Misgendered and violent

I know it's from the Daily Mail, but I can't find anyone else reporting on it. I've never seen a woman tell a man to "take it outside" or aggressively kick a display down because they've accidentally been called "sir"... (hope the link works).

Fermats Grin

FermatsTheorem · 31/05/2019 14:54

Empress I think it just makes them a risk taker. I mean, sparklers while cad only in Y fronts - that's a trip to the burns unit just waiting to happen.

EmpressLesbianInChair · 31/05/2019 13:49

If somebody plays with glitter & sparklers while wearing their Y-fronts does that make them nonbinary?

IAmAlwaysLikeThis · 31/05/2019 13:38

"t’s the switch in your brain that flips it from a compulsion to eat pies and watch football in your Y-fronts to playing with glitter and sparklers."

Don't forget the high-pitched voice and not being able to lift chairs.

AlwaysComingHome · 31/05/2019 13:18

Does "girl mode" basically mean putting a dress and make up on?

My partner has a female identity

What's a female identity? Can you clarify that without resorting to hackneyed and trite stereotypes? Being transsexual, I've never had a "female identity", only my OWN identity. Surely having a "female identity" is just appropriation? Just curious what a female identity actually is.....

and would not behave this way in "girl mode"
You realise how offensive that phrase is to women right? Not only does it sound infantilising but it's demeaning to the lived experiences of women. It's misogynistic, ridiculous and sounds akin to putting on 'womanface'

Being a woman/girl is not something you can put on and take off like a costume - because no matter how many dresses they wear or how much makeup they put on, they can never change sex and actually BE a woman/girl.

Saying that - there's absolutely nothing wrong with crossdressing or mucking around with gender stereotypes, as long as you're not infringing on the rights of others (or causing offense) while doing it.

EmpressLesbianInChair · 31/05/2019 11:55

8th rule of misogyny: Men are whatever men say they are and women are whatever men say they are.

Here's to TheBewilderness. Wine

I'd say I'll call it what I want roughly sums up the attitude of the woke.

I'll do say enter what or where I want because it's my choice and that is the most important thing in the world.

I prefer the term LARPing.

At a time where there appears to be a war on women, I prefer ‘stolen valour’.

terryleather · 31/05/2019 09:40

Agree, the term girl mode is ridiculous...worse is en femme which gives me the radge/boak in equal measure.

EmpressLesbianInChair · 31/05/2019 09:30

I don't like the phrase 'girl mode' either. I think Eddie Izzard uses it for when he's in heels & makeup.

But I also think the decent ones, however they're presenting at the time, even if their friends say it's OK, will stay out of women's toilets & changing rooms because they'll recognise that their presence may make women uncomfortable and also that if they're in there, it makes it easier for other men to come in too.

AlwaysComingHome · 31/05/2019 09:07

‘Girl mode’ sounds like something from manga/anime, like ‘autistic mode’ in Ghosts in the Shell

EmpressLesbianInChair · 31/05/2019 09:05

My partner has a female identity and would not behave this way in "girl mode".

Does he respect women’s single-sex spaces & stay out of them, even when in costume?

FermatsTheorem · 31/05/2019 09:00

I've heard the term "girl mode" before, and honestly, what a fucking offensive term for part time cross dressing. Give me an honestly in your face misogynistic drag act on the northern club circuit any day. At least then they're being honest about belittling women, and it's so in your face you know to fight back. None of this dress-it-up-in-woke-speak shit to get daft young women to play along with their own humiliation.

Trust me as an old gimmer - one day you will look back on this piece of your life and recognise this person as a narcissistic, self absorbed twunt.

Help help I'm being oppressed

Wow, wish I could identify in and out of being a "girl".

Or, presumably your partner being an adult "woman".

LittleDoll · 31/05/2019 00:43

In fact I've used the wrong label for the wrong person and we made a joke of it. This kind of person would find something g else to behave the exact same way about if it weren't the trans thing.

*They did proper squish him I doubt he evne grazed his knees. If he had carried his own weight and stopped dropping to the floor he wouldn't have made such a fuss and they wouldn't have needed more people.

He acted like a toddler who doesn't want to go out in the rain!

CuriousaboutSamphire · 30/05/2019 11:40

Oh stop it! Armed police for people who don't buy tickets. Twat!

I saw a man who wlikely has numerous issues asked to leave a 'ticketed' area of Pride. I saw bemused and worried looking security try to usher him away, on first contact he threw himself towards the ground shouting as though he were being murdered. Then decided he could make more of a point if went the political route and start shouting about profit before people. I did like the security guy's response to that...

I heard the person filming sound distressed, and then decide it was police brutality.

I saw more security try to restrain the man without actually touching him or breaking his phone - yes they need more training, sod the phone!

Then I heard that line about armed police for people without tickets.

Fucking idiot! He should be ashamed. PN should be ashamed they carried it without giving more room to the fact hat he was being a twat and was a gatecrasher.

Chiochan · 29/05/2019 23:49

I was misgendered in PC world today (first time ever) by the security guard. We both had a right old giggle.
