You're not the only one. A thwarted narcissist is a very dangerous person, and there are going to be more and more of them about as the trans narrative starts to unravel.

YY.

AnyFucker · 10/12/2018 18:05

caro I am incensed at what you and your family are being put through

BreakWindandFire · 10/12/2018 13:12

Caroline. Sorry to hear that the harassment is still ongoing. With regard to the lack of police action, have you spoken to your local MP and asked him or her to raise your case with the relevant Home Office Minister? Might give the police a kick up the backside.

Carowiththegoodhair · 10/12/2018 12:34

I agree. Hate crime should be an aggravating factor not a crime in and of itself.

Saying “I hate Catholics they are all evil and ignorant” is NOT a hate crime and neither should it be.

Saying “I want to hurt you and bring tears to your eyes and make you suffer for being a Catholic **” - malicious comms/harassment with religious hatred being an aggravating factor.

Bowlofbabelfish · 10/12/2018 11:58

I guess what I’m trying to say is that I’d be wary of getting g rid of hate crime legislation- it just needs to be applied with a dose of common sense.

Rather lacking just now...

Bowlofbabelfish · 10/12/2018 11:57

I think I remember reading that Green had a close family connection in WYP, AAK

I’m not 100% sure on that though.

Such situations raise serious questions. How far can an individual make drastic changes in policy in a national service (police/teaching/government/NHS ) with no oversight or consensus?

Should we be aiming to agree with a more right-wing analysis that the entire concept of hate crime that the State has an interest in prosecuting is flawed?

This is a difficult one. I can see how hate crime legislation is being abused. But there first must be an actual crime, and that crime must be deemed driven by hate (is that right?) I think the problem is that what’s being reported isn’t a crime in the first place. Hate crime legislation isn’t designed to stop people having opinions others disagree with or upsetting people - it’s supposed to be about crimes.

If you slag off the church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster online you’re not committing a hate crime.

If you burn down the church of the FSM you are committing a hate crime. A crime (arson) motivated by hate (of His Noodly Goodness.)

AngryAttackKittens · 10/12/2018 11:10

Better forewarned than taken by surprise though. Not that that's much comfort.

LangCleg · 10/12/2018 10:59

A thwarted narcissist is a very dangerous person

This.

hipsterfun · 10/12/2018 10:51

You're not the only one.

Me too. But I have this frankly superstitious thing about expressing it out loud or even thinking it too loud.

AngryAttackKittens · 10/12/2018 10:41

Isn't Susie Green's ex a former higher up in that police force, Bowl?

AngryAttackKittens · 10/12/2018 10:39

This is worrying me too and not just Harrop. The TRA narrative is starting to fall apart, and the TRAs are getting angrier and angrier, and because the police don't give a shit things seem to be starting to escalate. I'm worried someone is actually going to get hurt.

You're not the only one. A thwarted narcissist is a very dangerous person, and there are going to be more and more of them about as the trans narrative starts to unravel.

This Week In Denunciations

I chuckled so hard I aggravated my sports injury. Thanks a bunch, Sophocles.

NotMeOhNo · 10/12/2018 10:17

No that was the Lawyer™ Steph wozzername.

ViragoKnows · 10/12/2018 10:16

No; the other one last time. The one who believes themselves to be a lawyer.

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 10/12/2018 10:15

Was he the reason the police visited last time @Glinner? I can’t remember.
If so, and it is found to be a waste of police time, would it not therefore be considered harassment?

SophoclesTheFox · 10/12/2018 07:53

I think we need a running thread on This Week In Denunciations. We could catch up on who's been caught in a wrong think, who needs a stint in the gulag, perhaps a look forward to people who are showing signs of breaking rank and who might need a bit of pre-emptive reeducation.

Glinner, I suspect that you would be a regular feature Grin Well done on treating Harrop's tantrums with exactly the baffled lack of reaction they deserve.

hipsterfun · 10/12/2018 00:17

Blimey, Glinner, it’s the gift that keeps on giving, this business Brew Best wishes to you.

Annandale · 09/12/2018 23:39

I do feel a bit upset about this - I suppose the youngsters would say I'm feeling triggered. Can this possibly be the way it looks? Of course I think it's OK for the police to pursue allegations of malicious communication, but this on the face of it doesn't seem understandable - as a pp said, surely the investigation could start with a review of the communication involved and whether it could be considered malicious?

I sat in my bedroom with furniture pushed up against the door and called 999 in fear of my life because a psychotic family member with a knife was downstairs, and was told to contact the mental health services, the police wouldn't come out to me. (They've since apologised). Resources are limited. Someone has to decide what gets prioritised and what gets studied. Who is making those decisions?

I've got no interest in 'flooding' the police with reports, I think that's daft. Should we be aiming to agree with a more right-wing analysis that the entire concept of hate crime that the State has an interest in prosecuting is flawed? I'm seeing the point right now, for sure.

BirdseyeFrozen · 09/12/2018 22:53

Sandy. Brilliant as always, thanks Flowers

BirdseyeFrozen · 09/12/2018 22:52

@glinner All the best to you and yours. The fecker is running scared. Cowardly Custard's and Many Companies' last stand.

Bowlofbabelfish · 09/12/2018 22:13

I can only think that this is being pushed downwards onto the rank and file.

I would like to know by who.

TeiTetua · 09/12/2018 21:25

And after the pointless police visit comes--the prosecution! How dare anyone oppress this dear man!

Mumfun · 09/12/2018 21:22

Flowers to Caroline and Glinner.

So sorry you are having such a hard time.

Caroline I cant believe yours has got to such an extent. Really shocking and hope police will do something

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 09/12/2018 20:11

Fragile ego and a very unstable angry man. Not a good combo. He HATES women. I'd never want to be treated by someone like him - and a worry for me is he is so obsessed with this crusade (even though its massively damaging his career and he doesn't even have any 'skin in the game') that he must be on high alert to anyone, including patients, who are not en-pointe with the TRA-accepted language and suspect they are "transphobic".

Does he give those people his best standard of care?

Calvinsmam · 09/12/2018 19:45

Oh here some one brings up the carceral punishment thing on harrops tweet.

But then suggests sending people for ‘compelled education in transgender stuff’. ShockConfused
