Are women hated because we are weak?

I'm sure there's been a thread about this before but I am wondering again- why do we hate women?

Straight men hate women.
Women often seem to hate women.
Transwomen often seem to hate women.
Gay men often often seem to hate women.

Why? What is it about us which is so detestable?

Is it because we are seen as weak due to femininity? Our reliance on men? That we have not contributed as much to society as men allegedly?

Is because women can have children and men can't?

Is it because straight men want sex with us so much and we control that?

And I do see where they're coming from in some aspects, but you don't hear many American men complaining that they still have to sign up for the draft to get the privileges that women get for nothing (state funded education etc).

And you also don't hear many men complaining about the fact that they usually miss a large part of their offsprings' early years. Men and women each have their own unique privileges and oppressions but men tend to just get on with it (man up) which likely explains why a fair number aren't very sympathetic.

ScottCheggJnr · 22/12/2018 00:20

Many men can barely conceal their contempt for us when we challenge their privilege.

I think that some men, after having died by the millions in wars and always been the ones expected to go out and provide for the family, feel it a bit rich that feminists have tried to make it look like the injustice was on them.

Many men don’t view women as the same species - merely a lesser one for their use and abuse - like a cow 🐄 used in factory farming - it’s just that she’s their personal pet name cow, to be disposed of once she has been drained and past her prime.

FloralBunting · 21/12/2018 23:44

Actually, I think it's worse than hate. A saint in my religion once said that the opposite of love is not hate, it is mere use.

Many men can barely conceal their contempt for us when we challenge their privilege. Many more give no fucks at all as long as their purposes are served.

BlindYeo · 21/12/2018 23:41

In many countries of the world, women have unwanted babies because they are forced to. Mere pestering would be considered a fucking holiday.

Married off at a young age to a man you didn't choose, denied access to contraception and regularly raped (and it is rape if you didn't choose the relationship) so you have as many babies as your society deems a good macho look for the man.

These women are probably not hated though, because they're doing what they're made to. It's when we start protesting and doing things a bit differently we start being hated for our uppity ways.

GoldenWonderwall · 21/12/2018 22:42

It was me and I didn’t say what Scot interpreted it as. I appreciate my wording was slightly ambiguous but I clarified later. But don’t let that get in the way of over a day of self righteous huffing and puffing.

Bubonicpanic · 21/12/2018 16:04

Immediately after that was written Scott people countered it. BTW my husband pestered me to have babies. It does happen.

The conversations on here involve a lot of people and a lot of views. It's a mistake to pick the few posts that you really don't like and decide that they are the prevailing viewpoint. No doubt I will get a bollocking for saying this. Xmas Smile

ScottCheggJnr · 21/12/2018 15:56

It's the massive over-generalisations I take issue with, as seemingly do a lot of other people. Women have babies because men pester them to? Really?

Helmetbymidnight · 21/12/2018 15:11

*the ones who complain the loudest seem also to be the ones who are the least willing to do anything’

Right. So you interpreted one individual stating there’s nothing women can do to mean-

  • a She is complaining
B she has done nothing and-never has. C The other women who ‘complain’ have also done nothing.

What is it you’d really like Scott? That we’d stop ‘complaining’ about male violence?

ScottCheggJnr · 21/12/2018 15:02

Where’s your basis for that? Where on earth is your evidence that the women who discuss male violence haven’t done or don’t do anything about it?

Well, logic suggests that if an individual is staying that there's nothing women can do, then they're probably not doing anything. If they were, they would be disproving their own statement.

Helmetbymidnight · 21/12/2018 14:48

Yes ladies, all feminists must burn was trying to be helpful - he just needs love and support. Confused

PanGalaticGargleBlaster · 21/12/2018 14:47

School holidays have obviously started. Somehow I don't think the new generation of males is going to change anything for women.

What’s the point of them even trying if people like you write them off before they are even out of shorts!

Bobbywashere · 21/12/2018 14:25

School holidays have obviously started. Somehow I don't think the new generation of males is going to change anything for women.

Helmetbymidnight · 21/12/2018 14:22

Hence, my comment about the people complaining the most being the ones least likely to try and do anything.

Where’s your basis for that? Where on earth is your evidence that the women who discuss male violence haven’t done or don’t do anything about it?
It sounds like you want women to stop complaining about the 7 of us who will be killed by a partner or ex this month- but I’m sure you can’t possibly mean that.

I wonder what’allfeministsneedtoburn’ said? But I’m sure it was nice because men all love women and don’t want to stop them speaking.

FestiveNut · 21/12/2018 13:53

@allfeministsneedtoburn

Reported. Honestly, why can we not have a sensible debate without this sort of nonsense?

RebelWitchFace · 21/12/2018 13:49

kill urself, you would make this planet better, we don't need sensitive people like you in this world, please, go fucking die

Nope..no hate at all. Hmm

transsexual individuals For this phrase alone Scott you are a transphobe, a 'te=*rf' and a bigot.

GoldenWonderwall · 21/12/2018 13:12

Scot give it a rest. I’ve never seen any evidence that you have any intention of listening to anything anyone’s got to say. You come on as the self appointed voice of reasonable men and use your homemade podium to whine about your office job or whatever. Stats ignored, evidence ignored, arguments flit all over the place to whatever fits your agenda. My agenda, and I only speak for me, is to clarify for me what the liberation of women looks like when done well and then apply that to my life and support others in doing so too. It’s nothing to do with man hating or any other bullshit you’ve convinced yourself feminism is.

ScottCheggJnr · 21/12/2018 13:09

I have read the thread- what was it you were trying to say?

Is it not obvious?

Posters were complaining about men. Posters stated that 'we can't do anything about it, only men can.' I contested this and actually quoted the original post.

Hence, my comment about the people complaining the most being the ones least likely to try and do anything.

GoldenWonderwall · 21/12/2018 13:04

Maybe power is the wrong word then? Maybe if you’ve somehow demonstrated that you are able to lead and people have their faith in you that you can do that and do it well and whatever the word is for those people, 50% are women. Altruistic rather than domineering. Obviously not all women in power would be like that Xmas Hmm for the hecklers at the back!

RebelWitchFace · 21/12/2018 12:56

you'd never dare make the same statements against ethnic groups or socioeconomic groups who also exhibit increased levels of violence and criminal offending (I wonder why).

Who are also predominantly men.

Helmetbymidnight · 21/12/2018 12:40

I have read the thread- what was it you were trying to say?

ScottCheggJnr · 21/12/2018 12:37

Helmet, go back and read the thread properly and all will become clear.

Helmetbymidnight · 21/12/2018 12:25

I just don't understand why the ones who complain the loudest seem also to be the ones who are the least willing to do anything about it
