Bi-sexulaity currently taking a kicking over at the Guardigan

"Nick, a 22-year-old physics and philosophy masters student at the University of York, initially thought he was bisexual as a teenager, but also now feels “pansexual” better fits his view that attraction isn’t really about gender. “I just find characteristics generally about people attractive"... a bi person might find tall guys attractive, and short girls. But he tends to fancy tall people, regardless of whether they are male or female.

As a bi sexual female who thinks gender is social BS, I had been under the impression that bisexuality related to both sex attraction. Apparently not, thanks random 22 year old bloke, thanks for sorting that out for me.

That was exactly my thought! Pansexual should mean you're happy to have sex with everyone and everything - children, animals, dead people, lawnmowers...

I was going to put something to this effect in the comments, but I'm still on the Guardian's naughty step, and I don't think they'd let it through.

Bisexual and pansexual are two different things Possibly. But it is based on pernickety semantics and a belief in gender that is not universal.

And please, don't do as one of the commenters did and try to sneak intersex individuals in as a 'proof' of there being 2+ sexes. Biology is...

Bisexual means you like both sexes
Pansexual means you like all fenders and are more woke and special

All I can come up with is "Who cares?" Wear the label you like, fuck who you like. I do not now and never have cared.

But please stop trying to insist that it should be important to me! That I need to accept something.

Try it yourself - accept I am what I am, female heterosexual who doesn't rule out a change if/when she becomes a widow/divorcee!

That's called 'open minded' if you need a bloody label for me!

I'll also add that Nick decides to set the record straight in the comments section and gets very pissy when people suggest that he's fine to define himself, but maybe shouldn't be redefining bisexuality for everyone.
