New target: Dr Louise Moody at York University. Deaf, lesbian, gender critical and precariously employed junior academic. She makes an innocuous joke about LM’s announcement on twitter about ‘coming out’ as a lesbian (ie being heterosexual). Cue a swift complaint to York asking for Louise to be fired, insinuating that LM is a student there themselves. Followed by lots of toady support by mainly males asking for this person to be ‘dealt with’. Including a female academic called Dr Jo Grady who uses terf-blocker and thinks it’s really cool to throw a disabled lesbian who is precariously employed under the bus. She has also commanded York to deal with the situation.

This is getting out of hand. Solidarity with Louise. I hope you’re okay. I actually blame people like Dr Grady more than LM, who clearly has serious issues. But how you can publicly call for someone’s sacking for this when you know what academia is like and how difficult it is for women, POC and disabled people is breathtaking. This is a lesbian woman who takes issue with a heterosexual male appropriating her marginalised status. Same as POC would presumably take issue if a white man started talking about his struggles being trans-black.

There's a rather nice response to LM's tweet on twitter:

"The hardest closet to come out of is one that doesn't exist"

Pretty much sums it up for me....

DeRigueurMortis · 03/01/2019 22:47

I rather liked this little exchange on twitter....

I can’t quite put into words what I want to say - all the eye rolling has left me feeling quite dizzy!

In any case, Louise, know that a lot of people have your back. Flowers Also never forget that you can’t argue with stupid!

NotTerfNorCis · 03/01/2019 21:59

Yes if I hadn't known better I would certainly have thought Madigan was a York student being cruelly and repeatedly bullied by a member of staff.

AbsintheFriends · 03/01/2019 21:57

She says she's a first year student but doesn't specify where so not really sure where people are getting that from?

Direct tweeting York and stating that they are a first year carries the distinct (and I would suggest deliberate) implication that they are at that university. If they had said 'I am a student' it would be more of a general statement.

dillydallyXX · 03/01/2019 21:56

One thing I've noticed is that trans people are very very sensitive about their faces.

Criticism about clothes, body shape, behaviour, vocabulary is challenged but doesn't seem to affect them unduly - but any comment about their facial features cuts them deep. Madigan has repeatedly tweeted about their face - how they want to change it, to reduce the masculine, angular features - and is begging for money for facial feminisation surgery. Madigan seems very sensitive about their face and what they see in the mirror when they're shaving.

SirVixofVixHall · 03/01/2019 21:56

Clearly that was worded so that a reader would think the tweeter was at York. - Another LM repeat tactic, tweet something ambiguously worded in a way that leads people to assume X , then deny X as it hasn’t been explicitly stated.
LM is staggeringly dim , but I still sometimes think that all of this is trolling, and that maybe LM somehow latched on to an effective tactic at the right time and so has been able to run with it, given enough gullible supporters.
Time is running out on it now though.

AngryAttackKittens · 03/01/2019 21:46

Tweeted at Sainsbury's from Waitrose.

FlyingOink · 03/01/2019 21:45

I read it as similar to the below:
"Hey, Microsoft, this person employed by you makes me feel bad. I'm a trainee and this makes me sad, please sack them" and not making it clear the trainee job is elsewhere.
Or
"Hey Sainsbury's, this person...I'm a customer..."
Etc
That's all

SirVixofVixHall · 03/01/2019 21:45

Labour party - This is what comes of shoring up a power crazy, vindictive personality. This tactic has worked for Madigan before, so it will keep being repeated.
A woman says something i don’t like ? I will bully her out of her job.
How the party of the working classes and trade unionists can have any association with someone who behaves like this is very hard to grasp.

GlitterStick · 03/01/2019 21:44

Flying Oink no worries Smile

FlyingOink · 03/01/2019 21:42

GlitterStick
In that case I apologise.

SirVixofVixHall · 03/01/2019 21:38

Sexnotgender I don't think that Madigan is fragile either. I think they are calculating and actually quite chilling
This.

GlitterStick · 03/01/2019 21:26

Not being disigenous Confused Not particularly a supporter either.
Was just saying from what she's tweeted it didn't say she was at York but people at beginning of thread were saying she was making out she was and that it was basically wrong to do so.
Me - she didn't say that though?

GlitterStick disingenuous supporter has arrived!
-LM complains to York
-claims to be a first year
-doesnt say where

How about
-i walk into a Ferrari dealership
-claim to have a million to spend
-i don't tell them it's one million rupees

GerryblewuptheER · 03/01/2019 21:19

Yy there was a photo of them in a crop top thing saying how they will be posting updates

Plus the moaning about the lack of appointments

Guess this confirms that yet again, another one with no intention of altering their body whilst simultaneously bamgomg on abkut suicide statistics and transphobia because someone didn't know who they were

MarmaladeSeason · 03/01/2019 21:18

Glitter I think Lily was ambiguous about it - Jo Grady tweeted something which definitely made it sound as though Lily is a York student

FlyingOink · 03/01/2019 21:18

That’s intersectionality for you. When you’ve run out of black lesbians to hound go for the disabled lesbians.
I did laugh at that, even though it's true.

This thread is going to get deleted anyway, I think... Madigan must enjoy getting a rise out of posters here.

NewYearBetterHealth · 03/01/2019 21:15

I thought they had started hormones. Hence the the rather weird tweet some months ago about them potentially posting photos of breast development? I forget the actual text, but that was the gist afaiwa

GlitterStick · 03/01/2019 21:14

I don't read it as she's posing as a student at York? It reads to me that she's saying this person repeatedly misgenders/ bullies her because she is trans.
She says she's a first year student but doesn't specify where so not really sure where people are getting that from?

As others have said, it goes like this. LM tweets goady stuff, LM gets their critics all riled up so that they post angry tweets, LM harvests the angry tweets, as do their supporters, then LM deletes their goady tweets. After that, the narrative of what happened is created according to which side can make the most noise on twitter.

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 03/01/2019 20:49

How must their mother feel?

I suspect she feels very very sorry.

Poor woman.

dillydallyXX · 03/01/2019 20:38

It's just more appropriation. First they were a woman, then a lesbian, then XX, then female (the female started after the 'adult human female' poster)

Madigan must have caused their family so much hurt and distress. How must their mother feel?
