Can't really see it catching on, to be honest.

'How has the form of your child been culturally interpreted?'

Is pre-emptive forking allowed?

My mum has just discovered the art of turning her hearing aids off when trapped amongst drivel mongers such as these. She's quietly elated.

Doobigetta · 14/01/2019 19:56

I think a more important question is “how much time could you spend with Hannah McCann before needing to stick forks in your eyes?”

ChewyLouie · 14/01/2019 19:56

Loving the comments on here 😀
Just trying to imagine someone actually coming out with this drivel when they first see a new born but my brain keeps switching to the AA episode with Father Jack when a do stops him buying a drink ... 🚑

coolcrispwinter · 14/01/2019 19:44

Well, if I say so myself, he's considered amazing! Work. Of. Art. No, Blush, no need to applaud...

CisMyArse · 14/01/2019 19:41

I bet John Cleese is wondering whether this is some piss-take revival of his Monty Python stuff. It's terrifying that folk are serious about this. Utterly terrifying.

When they squeeze something the size of a melon out of a whole the size of a lemon, they're going to feel incredibly stupid about what they've posted.

CisMyArse · 14/01/2019 19:38

Lang, I know I shouldn't but...

One of mine was ventouse-assisted (don't ask) and he spent his first week as a Conehead.

...has had me shaking in mirth.
Your poor, lovely little cone-Head.

CisMyArse · 14/01/2019 19:36

My idea of hell is to be stuck next to one of these nuts on a long airplane journey. I’d rub sachets of ketchup on my eyes to fake Ebola.

FFS Aspie there is tea and cake all over me and my friggin floor because of that Grin

FWRLurker · 14/01/2019 19:13

Why are they asking this question anyway? The only reason to ask this question would be to go on to apply the “appropriate” form of sex stereotypes to the child (of course, there are no appropriate sex stereotypes).

Because we aren’t talking about the differences due to the genital arrangement here - else “what is their biological sex” would work.

The only thing we can be talking about here are stereotypes. They want to know whether they should treat the child as “tough and rambunctious” or “delicate and quiet”. Because to them, stereotypes are actually ALL that matter. Biology is irrelevant after all.

Oh Threewheeler that made me laugh so much that I earned a baleful stare from the cat for waking her.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 14/01/2019 18:40

If anyone had asked me that when DS was a baby I’d probably pat them on the back of the hand and say loudly and slowly ‘is anyone with with you dead? and look around for carer.

I’m not being horrible but it sounds like something someone with a limited grasp would ask.

milkmoustache · 14/01/2019 18:36

Ooh! I want a WokePhone right now!!

AngryAttackKittens · 14/01/2019 18:33

WokePhone - like a normal phone, but costs more, has multiple features disabled on the grounds that someone finds them upsetting, and calls you a bigot in an annoying robot voice if it overhears you mentioning the fact that you need to buy tampons on your way home.

adultFemaleElf · 14/01/2019 18:30

*baby boy

Feck even my phone is gone woke and is silencing my use of sex specific words

adultFemaleElf · 14/01/2019 18:29

Guess this idiot wouldn’t step back when undoing the nappy of a baby baby then, and it’ll serve her right to get piss in her eye.

AngryAttackKittens · 14/01/2019 18:28

And of course what they have completely overlooked is that if you have two parents from different cultures, be that Jewish and catholic, french and English, black and white, hearing and non hearing, and so on - using the word ‘culturally’ throws a whole different feeling and interpretation onto that question, that in many cases could be seen at best as crass or insensitive and at worst as incredibly rude and insensitive; and nobody will be thinking that’s ok because they’re being woke about the baby’s sex.

Ah, but what do all of those things matter in comparison to the importance of gender? I mean, they identify as being intersectional...

KatherinaMinola · 14/01/2019 18:23

Grin Thank you!

SoftDay · 14/01/2019 18:21

Oh KatherinaMinola, thank you! On a bad day, you have given me a much needed laugh, ya legend!!

LangCleg · 14/01/2019 18:21

LOL Threewheeler1!

MrsWinkly · 14/01/2019 18:06

Lang
Mine too!
The health visitor gently told me it was time to take the sock/ hat thing off his head when she came round later in the week. I'd had to keep putting it back on cos he looked like a cross between Beaker from The Muppets and a thermos flask and it made me worry he'd get stuck like that. Then a week later I took him to the doctors as he seemed to have an unusually long bum crack...perfectly normal apparently. Teenage DS doesn't appreciate that story Grin

ThinkOfAWittyNameLater · 14/01/2019 17:53

I had no idea "brainstorming" could be insensitive. Oops. Is it...er... a very mean thing to say? Confused

I think, like others, I would have had the rage if anyone asked me that question about either WittyChild. Ridiculous.

Beerflavourednipples · 14/01/2019 17:53

What is people's problem with the 'so called sex' of the child?

How the fuck do these people think the child came to be in the first place???!

Beerflavourednipples · 14/01/2019 17:50

I think that might be the wokest thing I have ever seen.

Or it would be, apart from the fact it says 'brainstorm' which I thought became un-pc circa 2005.

Tut tut Hannah. Do better.

If I’d been asked that I think I’d be tempted to answer a grass eating kitten and see how they reacted... Grin
