Miley Cyrus is in a heterosexual marriage but appears to think she has redefined it as queer and 'genderless'.

The emperor has no clothes.

Chris Hemsworth has a hot brother?

I've been following this thread but haven't weighed in until now.

MC might be bi, she might be hetero, she might be pan. I don't really care and I can't speak for her. She seems happy, which is a good thing.

I have no problem with anyone choosing a relationship that makes them happy or defining their sexuality in a way that makes them feel secure (so long as everyone concerned is a consenting adult, of course).

I do take offence to individuals - and I hate to say it but it does seem exclusive to this younger generation - who seem to think that they have reinvented sexuality whilst minimising or erasing experiences that I and may other have had. Bisexuality, flings, crushes, experimentation etc is nothing new. I've had a conversation with a younger acquaintance who identifies as pansexual and gender queer, questioning why my life experiences are different from hers and noting that I've never felt the need to label myself. Her only argument was that I'm old (42!) and just can't understand the way her generation are looking at the world, seeing individuals, not genders and not setting any boundaries in their quest for a relationship. I dunno, it still sounds just like me in my 20s but clearly I'm just not woke enough.

For me, this is just another example of the minimisation of my existence, experiences and opinions that I have encountered since turning 40. it seems so easy to write us off as "just" middle aged women with nothing to offer here. That's why I get pissed off with the likes of MC and her "redefining" of relationships.

Aunt Lydia? 😂😂😂

Honey, you don't know you're born.

'Oh I'm just soooooooo oppressed. I tell people, including my white male straight totally gender conforming husband, that I'm so queer, so pansexual and rather than prostrate themselves at my feet and at the altar of gender queer sexuality, they look at me like this Hmm . It's such persecution'.

Cool

Well SHE might fall in love with a 'person' regardless of their sex or gender but I like a ('natal' urgh) man with a cock. Suck on that Miley.

RockyFlintstone · 22/02/2019 11:22

Of course she is 'allowed' to 'label her own sexuality'. No one is actually stopping her from doing that.

But we are also allowed to raise an eyebrow at what we think might be bullshit attention seeking.

not2daysanta · 22/02/2019 11:20

No, I'm sorry, Aunt Lydia.

All women will report to you from now on, for strict instructions as to how they should behave, speak and identify.

Kettleon80 · 22/02/2019 11:19

Cool Santa - bye bye Waves

Kettleon80 · 22/02/2019 11:18

Me vague??? You're the one belonging to a group who appears to think bullshit labels apply to anyone displaying totally normal and natural human behaviour - ie having sex with ever a man or a woman!!!

OP posts:
not2daysanta · 22/02/2019 11:18

Wow.

That's all I needed to hear. You're no feminist, Aunt Lydia.

PinkHeart5914 · 22/02/2019 11:16

Why is this even news? Mind you it’s daily mail so....

I mean seriously like cock, like vaginas nobody cares just fuck whoever you like but don’t make up stupid names for it

Kettleon80 · 22/02/2019 11:14

Freedom of expression - that's where we differ. That's the excuse for any woman to strip naked and ponce around with her vagina hanging out?

I also don't believe she is anything other than heterosexual. That's the point. We have a difference of opinion.

not2daysanta · 22/02/2019 11:12

Be specific, KettleOn. If you're going to keep digging - be specific.

How does a woman's choice to label her own sexuality affect your life (or the lives of other women).

None of your vague platitudes. Be specific.

Kettleon80 · 22/02/2019 11:12

I've just been shopping and am having a cuppa - trust me I've barely thought about this.

It threatens me as there's no way I would support her as being a role model for my daughter.

OP posts:
not2daysanta · 22/02/2019 11:10

The shoe fits, Kettleon.

You've been sat there for almost 24 hours stewing about the very idea that a woman can decide to label their own sexuality. Stewing.

And yet you can't think of any impact that her freedom of expression has on you. You might not agree with it; it might not fit your ideals. But you need to introspect and consider why you're this angry about it, since it stands to impact your life in no material fashion.

Kettleon80 · 22/02/2019 11:10

And there is no knicker twisting about someone's sexuality. The main point of the thread was about redefining heterosexual marriage as queer because someone bring heterosexual and wearing a white dress with straight hair would somehow threaten her credibility and edginess.

Miley herself used the word 'redefining'.

And it affects all our material reality. There are many issues surrounding consent, sex and gender that such issues raise, and whilst in the one hand this is lighthearted, on the other can have serious consequences.

OP posts:
NunoGoncalves · 22/02/2019 11:08

What's the actual issue? A person who is married to a man says she's bi and doesn't care about gender? That's quite possible, isn't it?

Kettleon80 · 22/02/2019 11:07

That's particularly nasty to call me unhinged.

OP posts:
not2daysanta · 22/02/2019 11:02

Some of you really are unhinged. Particularly Kettleon.

Jesus. You're really getting your knickers in a twist about other people's sexuality.

That you consider it an affront that someone labels their own sexuality as "pansexual" or "queer" says a lot about you. For a group so obsessed with "material reality", what "material" effect does this have on your life?

Literally none. So why are you still talking?

Kettleon80 · 22/02/2019 09:10

The nature of this type of sex that should say

OP posts:
Kettleon80 · 22/02/2019 09:09

Pansexuality. Totally emporers new clothes.

You are shagging makes and females, that's it. But you think you have invented sex and scaled new heights of sexuality in the meantime because the male you are shagging now calls himself trans rather than just being cool with being a male who wears lipstick.

Meanwhile you can score woke points at University and label anyone who asks a question about consent or the nature of sex as 'phobic' in some way, making you feel even more special and smug.

OP posts:
LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 22/02/2019 09:00

Such a song and dance about nothing than concerns anyone but the 2 (adult and consenting) people directly involved.

RockyFlintstone · 22/02/2019 08:54

'Pansexuality' is such woke virtue signalling.

'Oooooh look at me, I'm so inclusive, I will shag trans people because I don't see gender it's all about that spiritual connection, did I mention I'm inclusive that means I don't exclude anyone you know, because excluding people is like the worst thing anyone can do ever, even when it comes to sexual preference.
