but I still just had a slightly wry smile to myself.

I have an insanely hot date next Tuesday and I can't wait [drools slightly]. The man in question is mustard keen, and has;
-allowed his beard to grow for me as I like beards and prefer his face with some covering
-bought some massage gel
-plans clean socks
-informs me he will definitely shower first.

I have:
-had my hair cut
-bought 4 different lots of underwear including weird 'sexy' stuff but have fallen back on some new pants and stockings
-bought condoms
-had a facial
-spent a lot of time trying on different outfits and shopping
-booked an appointment to have all the hair ripped off my bottom
-booked reminders for painkillers, exfoliation and aftercare for this
-booked an appointment to have my feet titivated
-spent ages on GoogleMaps working out the most convenient shag-pad, transport times etc
-booked the shag-pad
-written a complex time-line allowing me to get DC off to school, ring my aged mum, do my work hours and get to the shag-pad in an appropriately clean and titivated state.

Now, of course nobody has asked me to do any of this (well, except the work). And a lot of it is enjoyable (not so much the hair ripping out). But it did make me laugh when he said 'I'll be putting on clean socks' as if he was scaling the peaks of preparation.

@ErrolTheDragon - I haven't seen Bridget Jones Baby. It's a true anecdote.

PatPhoenix · 09/01/2019 20:38

Sorry bad. I can see it was a crass comment from me.

Well, whatevs. If lady bits make you feel a bit icky that’s your business. It was more of a sly dig at some other, no phobic type people.

GrandmaSteglitszch · 09/01/2019 20:23

If you think about it logically, the whole sex thing is completely ridiculous.
Hope I'm not putting you off at all, Pat. Smile

PatPhoenix · 09/01/2019 20:19

I will 'fess up - yes he's bringing his own too. Hmm, my dubious OP is looking even more dubious.

I wish I could imagine being penis phobic. That sounds a bit odd. I'd just like to experience someone else's view properly, that's all. I guess I feel a bit weird and offput when I contemplate a woman's genitals, but I also wish I didn't feel that as it's rather self-loathing.

Personally, if I was straight, I wouldn’t have sex with him if he didn’t bring his own condoms. You can use yours, but a display of taking responsibility for his own spunk would have to be shown before his cock, or my condoms came out.

I hope he’s a good shag, and he takes responsibility for his sperm.

Blur, nearly boked typing that. I’m so penis phobic.

ChewyLouie · 09/01/2019 20:05

Stand by what I said, cheap shot. Next time you’re ‘on business’ pass this thread around and see what everyone thinks.
Hope the date goes well OP, end of my derail.

PatPhoenix · 09/01/2019 20:03

[muses on asking for sexy cut out bits in the socks like what I was looking at for knickers]

I have quite the horror of toes, so I think socks are Very Good Things and actually appreciate clean ones.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/01/2019 19:52

There was a morecambe and wise show once with a running joke about keeping your socks on - IIRC around the same time as the, er, benefits of having warm feet during sex had been discussed in the media.

Hope your condoms haven't gone out of date.

And the light cultural reference there is Bridget Jones' Baby

Charley50 · 09/01/2019 19:49

Hope your condoms haven't gone out of date. Happened to me once, they kind of smelled of egg. BlushGrin

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 09/01/2019 19:45

Noooooooooo!

NewYearsNiamh · 09/01/2019 19:45

I bloody well hope that he’s a good shag after all that. And he leaves his socks on throughout.

GrandmaSteglitszch · 09/01/2019 19:44

Definitely take personal responsibility for the condoms, but I hope he's brought some too - it shows he's got a bit of consideration.
Have fun!
(Hope he has clean undies as well as socks!)

PatPhoenix · 09/01/2019 19:41

And this is why I heart MN Grin

Mosques, Dr Scholl, discussions about islamophobia and taking socks off at the door. No other Internet forum does this IMO, especially on a thinly veiled 'I want to talk about my sex life' thread. Thank you all for letting me let off steam a bit!

With the amount of dog poo on our street (it’s got bad recently) and human poo (oh yes, dogs don’t do into little dark corners to deposit huge poos) on the street next to my office, in rather keen for people to take their shoes off in my home!

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 09/01/2019 19:37

Just an observation... got married in one, so hardly a cheap shot.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/01/2019 19:36

Ah, the question is whether visitors take their shoes off or not. I'm sure there's at least a thread a year about it ... though not usually on FWR starting from an OP about a hot date.Grin

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 09/01/2019 19:36

I'm not sure why noting that a mosque is a venue that requires you to remove your shoes is having a cheap shot at their expense. surely just an observation, no?

Confused
LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 09/01/2019 19:32

Slippers or dr schol type footwear.

Gronky · 09/01/2019 19:29

my house where we prefer shoes to be left on the mat

I thought that was the norm, do people who wear shoes at home have 'house shoes' or do they wear the same footwear inside the house as they do outside?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 09/01/2019 19:27

Not a ‘cheap shot’ at all. You assume I haven’t been their ‘on business’ as it were, so more to do with my frame of reference.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 09/01/2019 19:26

Or a temple? Or a dojo - that’s it - you are going to try kick boxing (better wear your comfy pants then).

ChewyLouie · 09/01/2019 19:25

Nah you don’t have to keep your socks on when you go to the mosque and no one cares what state your socks/footwear is in - they would probably raise an eyebrow at cheap shots made at their expense though.
