"Because once the medical community accept this as a treatment for cis-women with uterine infertility, such as congenital absence of a womb, then it would be illegal to deny a trans-female who has completed her transition.

"The most important step is the harvesting from the donor as great care is required to avoid damage to the arteries and veins supplying the uterus.
Trans females have a much narrower pelvis than cis-women of the same height, but there would still be room for them to carry a child.

“Supplemental hormones could be taken to replicate the changes that occur in the body when a woman is pregnant.

Jazz it's not hate to dislike this. I have a friend who has opted out of eye related donations because that creeps her out. She's not blindphobic. It's her body and she can feel how she likes about it.

People buy organs from the less privileged it's wrong but it happens. This just means that women have another avenue they could potentially be exploited from.

ODFOD Jazzbunny. Nothing „racist“ about finding these unnecessary and dangerous procedures grotesque in the extreme. Transwomen aren’t missing any organs. Some of them just think they should be able to demand the ones they don’t have. Sorry, no.

The most important step is the harvesting from the donor as great care is required to avoid damage to the arteries and veins supplying the uterus.
"The actual “plumbing in” is straight forward.

Sorry that should be in bold!
Jesus Christ he's talking like this person is a washing machine . I'm no doctor but even if it could be transplanted it takes more than a womb to carry a pregnancy to term?!!!!

This is beyond fucked up. I too will opt out of my organs being used to furnish a mans vanity project.

And yes Jazzbunny, do one.

AssassinatedBeauty · 08/02/2019 22:31

@Jazzbunny the difference is that they are women. To try to insert a uterus into a male body is nothing like the same operation. It is to completely deny biological reality.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 08/02/2019 22:30

I am wondering is there any far right racism hidden here too

yes, we keep it under the stairs, right next to biological reality

why don't you take a look?

Urgh2019 · 08/02/2019 22:30

Also Jazz do you understand carrying a child is more complicated than just having an organ to stick it in?

wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 08/02/2019 22:28

Do one Jazzbunny.

It's not prejudiced to be creeped out by this, particularly in the feminist section of a predominantly female site. Where the hell do you think the wombs are going to come from? Women...

PositivelyPERF · 08/02/2019 22:28

great care is required to avoid damage to the arteries and veins supplying the uterus

And if that means causing more scaring and long term damage to the ‘actual’ female, who cares? Misogynistic prick.

AssassinatedBeauty · 08/02/2019 22:27

Its absurd, and shows a complete denial of reality. It's disturbing that someone would push an ideology over medical ethics.

donajimena · 08/02/2019 22:27

I'm in Wales with presumed consent with regards to organ donation... which I am happy with. Can I opt out of uterus donation?

Idiotic, dangerous and unnecessary.
Research money could be far better spent. Let’s hope this horrible suggestion never gets off the ground.

Urgh2019 · 08/02/2019 22:20

I don’t want my organs used for this nonsense.

CorbynsAnorak · 08/02/2019 22:20

I can’t believe this tbh. Womb transplant in a male body is a non-starter, surely? It would be putting two lives at great risk, for a completely experimental and non-essential procedure. I can’t see how it would ever get past and ethics committee?

Awrite · 08/02/2019 22:18

biological impossibility, that should have been.

Awrite · 08/02/2019 22:17

It's frightening that a surgeon would say this.

Besides the obvious biology impossibility, it would surely be massively unethical to attempt any kind of testing to prove it was thus.
