering My word was pillock.

ColeHawlins · 04/03/2019 22:59

That clip is such an interesting observation of male socialisation isn't it?

Isn't it just?

Iused2BanOptimist · 04/03/2019 22:57

Just caught up with it. Susannah sat there looking like she had just had a big enema and if she moved or opened her mouth it would all poor out so she just had to concentrate on clenching her bottom for the next half hour. How lucky she had her alpha male sitting next to her to take the flak.

RockyFlintstone · 04/03/2019 22:36

That clip is such an interesting observation of male socialisation isn't it? Susanna saying she is scared of saying the wrong thing and Piers bounding in and saying 'well I'm not'. Then Piers and Ellis just arguing and talking over each other for most of the segment whilst Sharron and Susanna barely get a word in edgeways.

Piers asking Sharron what should we do about it to make it fair: the best answer for that is 'that is not women's problem to solve I'm afraid'.

Despite everything, even the CBB stuff, I kind of have a soft spot for India. The way they proudly said 'I have less testosterone than a lot of women who were born women', it reminded me of when Posie said to India on this morning that she 'obviously outwardly looks like a woman' and India visibly preened. Its kind of sweet really, and although I still think India is very much out for themselves, and a lot of what they say is about reading the room, I get the feeling they don't want to throw women under the bus in the way that some TRAs are desperate to do.

Ellis Cashmore was just talking bollocks really wasn't he, he didn't say anything of substance at all apart from 'it's the 21st century'. And what?

Trousering · 04/03/2019 22:05

Wow that guy is a prick.

Because it's the 21st century.
Because inclusivity.

What a prize nob.

I am responding to his arguments with the amount of respect that they deserve.

ColeHawlins · 04/03/2019 21:45

Why do they keep inviting sociologists and philosophers to rant on about these subjects? They simply make stuff up, unlike scientists.

Becuase no one else will.

I didn't hang around to watch after the break so not sure if Louis gave his view.
Maybe we should ask them on Twitter?
I couldn't watch the Louis transgender kids programme. I couldn't get past the little boy performing Poker Face whose parents told him he was a girl.
Guessing this peaked Louis?

2019StandingforWomen · 04/03/2019 11:40

My goodness India must see where the weight of public opinion and common sense is here and has jumped on board the T#@F Train in this regard.

That professor was hilariously idiotic - wonder if they couldn't get anyone else to be on that side? When they get those sporting TW in with their deep voices and unaltered physiques, the job is done visually before they have even started debating.

Macareaux · 04/03/2019 11:17

"I quite like being silent when guests are hanging themselves like that" said PM

Well quite!

RockyFlintstone · 04/03/2019 11:07

To be fair to India, they've always towed their own line. That's why they aren't hugely popular with other TRAs

Yep, India is rather unpopular with the TRAs right now! India does India and fair play for that at least.

QuietContraryMary · 04/03/2019 11:06

There's a bit here about it

www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/tv/itvs-piers-morgan-told-be-15916517

Cashmore comes across very poorly.

AnyFucker · 04/03/2019 11:00

I would like to know Louis Theroux's view on this too

Lumene · 04/03/2019 10:57

Did Louis give his view in the end?

truthisarevolutionaryact · 04/03/2019 09:29

India Willoughby came over very well. Cashmore has built his mediocre career on writing about 'marginalised groups ' in sport.
You can just see how his hectoring approach must used in lectures with students. "Silence. I am speaking. No other views allowed "

Lumene · 04/03/2019 09:19

Oh yes what does Louis Theroux say? Please tell!

HandsOffMyRights · 04/03/2019 08:59

Just watched on plus one.
Cashmore is well named. This is the 'height' of his career.

When he said "Be silent" to Piers, with a calculated chuckle afterwards, it gave me the creeps.

I want to know what Louis Theroux thinks - Piers asked him as they went to break!

Orchidflower1 · 04/03/2019 08:25

children I thought that too!

Katvonfelttipeyebrows · 04/03/2019 08:23

ColeHawlins · 04/03/2019 08:23

Placemarking while look for a clip.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 04/03/2019 08:22

To be fair India isn't actually a TRA, she's always had her own opinions on stuff, sometimes it matches the TRA line, sometimes it doesn't.

DpWm · 04/03/2019 08:20

Gender ideology attracts some serious misogynists.
