Sorry if there's already been a thread, literally just seen this myself

Theybies?

Do children really not have a clue about gender till 4 then suddenly at 4 they know??

I don't understand the world right now!

Brings to mind the comment someone made on Twitter about the similarities to the concept of a vegan cat (ie. we all know whose choice that really was).

These people start from so far inside the box that they can't event see the box

This. How can an aggressively commercial ideology creating nothing more than prisons of market segments ever be thought of as progressive?

SpaceDinosaur · 08/12/2018 09:28

Juuuuuust gonna ask...

Isn't "baby" a non denominational term anyway?

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 08/12/2018 08:42

Not that the child at 4yrs old chooses the set of gendered stereotypes they would like to sign up to

yes this

These people start from so far inside the box that they can't event see the box

here's a revolutionary idea. what if some boys just like glitter and unicorns and nails varnish (in fact most young boys like nail varnish in my experience) and it means nothing apart from describing their personality?

Words matter.

"The first time I changed the world was when I told my mates to call me she rather than he. I literally constructed a new world where its possible to understand myself as a genderqueer woman, despite being asigned male at birth simply by changing the language to describe myself. This is why language and pronouns are so important. Its about creating a world in which trans people are allowed to exist"

ARggggghhhhhh!

There is so much to be said for limiting the sex-based stereotypes which influence socialisation of children.

It means a male child (boy) or female child (girl) may be freer from society's gendered-stereotypes rather than limited by them.

Not that the child at 4yrs old chooses the set of gendered stereotypes they would like to sign up to.

"You can be equal, but different, which they are"

Why so many denying biology?!

There are bio differences! He said, and he laughed at her.

LassWiADelicateAir · 08/12/2018 03:23

Here's another one with her.

We don't have time for you to define bio- energetics on this show, so I'm just going to let that pass

Mrstwiddle · 08/12/2018 02:44

Interviewer: what other profound life decisions do we think people should be making at age 4?!

This made me smile, the expression on the interviewers face is priceless

LassWiADelicateAir · 08/12/2018 02:14

Tucker Carlson is a master of the incredulous look.

I know that most of what he does is laughing at liberals (who frequently deserve it) but the irony meter was off the scale when he told her "no toxic masculinity in my studio"

Someone needs to explain to that woman the difference between sex and gender.
