Misgendered and violent

I know it's from the Daily Mail, but I can't find anyone else reporting on it. I've never seen a woman tell a man to "take it outside" or aggressively kick a display down because they've accidentally been called "sir"... (hope the link works).

Empress, that young women are unable to freely express their sexuality in 2018 is a very sad state of affairs. Not sure what I can do to help, ideas welcome.
It really does feel like we are in the midst of the male backlash against feminism.

numberseven · 28/12/2018 22:05

I was recently called a young man. As a middle aged aunty I wasn't sure whether to be offended or delighted. Grin

Wordthe · 28/12/2018 22:00

So the transwoman wants to be considered a female when it's to their advantage, but reserves the right to resort to typical male behaviour when it suits

this typical male behaviour if exhibited by a woman sized human would be awful enough but exhibited by a man sized human it is very very frightening and intimidating

this is a big bloke he could do a lot of damage, a large angry man is very threatening and intimidating to most people

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 28/12/2018 21:53

Chewy, at the last two FiLiAs I've been to there have been young lesbians practically in tears as they talk about the shit they get from the 'queer' community for not liking dick. Angry

That's one of the main reasons I'm so involved in this stuff. Lesbophobic rape culture disguised as wokeness.

MangoSplit · 28/12/2018 21:52

Awful Angry

Popchyk · 28/12/2018 21:49

Agreed, Shots.

It was a shakedown.

Which we are beginning to see a lot of from certain people who have real reason to hide their pasts. And their presents.

And where the US leads we must follow. 2019 will see more instances of exactly the same scenario playing out at your local branch of PoundStretcher.

What a time to be alive.

ChewyLouie · 28/12/2018 21:43

Empress
I was just thinking exactly the same thing and wondering how I could protect my child from this mindfuck if they are gay.
Gaslighting by society to accept men are women is inexcusable. I wonder if anyone is looking at the incidence of mental health issues for lesbians, the current climate must be having a horrendous effect.

ShotsFired · 28/12/2018 21:39

Can I just tale a moment to point out the catalyst for this?

The individual had sold back some used games at the shop and was offered store credit (normal policy).

They wanted cash.

So this is the outcome of that.

Ereshkigal · 28/12/2018 21:37

I think it is one of the problems when you spend your life in a closed environment on the internet where everyone praises you as brave and stunning. Real life is different.

This is exactly it.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 28/12/2018 21:36

I keep meaning to quiz him more on the issue...

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 28/12/2018 21:35

Possibly empress

Ds1 has his eyeroll down pat at the very least

HandsOffMyRights · 28/12/2018 21:34

As a 5ft 2 female I would be absolutely terrified of this in my female spaces. I'd be scared for my children too.

There is no defence. Those who see this entitled, violent, narcissistic, colonising fantasist as the victim need their heads examining too.

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 28/12/2018 21:33

That attitude is filtering down slowly to young gay men, according to ds1 at any rate

That's good, Rufus. Maybe they can help build a resistance.

KindOfAGeek · 28/12/2018 21:27

Y'all are missing the point.

The dude is able to play games online as a woman, so why is it so different in real life?

Wordthe · 28/12/2018 21:27

What a terrifying display of male style dominance behaviour

Someone made a genuine error

But the clerk did not make an error.

The clerk referred to the person in the way that the clerk always refers to male people. No error.

And then the customer referred to the person in the way that she always refers to male people. No error.

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 28/12/2018 21:19

I'd bloody hate being a young lesbian nowadays.

StarsAndWater · 28/12/2018 21:19

This person has not been verbally abused, racially insulted or homophobically bullied. Someone made a genuine error and they are graceless enough to throw a temper tantrum in response.

This is not a rights movement. It’s a dominance movement.

This

BubonicBudgie · 28/12/2018 21:14

Now that I do believe. I was young once too

AnyFucker · 28/12/2018 21:05

I am was young ( once) Grin

Awrite · 28/12/2018 20:49

Wouldn't want to share a toilet with that bloke.

Anothermothersusername · 28/12/2018 20:48

I find that video absolutely terrifying. What a truely fucked up world this has become.

RitaFairclough · 28/12/2018 20:45

I think it is an automatic reaction isn’t it? It’s a lifetime of just ‘knowing’ what sex people are. I recently met a transman - friend of a friend. Lovely person - I really liked him and we got on well.

I’d seen pics of him on social media before we met and he looks like a man. I had never had any trouble referring to him as a man, using Male pronouns etc. But when I actually met him I had SUCH trouble not saying she and even now I’m finding it tricky - though I would never want to upset him and I would try hard not to.

Because he is very slight - probably 5ft 2ish with delicate features my brain sees him and thinks woman. He was just wearing jeans and a t-shirt (same as I was) and consequently I found that in real life, he looks like a pretty woman with short hair. It’s like a constant clash in your brain. At least that’s what I thought.
