School girls gaslit en masse after encountering 'naked man' in swimming pool shower

www.kesq.com/news/female-water-polo-players-confronted-by-naked-man-at-palm-springs-swim-center/987276858

The girls found a naked man in the women's shower, which they objected to, describing him as a 'predator'.

The police investigated and said that actually, sorry girls, he's not a man, she's a woman, so STFU, basically.

eu.desertsun.com/story/news/2019/01/24/pool-getting-unisex-shower-formal-policy-after-teens-encounter-trans-woman/2670287002/

It does beg the question of what is the appropriate response when a girl finds a naked man in the changing room, as there doesn't seem to be any possible way to distinguish a 'naked man' from a 'transwoman', nor indeed whether it is safe to be around that person's penis (common sense and practice for basically the entire world's population except those gaslit by TRAs says 'no')

I think that an argument on arousal could be-

It can happen spontaneously esp when younger
There are no such obvious signs of sexual arousal with a woman
Women could be aroused and no one would notice
As it can be spontaneous it's unfair to class it as because of anything/ people actually around
Being punished for an uncontrollable natural harmless function of a male body is totally unfair when women could be aroused. I am a woman my body just behaves differently I can't help it. Discrimination.

@ThumbWitchesAbroad
Thanks. Um 😐 maybe wishing you hadn’t?! Woah on the “gender euphoria”. This seems like a wet dream of a desire to be the focal point. Where better than in a place, where one sticks out the most? Bonus points for getting all the women pom pom waving supporters and gaining access to their intimate spaces.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 20/09/2021 17:09

Ooh! I'm on my phone and can't see all posts immediately. I feel less of a twonk now, thanks 🙂

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 20/09/2021 16:57

@CuriousaboutSamphire - don't worry, it's a continuation because the Wi Spa flasher is the same person as in the OP's links, one of which no longer works.
It's not a real zombie thread!

CuriousaboutSamphire · 20/09/2021 16:19

Oops! Didn't see the year on the earliest posts.

Sorry!

CuriousaboutSamphire · 20/09/2021 16:12

Yes. Because the GRA is, as it always has been, a legal fiction to allow some transgender individuals live their lives more freely, free from casual discrimination.

It always stopped short of saying human beings can change sex and the issue with transmen and inheritance of titles is the most glaring example of where a GRC stops.

We need to be pointing this out, loudly and often, rather than decrying it. The law may be 'a ass' but it is usually quite clear about where the pleasantries and accommodations stop.

A GRC is a politeness, not permission to steamroll your way over anyone who disagrees with you

Still less is it self id, which really doesn't exist!!!

@Mummyoflittledragon - I misquoted it a bit but I finally found it.

@Bowlofbabelfish

An entire cohort of girls and young people with no ability to enforce boundaries. Who feel they can’t say no due to social and authority pressure. Who have no expectation of rights to bodily privacy and dignity. Fearing punishment for speaking out or describing the reality in front of them. Putting men’s sexual rights and fetishes before everything.

What could possibly go wrong?

This is our society,the one we are in the process of making; this is the future for our girls.

This is why we object to the distortions around us, and why women are shouting. We know where this loosening of boundaries will go, if it's allowed to continue; unfortunately that's exactly what the MRA's want, untrammelled access to and power over women and children.

FlyingOink · 19/09/2021 17:46

And I'm not saying it's for predatory reasons - they need it for validation.
This will be the next goalpost-move.

"We never said we were actually going to get beaten up in the gents', that's why there are no reports of it happening. Its just bad for our mental health if we can't get that sweet, sweet validation. And masturbating in public toilets is normal! All women do it. Have we mentioned how violent and dangerous lesbians are?" etc etc

whether or not there are any provisions in California law that specifically mention the arousal state of genitals in spaces like locker rooms
Which there won't be, so Merager could get away with having an erection in the women's section.
Then we could have a debate on whether transwomen are discriminated against because their penises show arousal whereas other women can hide their own arousal. And there will be some muppetty women who proudly claim that they get off in changing rooms and toilets all the time and that it's all perfectly normal.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 19/09/2021 17:37

@sharksarecool

I don't understand. If smear tests and period products can be just for "people with vaginas", why can't we just declare changing rooms/public toilets/sports teams as being for "people with vaginas"? It might be dehumanising but at least it would keep everyone safe
I think you have misunderstood the reason why it's so important for the TW to have access to the women's spaces. And I'm not saying it's for predatory reasons - they need it for validation. SOME may also have other reasons. That's why they don't accept the option of 3rd spaces - it's "othering".

Because that misses the whole point of what is wanted.

Female/ male are still mainly not gone so there's no need to have penises referenced on bog doors!

NiceGerbil · 18/09/2021 20:52

Oh what? I didn't realise it was old. Damnit!

I think a new thread might be good, Drifting.

FlyingOink · 18/09/2021 20:38

I know this is an old thread, but it's interesting that it's the same person.

I also think Merager has a chance of getting away with it.

Driftingblue · 18/09/2021 18:20

Sorry if I caused confusion. I thought about starting a new thead, but wanted to be clear about the link to the old incident. It’s definitely looking like this individual has a history of using women’s spaces where nudity is either expected (as in the pool locker room) or required (like at wispa). I will be completely shocked if the charges actually stick in the wispa case. The individual is not wrong. The California law allows access by self-declaration. If I was the defense attorney I might be looking into whether or not there are any provisions in California law that specifically mention the arousal state of genitals in spaces like locker rooms. I would be really surprised if there are.

ArabellaScott · 18/09/2021 17:29

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks, BeckyMumsnet.

YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 18/09/2021 17:23

Hi all - just a heads up that this thread was started in 2019 and some of the early links no longer work.

DisappearingGirl · 18/09/2021 13:24

The Norway case linked earlier in the thread is interesting. In which a natal woman was accused of harassing a trans woman when the former complained to the latter for showering naked at the gym.

It showed how confusing the issue is legally. I thought these statements were interesting:

"Law regarding legal sex does not give solutions to practical challenges for people who have changed legal sex. Use of changing rooms for persons who have changed legal sex is a question which has not been given a legal clarification. In this context the tribunal’s majority is of the opinion that the unclear legal situation causes uncertainty.

The remark that “she is provoked by seeing a penis in the changing room” can be interpreted as being directed at B and not the changing room set up. It’s a remark that could be considered offensive. The tribunal’s majority still find they must consider the situation the remark was made under, where the parties where in an intimate situation in a changing room. As long as the question regarding changing rooms for transpeople is unclear, transpeople must expect reactions by using sex segregated changing rooms. Even though it can be uncomfortable for transpeople to be subject to questions about what they’re doing in the women’s changing room, this does not qualify as harassment."

No, this one, which I posted this morning.

You seem to be having difficulty reading my posts, and Mummyoflittledragon's.

YouJustDoYou · 18/09/2021 13:13

What caused me fury is that WE, as females, have to leave if we see a penis-haver in our previously safe space. Why should we move?!! But...we have to. Because they wont. Because they will gleefully accuse us of being phobic. Our whole lives get cancelled. They LOVE this power over females....as they, men, have done, for all of history. But this has been the case for all of history. Females have ALWAYS had to make way for males.

ArabellaScott · 18/09/2021 13:06

The first article in the OP seems to have been taken down?

Oh, gosh, not again.

@GrinitchSpinach

It's about dominance. Marking territory. Knowing that they can walk around with their tackle out in front of women and girls, knowing that it makes them uncomfortable and afraid must be like a drug to them. We'll see these stories more and more, along with virtue signallers saying how they showered next to a TW and it was like a super-awesome experience.

Spot on, CatholicDadof2.

Yes.
