A timely, if incredibly worrying reminder, that we should view all stories about minorities from our press with extreme skepticism. I hope this is the only fabricated inflammatory anti-trans story our press has published, it would be awful if the debate regarding trans rights was being used as cover by bigots to spread anti-trans hatred.

This is shocking. This story has been repeated over and over again as some kind of political grenade.
I am on the fence with the whole trans debate- I am undecided. I wish the press would report fairly and accurately so that the public can make informed decisions though.

This didn't happen. All made up.

All those apologists who bent over backwards and used "she" are now guilty of misgendering poor Ian.

What happens now?

QuietContraryMary · 11/02/2019 14:27

That's not the Sun, it's the 'Daily Star Stunday' relating to an article they published in 2018.

And there is a signed article by 'Ian Lian Huntley' from 2017

I am reassured you are convinced the word of Ian Huntley is reliable and none of this ever happened, as it never does.

Just like Karen White didn't rape women in prison either.

None of this happens, does it.

I said on a previous thread that my issue wasn't whether the Huntley story was true or not, that became something of a side issue.

My concern was the length some people were going to to defend huntley, demand we all use correct pronouns etc etc. It was astonishing. Rapist hill indeed.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 11/02/2019 14:25

Makes all those defending him look a bit silly doesn't it.

FloralBunting · 11/02/2019 14:23

Yes, wouldn't it? Terribly embarrassing for the LibDems and others who so staunchly defended even the merest suggestion that Huntley should get whatever he wants if he uses the magic pronoun wand, eh? I mean, rapist hill is still a thing AWAs stand on, isn't it?
