"
❤️Jane Austen was a Super Plus fan, Lizzie preferred a Mooncup + Emma didn't leave Hartfield without her Thinx. But some bleeders in the UK can't afford sanitary products, imagine the scandal at the ball!💃🏽 Donate to @bloodygood__ this Festive Period & help someone's #flowhoho❣️"

Very disappointing. I can't believe we are back in the Middle Ages so comprehensively.
And no, using 'bleeder' is not "more inclusive" because it includes trans men. It is massively, massively reducing women to a (distasteful and historically considered 'impure') bodily function.

Can I start referring to men as "standuppissers"?

Penny, thanks for the list, speaks volumes.
One to add - women in the men’s list 🤦‍♀️

Pennydrew142 · 13/12/2018 17:57

Seriously, the conversation is always: women you will be called what we decide and if you complain you’re whinging bigots. These are the names I’ve seen so far for women:
Womxn
Non-prostate owners
Cervix havers
Non menstruators
Bleeders
Non-Men ( thank you Green Party )
Terfs
Nazis
Bigots
Middle aged bitches
Cis women

Men I’ve seen:
Cis Men
Men

Please feel free to add any I have yet to see/hear/be referred to as

VickyEadie · 13/12/2018 17:44

It goes like this, doesn't it?

TRAs: don't call us transwomen - we're trans women.

Women: don't call us cis women - we're women.

TRAs: fuck off, bigots.

Women: don't call us bleeders - we're women.

TRAs: fuck off, bigots.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 13/12/2018 17:37

I only heard of it as in tv hospital or detective show, when someone has been shot or stabbed ‘emergency - we’ve got a bleeder! Quick ten units of (whatever flavour blood comes in)’

SirVixofVixHall · 13/12/2018 17:34

Couldn't agree more on “bleeders” being extraordinarily offensive when you know that asylum seekers are their core user group. Many of the women and girls they help will have witnessed bloodshed of a much more terrifying type.
Also agree re Prick News. The only time I had heard “bleeders” used, prior to bloomin Thinx having it on their website, was in gay clubs when i was in my teens and early 20s.

SunsetBeetch · 13/12/2018 17:26

I've never listened to The Guilty Feminist podcast, but I've seen them mentioned on here. They've been so patronising towards some women today on this issue. And they did the TRA thing of equating trans women with black women!!!

So I agree, they are guilty.

Actually I like makeup, and I very much like clothes. I’m still absolutely a feminist.

AssassinatedBeauty · 13/12/2018 17:13

They really do have contempt for women. Anyone who doesn't get on board with being called a bleeder or a menstruator is a troll! What total misogyny. And as was said many many times on the Twitter thread, you can be inclusive by referring to women, trans-men and non-binary people. Or if you really must, just "people" would do. Why there's a need to invent these dehumanising terms for women/girls I don't know.

Theperfectchangeling · 13/12/2018 17:12

Well said chewie

RKWill
Whilst we (still) have a functioning NHS no-one should miss school because of painkillers, they will get them for free. On the other hand many girls may well miss school because the pain control available is inadequate. What we actually need is more research into endometriosis, adenomyosis etc, this may well be difficult once transpeople start complaining that the meagre research into these women’s health issues is not inclusive enough for them.
Campaigns to support women should not centre men, end of.
I doubt there would ever be a male sexual health campaign around condoms, that centres trans men.

Katvonblackdeath · 13/12/2018 17:04

*bleeders
Ffs even autocorrect doesn't do this shit

Katvonblackdeath · 13/12/2018 17:03

"Anti trans trolls" = women who don't like being referred to as breeders.

God, Penis News hate females don't they?

I just can’t get over ‘bleeders.’

Imagine the amount of blood you’d see in a war zone where people are being blown apart or if your family has been beaten or tortured.

You finally get to safety and then some woke pillock calls you a bleeder instead of a woman. But hey, women’s feelings don’t matter do they?

Theperfectchangeling · 13/12/2018 16:24

Or of course just Ass.

A. Sperm. Shooter. Grin

TwistedStitch · 13/12/2018 16:24

Trans people must have their preferred pronouns obeyed under threat of being banned from social media/ reported to the police. But women who object to being called cis/ non men/ and now bleeders (!) need to get over themselves and accept whatever dehumanising descriptor they are given. Fuck that.

Theperfectchangeling · 13/12/2018 16:23

“For short - Assesss?”

Love it! In fact it Sounds a good name for a charity! Any takers? Grin

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 13/12/2018 16:17

Theperfectchangeling · 13/12/2018 15:53

Hooray!

Woke Bloke RK has come in and set us all straight. That’s it crazy transphobe bleeders of mumsnet, stand down! You don’t get to be offended because Charideee... and the highjacked millenial buzzword. #inclusivity.

Off now to pop that vibrator back where it belongs. Hmm

HomeStar · 13/12/2018 15:03

There’s so much colonisation of other people’s narratives and stories in this movement.

I know it’s cynical but I imagine much of the point of this campaign may have been to impose TRA language and categories onto refugee women. Because they like to believe that transness as it currently manifests in the West is a biological universal not a culturally specific phenomenon. So forcing their categories onto women from other cultures is a way for them to validate their narrative. And nothing is more important to TRAs than validating their narrative.

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 13/12/2018 14:53

adultfemaleElf - they’ll not be back - too busy saving depressed badgers - unlike us selfish arses. I don’t know how I sleep at night smh.

adultFemaleElf · 13/12/2018 14:34

Did someone really come on just to tell us what to think.
And that we can’t multi task and be both angry about misogyny AND nice and helpful to people in need. People who happen to be women, suffering because of structural misogyny.
We have to choose, be nice or be angry.

RKWill please consider that in the time it took you to create an account, do the email clicky thing and write your notice to us, you could have been saving the world. Now which is the better use of your time huh?

Mumfun · 13/12/2018 14:11

Such a good point Hackmum and previous posters. The TRAs are in gender prison. And they are also in adult human female prison. They think adult human females should just do all the gentle womanly stuff. They cannot conceive that you do that plus being either a QC lawyer or a farmer or a top flight pilot or a boxer or a mayor.

It is the intelligence and willingness to think broadly that sets apart the gender critical Trans folk and supporters. The others are stuck

And again it is so weird for TRAs to aspire to being women without 1) understanding them at all 2) Empathising with them 3) and also with actually hating them which many seem to also

stillathing · 13/12/2018 14:04

And spend your time supporting a cause that helps them, or another cause close to your heart.

And its precisely because many of us do with either our careers or our voluntary action that we care about this issue.

I work with refugees regularly (but I tend to save most of my virtue signalling for when I am not scared into online anonymity otherwise what's the point?!) They are an extremely marginalised community which goes without saying. Women on the margins stand to lose the most from poor government decisions be it austerity or the erosion of single sex services.

Just because they do some good it does not mean BGP are incapable of harm. And there's something about the cloak of respectability that charitable organisations wear that makes the harm harder to call out. Think how long before the Oxfam abuse scandal came out in the open.

I am angry with any organisation or individual who purports to be for women but who hold misogynist beliefs. They take platforms, positions and funding. I don't think it's necessary for me to wrap my anger in platitudes about the good intentions that I'm sure the BGP people also have.
