Sorry but "Creepy"? CREEPY?! What an odd choice of words. I'd say it's more creepy to be desperate to access to womens spaces but that's just me.

Does he not realise that this is about womens safety? These people are so clueless.

It's like they find something that's topical, doesn't matter if they are utterly ignorant of the subject then they "assume the woke position" all over social media and all the rest of the bien pensant join in.

I honestly think they don't pay any actual attention to what is being discussed as long as they can perform right think loudly and viciously so everyone can see them do it.

So, as a bloke who fully supports the feminist outlook on safeguarding women's spaces for human beings born female, Tauriq Moosa and his pals regard me as a mysoginist - ????????
Just looking through that Twitter feed tells me that they are a very mixed up bunch.

I rather liked this one:

It’s tied to class. It was explained to me that most of these “advocates” are rich women who got their equality and don’t want to “give any of it up.” Because as we all know, justice is a pie that has to be carved

Wrybread · 21/01/2019 14:14

No debate thing.....sorry my autocorrect hates me BlushHmm

Wrybread · 21/01/2019 14:13

I find it interesting that gender critical people tend to use logical arguments and evidence, whereas trans inclusive intersectional feminists often seem to shut things down by saying that their feminism includes men and/or they they've heard the arguments before and disagree with them....but don't say why.

I think I find it more creepy to do the do debate thing, then encourage people to think it all through and where it might lead

Huh, and the replies!
So many people so very confused by why women are saying things they don't agree with.
And I'm sure they could understand but of course this is coming from women who are mums, 'middle-class', 'middle-aged', 'feminists' or whatever other sexist term that means they don't have to listen or taken women seriously and instead can just be 'confused' at how all them wimmens aren't happily nodding along with them.

NoseringGirl · 21/01/2019 14:10

That thread was like going into an alternate universe. The UK is mostly upper class so that's why we're all transphobic? Is this the result of Americans learning about our culture through fictional TV shows? So bizarre.

deepwatersolo · 21/01/2019 14:09

One thread comment also talks about the misogyny (!) of it and one points out the misogyny of Glinner. I kid you not.
Words have lost all meanings.

But bad actors don't see themselves as bad, only "concerned"

Hilarious!

When you point the finger mate, four point back at you.

But then of course wokesters identify as being "in the right" so therefore it must be true.

FOTTFSOFATFOSM!

It is ignorance, lack of critical thought, lack of desire to understand other view points and a desire to be seen as "woke" or however you want to describe it.

wigglybeezer · 21/01/2019 14:02

That thread caused a major blood pressure rise! They are so off the mark!

elle1111112 · 21/01/2019 14:01

Yeah I know. Here's the full Tweet encase anyone can't click the link:

"keep discovering British people i follow are transphobic but dress up their transphobia under "caring for kids" and "erasing the true nature of women". What is up with Britain and its creepy, aggressive transphobia??"

"It's weird to me how aggressively some respond to trans folks' existence: Instead of love, compassion &/or understanding, it's aggression, scrutiny, suspicion & obsession. We need more of the former, less of the latter. But bad actors don't see themselves as bad, only "concerned"

These people are so clueless.

They really are, yet still they persist in farting out virtue signalling pish that they haven't spent more than two seconds thinking about in order to garner head pats and woke cookies.

Do better mate.

Floisme · 21/01/2019 13:56

That's a very unfortunate choice of word, particularly from someone who hopes to make a living from writing.
