I am aware that there already long threads on this, but would anyone mind just giving me the basic information about what so many people are objecting to? Is it just that she has attended an event run by a Right Wing organisation? Or is there more?
It just looks like a pile-on by left-wingers on my twitter feed.
In all events, it's a TRA dream - divide and rule.
Again, before anyone flames me, I know that there are 2 long threads on this, but I gave up the will to read them after people going on about breakfasts for post after post.

This is not a party political issue

It’s a women’s rights issue

Refusing to work with people who share our interests in this area would deprive us of a valuable source of support

But people are allowed boundaries and if they don’t want to go along with this that’s ok too

I'm not a fan of her. But I'm not outraged either. She's doing what she thinks best. The main problem is that stunts like the one yesterday are going to be used to invalidate all GC arguments. It's much easier to provoke an emotional response in people (nasty bully targeting someone at work) than engage in rational discussion.

Maybe you could google "Heritage Foundation" and decide for yourself whether you think it's a feminist organisation.

It is a faith based organisation who fight against infanticide amongst other things:

that's what I thought new.
Thanks all for the answers, so, unless someone can disabuse me, it's a case of the search for idealogical purity.
Let's see how well that works, seeing as the Left is antagonistic towards women on this issue.

I was initially dismayed by the post that Jean wrote. But having seen the panel (excellent) and considering it was impossible to find another organisation to host them, I think it's understandable. 'Purity' is a luxury we can't afford, and the left, it seems, won't listen to us, despite that that being our natural home, well mine anyway

Oh look how long it took me to type that Grin

Don’t shoot me if I get it wrong, but my understanding is there’s a bout of historical unease with Posie because she’s been critical of how women are treated in other religions.

The accusations about this trip is that it’s been paid for by the far right, as reported in the Pink News and that she’s hobnobbing with fascists, notably because she is attending a panel (ie just in the audience) hosted by a USA right wing org called the heritage foundation.

So I think the first accusation is just untrue. Pink News quoted Jean Hatchet, the lady who rides to raise money for murdered women. But I follow jeans twitter and she was very clear Posie paid for her own trip. Pink news published the allegations after she made this clear. I think the only explanation is that they are purposefully slurring Posie.

I watched the panel heritage performance. You could see from the audience shots Posie was there, but I’m a lifelong socialist and feminist, and could see no problem with attending. All the speakers were left wing. I thought it was important content that needs to be aired. It’s available online if you want to check. It’s harrowing stuff but worth watching 😢

Hey lucy

Im sure someone will be on in a minute to explain properly

But i think basically it boild down to some people thinking its wrong to coordinate with a right wing organisation whose policies are unfeminist even one one subject which affects wormen as a class

Others think any help on this one subject is welcome and that differences on other matters shouldn't mean that organisations can't work together

Maybe you could google "Heritage Foundation" and decide for yourself whether you think it's a feminist organisation.

Also, "Posie" and her pal harassed a trans woman at her place of work, to say nothing of the upset this must have caused to the trans woman's co-workers.
