Beating yourself up. You, Venice and Julia have conquered the market. No other ‘feminist’ has managed this. How amazing are you all. Posie, you have managed so much by presenting a truth that a women is an adult human female that is scientifically proven has scared everyone. How amazing are you.
I await my t shirt with this fact. I will not be able to wear it as I have a child/teen, nearly an adult who thinks they are female. Your t shirt will go into a drawer but I know it’s there reminding me, when I am questioning myself for not affirming my child’s thought, that my son can not be female.
Keep up your fight. Stop listening to others who are jealous of your basic campaign and who try to intellectualise it with academic talk, when the simple truth gets the job done.
Stand up for us parents. No one else is. Stand up for our daughters and for our sons too. The parents voice needs heard. Focus on this. It does not matter to parents where you are aligned politically. But you know this. Keep doing what you are doing and fight for me because I’m not brave enough to stand up

The paragraph about Posie, Julia and Venice not listening to those who are leading the cause is quite telling also. My way or no way.

Can you please post the statement here?

Sunshineofleith · 14/02/2019 00:52

I know how much the USA are delighted with Posie, Julia and Venice. They have enabled conversations to take place. If Posie, Venice and Julia were not there, the amazing talk would have not have been heard. They have taken the cause internationally and this is amazing. Our infighting needs to stop and think about this achievement. Was this not the aim?

What a shower of shites
I have just gone onto Posie’s Facebook page and saw the private statement from Kristina Harrison.
It is unbelievable. Please read it.
This is why Posie’s campaign using adult human female is now being shit on. The trans woman is not happy because Posie is presenting a truth so this person is using the male privilege to barter. It’s me or her. Guess what. These feminists have bowed to the mighty male. In my opinion, this is why the followers have ganged up on Posie as they can’t seriously say a woman is an adult human female for fear of offending. These followers have tried to sabotage Posie’a campaign as they don’t want to offend a natal man. Feminists my arse.

As an American woman who has been increasingly horrified by the TRA movement, but has felt powerless and silenced, your sister provided inspiration and hope for me. She is courageous and truly a champion for women and children.

As a result of her actions, I have started to find ways to speak out and connect. She is making a tremendous difference, and we WE NEED HER. Please let her know how much she is appreciated!

Coyoacan · 12/02/2019 15:14

she doesn’t have time to do background checks on the organisers/attendees/random people who have wandered in to listen or shelter from the rain

Yeap, some people have staff who can cover most of that and I don't know about the UK, but here in Mexico academics have staff and students who can do that sort of work. Pretty hard to cover as a one-woman show.

Ineedacupofteadesperately · 12/02/2019 13:35

Yes, I support PP, there have been lots of lies told about her but ordinary women like me see that for what it is. They do it because she is so very effective and clever and good at highlighting the harm to women and girls from TRA ideology. I cannot say thank you enough to her for standing up to protect women and children pumyin please pass on my thanks. I am sorry all this is affecting you too Flowers

And I think this bit of your post bears repeating she doesn’t have time to do background checks on the organisers/attendees/random people who have wandered in to listen or shelter from the rain of course she doesn't. Normal people do get this. She is remarkable, I don't know how she manages to achieve what she does.

Coyoacan · 12/02/2019 13:19

pumyin You should be so proud

Honestly, on twitter and here, I find the vast majority of people support PP.

beagadorsrock · 12/02/2019 12:41

I will just add my name to the list of people who think PP has ovaries of steel and I thank her for her work.

theOtherPamAyres · 12/02/2019 12:39

Posie Parker is my sister. I am sick of reading utter BS about her

Pumyin Flowers

I'm sick of it too.

My message to high profile women activists, whether left/right/centre/apolitical, is this:

'You are doing a great job. Stay in your lane and keep doing it. Don't interfere with another activist working in the next lane because she's doing a great job too and I want her to keep doing it too. This isn't a sprint, it's going to be a marathon - if you can't encourage and support each other, then at least don't obstruct her."

LangCleg · 12/02/2019 10:07

In the old days we used to get called 'transphobic' but that is so tired they can only get traction with 'racist' or 'middle-class'.

This.

WeRiseUp · 12/02/2019 08:42

Yes and please beware the metamorphosising intersectional brigaders. They are better at pretending to be mumsnetters than their kind used to be. They do not represent mumsnetters. They just turn up to try and shame and silence women by taking a punt and presuming the majority (of the British female population online) are going to be white, middle-classed and not Muslims. They turn up to give you the willies - afraid of being 'islamophobic' 'white' (yes that is a crime) and 'middle-class' (surely with upward mobility very few people can hand on heart call themselves working class these days? - even Julie Bindel).

They have a particular fixation with Posie.

In the old days we used to get called 'transphobic' but that is so tired they can only get traction with 'racist' or 'middle-class'.

They can fuck off.

Being a woman is enough to have the right to join together to end our sex based oppression. I don't gaf about any further division or labelling. Dudes do not belong.

jeaux90 · 12/02/2019 07:41

I agree facts.

Pumyin, PP is awesome as is Julia and Venice.

We won't see the TRA's being criticised for who they lobby, who they get seen with. And this is about lobbying, getting coverage etc

What she is doing is absolutely necessary and I admire her for it.

FactsAreNotMean · 12/02/2019 07:26

Honestly pumyin please don't let it get to either of you. There will always be people who try to tear down strong women, and there will always be sanctimonious prats who are more concerned with the ideological purity of the method than whether it achieves its goal

There's been a few of these posts and imo most replies are supportive of posie

pumyin · 12/02/2019 06:22

I will probably leave this site for good after this post. I’m an regular reader but have rarely posted.

Posie Parker is my sister. I am sick of reading utter BS about her.

I can categorically state, she is not anti-Semitic, a Nazi, racist, anti-abortion, Christian or a Conservative voter. She does not make a fortune from t-shirts and she does “snort the profits” from the profit. She is not rich (although she does have leaves in her garden).

At considerable personal cost, she has devoted her time to raising awareness about the threat to women & children. She believes Women’s spaces and biology are being denied by a movement supported, promoted & celebrated by institutions, political parties, the media etc.

She has gone everywhere & anywhere where she can speak & get her succinct message across. That is her focus, she doesn’t have time to do background checks on the organisers/attendees/random people who have wandered in to listen or shelter from the rain.

She is a good person. She is a human. She doesn’t purport to be perfect. She certainly doesn’t deserve the pernicious & systematic abuse that has been written about & to her.

OccasionalKite · 12/02/2019 00:25

There's been a really big push, for the past few weeks, to try to orchestrate splits between women. So glad it is being seen and called out, for what it is. A toxic male rights campaign.

We need all kinds of women doing all kinds of things for women. And I am so glad that there are indeed women being active however they can.

Calling active women bigoted (bigoted??!! Oh, FFS!!) is par for the course, from right, left and centre - when women speak up for women - and stirrers will chuck any old shit hoping that it will stick.

Flowers to all women standing up and speaking out for women.

itwaseverthus · 11/02/2019 23:49

Great comment CharlieParley. My motto, Never Apologise, Never Explain would seem apposite right now.

Yambabe · 11/02/2019 23:18

Thankyou Charley, that was an interesting read.

Just for the record I have never villified Posie, I was merely concerned that she had made an error of judgement that would reflect badly on her and be yet another stick to beat feminists with.

She hadn't, I misread the situation completely.

Sunshineofleith · 11/02/2019 23:10

The quickest way to discuss the mutilation of our children and the life long medication to the general public is through exposure. Posie, alongside other brave women, have done this and I believe it is making the difference. It is getting noticed. Politics should not trump our youth. Everyone who is vilifying Posie should applaud her instead. For goodness sake she has paved a path for women everywhere to stand up and speak out. Just imagine if it was your child? You won’t care if you are left or right; you will only care about who is going to help fight this damn cult and expose it for its atrocious neglect on our kids mental health. Instead of talk therapy we cut off the offending part and create an hormonal imbalance and see this as the right pathway for children. This is why Posie, Julia and Venice are angry. Everyone would benefit more from the stories of parents and the brave detransitioners. We need all stories. Not a one side approach. For too long it has been the sunshine and roses story with the glitter and cheers. I am so grateful that this is proving to not be true for all.

Nah. That random man is actually a well-known politician who is the leader of the political party who organised the conference.

I don't think there's any way Posie wouldn't know who he was, and if she'd done her homework on Allianse (the political party involved) she would surely have declined this one.

Is it possible you've misunderstood the Norwegian? Mot Dag was a far left magazine and group of intellectuals in the 1930s and this conference is a far left conference organised by a man who's been an active anti-war campaigner and socialist since the 70s.

Alliansen clearly state on their FB page that members of their party are going to the conference as nothing more than attendees and that they can sponsor tickets for anyone who wants to go who can't afford it, not that they have organised or hosted it.

FYI, in European politics there is currently an overlap between right wing and left wing groupings in a shared and total mistrust of main stream media. If you've got an interest in this area, you might recognise the names of independent journalists Vanessa Beeley and Eva Bartlett (variously lauded as heroes or stooges, depending on where you stand regarding US American foreign politics).

And the conference agenda features media criticism quite heavily which is of interest for the far right, too; there's usually also debate of strategies and tactics in dealing with mainstream media. If you look at events in Germany in recent years, while far right group members continue to react aggressively to the presence of journalists, their leaders are increasingly assertive and savvy in their media management strategies, and this may be seen as a chance to learn new ones.

One of the other conference agenda items, identity politics is as derided amongst the far left as amongst the far right and gender ideology is merely one part of that whole shebang, so again, there may be some interest from right wing people at this event.

To say therefore that having a number of far right attendees amongst mainly left wing attendees - something Posie has had neither influence on nor foreknowledge of - makes the whole conference one of the far right is a nonsense of course, as is the assertion that Posie speaking here demonstrates that she's allied/aligned with the far right.

Finally, women's rights are human rights that all those born female are entitled to. Neither her views nor her political alliances nor her association with people others object to ever disqualify a woman from her entitlement to those rights. And none of these disqualify her from joining in a campaign for those rights either. Whether others wish to stand alongside her or keep their distance that is up to each and every woman to decide.

But I for one won't be dictated to by anyone that I have to distance myself. There are a number of issues I expect to campaign on in the future and I expect on any individual issue, I will campaign alongside people I otherwise vehemently disagree with on all of the other issues.

And on this one issue, I will do that, too.

Whether they're called Jean or Posie or Rosa or Venice or whoever else will next fall out with one another over questionable associations, motivations, perceived sleights or real insults.
