Just asking as I’m new to MN and appalled at the threads in here D:

Why is this thread being TAATed?

I'd have thought because people were asking for for genuine cases so one was given?

I don't.

I worry immensely about the disingenuous people who are jumping on the trans bandwagon for their own vile ends though.

But trans people? No worries.

Gingerkittykat · 06/02/2019 17:12

Maybe we need to distinguish between transsexuals and transgender (and good old transvestites)

I genuinely don't know the difference.

Can I ask with self ID is there any way to stop people changing gender and then back again as it suits them?

Apollo440 · 06/02/2019 17:09

Transexuals get called transcum for making the distinction.

Apollo440 · 06/02/2019 17:03

But you know that 90% of trans never have SRC and so are in full possession of male genitalia. Still not seeing the issue?

userschmoozer · 06/02/2019 17:01

ODFOD. No one says the existence of trans people threatens them. Get real.

Allowing all men who say they are women into women only spaces makes them single sex spaces and erases safeguarding.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 06/02/2019 17:00

Explain for me again what ‘trans’ is in the modern parlance?

Apollo440 · 06/02/2019 17:00

You continue to deliberately misrepresent the GC position. The issue is with giving men unrestricted access to previously single sex areas which is what self id does. So unless you are willing to share your soul viewing goggles it remains a problem.

Melroses · 06/02/2019 16:59

I’m shocked that the OP hasn’t returned, shocked I tell you.

It keeps happening Hmm

AliceToo · 06/02/2019 16:59

Thing is ladies, a post op trans woman has no penis to assult your sensibilities or body with.

Or is it in the eyes?

AliceToo · 06/02/2019 16:55

It is though.

One instinctivly know somthing racist is coming when the speaker opens with "I'm not racist but...."

Or similarly "I don't hate trans women but their existance threatens me because...."

FoxyLaRoxy · 06/02/2019 16:49

Cool story Sue.

Surly its not about changing pysical sex but transitioning from one gender binary to the other. It's a two way street also.

Funky

The OP on that thread raised many valid safeguarding questions. Some of them were awkwardly worded but that's what often happens when you feel you aren't allowed to debate or ask questions. And yes maybe they were fuelled by fear but not hate and not transphobic. Just summed it up perfectly.

I don't believe there is hate or transphobia here. There's a lot of concerned and angry people though. And that can sound loud and scary sometimes.

Justkeepswimmming · 06/02/2019 16:18

I’m trying not to be enticed into a taat. It’s hard. Funky please reread my post.

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 06/02/2019 16:14

I don't hate Transwomen.

I am concerned that some people don't understand biology though.

And I get pissed off with being told I'm doing womening wrong.

Funkyfunkybeat12 · 06/02/2019 16:06

Justkeepswimming a day pupil does not board. Where is the danger to the DD if she is not sharing sleeping space or changing space with this child? And the drama thing? Pure transphobia. That thread and others and especially people's responses to it have made me see this in a new light. I am gender critical but this is going too far.
