Well done, Janice. Richly deserved.

Janice said: “When you write about really difficult and toxic subjects it really helps to have your newspaper behind you and I just want to thank the Times... who have been completely behind me in dealing with something that is complicated. I have a privilege in being able to write about this difficult subject, which is not something women in universities have at the moment, and I urge that we debate this more thoroughly and freely.”

Congratulations, Janice! No more than you deserve.

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 10/12/2018 22:27

BRILLIANT, so well deserved. Congratulations Janice!

TheLastSaola · 10/12/2018 22:26

Also worth mentioning her excellent work describing her mother's dementia and decline - another difficult an emotive subject that she has brought great clarity and honesty too, though in a very different way to her work on trans issues.

Very well deserved.

Another bit of good news from the British Journalism Awards:

First up tonight it’s the Technology Journalism prize - and it goes to @carolecadwalla of @ObserverUK for TheCambridge Analytica Files

Cat woman triumphs!

Great news and very well deserved 💐🥂

Reminds me I was going to sign up for a Times subscription as their GC coverage has been so good (and Guardian has been hopeless 😢)

GenderIsAPrison · 10/12/2018 22:20

That's fantastic.

What's the story with the resignations?

GrinitchSpinach · 10/12/2018 22:20

Wonderful!

ChattyLion · 10/12/2018 22:19

Brilliant news. Her work over the last few years in this area has been personally brave and always insightful. Janice has also written articles on pro choice issues when it was not a popular area for journalists to cover. She seems to always be thinking ahead of the curve, always telling the truth, always sensitive to how these big issues will play out for women. I hope she knows how much this is appreciated and it’s fantastic to see it recognised here.

Badstyley · 10/12/2018 22:19

Brilliant, well done Janice. I’m glad your work has been recognised. That and all the flack you’ve taken for it. I can’t do emojis so here’s some wine.

Bittermints · 10/12/2018 22:17

Yes, I think there were resignations. This is from the Press Gazette, which I think is a pretty prestigious one.
