Guess how many teams only featured biological women before clicking the link.

I had read it as such as well...

ForgivenessIsDivine

Rereading the original tweet it looks like I've overstated it and the tweeter was referring to the Australia - Iran final rather than the tournament as a whole.

Apologies, looks like I need to look before I leap.

@Freespeecher I have been struggling to substantiate the fact that all of the other teams with the exception of Iran included transwomen. Do you have any other links to this fact?

andyoldlabour · 05/12/2018 10:21

@snowbear66,

Things are slowly changing for the better in Iran

Igneo
What the fuck is Australia thinking nominating this person for a national team?
Absolutely.

Policies changed, by stealth, no one challenged it, because the wider public across the world were unaware.
Big, big pots of money to support these changes.
HM has people supporting his actions, they all have.

I would really like to see women and girls boycott all events where it is inappropriate to have these kind of mixed events.

Unfortunately this would also be bad for womens and girls sport.
Seeing the faces of the women shows it all.
I despair.

And omg
I'm angry.

snowbear66 · 05/12/2018 10:04

It's no surprise that trans women have taken over the Iranian football team as women in Iran are not even allowed to watch football in the stadium.

frazzled1 · 05/12/2018 08:49

And no, Mouncey isn't fat. Mouncey is a solid wall of the kind of muscle that you need a Y chromosome to build.

This.

Igneococcus · 05/12/2018 08:44

It's just the best sport there is, isn't it warsaw Smile

I used to play mixed teams once I finished playing properly competitivly and it's not only the size difference. There were so many male players bumping into me because they thought they should play a ball rather than the woman who was in the better position (and the better player). Luckily I can shout very loudly and I'm very happy to do so.

AngryAttackKittens · 05/12/2018 08:43

And no, Mouncey isn't fat. Mouncey is a solid wall of the kind of muscle that you need a Y chromosome to build. I strongly suspect that Mouncey is perfectly aware of that fact but is sexist enough to think that complaining about feeling fat is a lady thing that ladies do and will thus incline the ladies to feel more sympathetic towards Mouncey's physically imposing self.

It does not.

AngryAttackKittens · 05/12/2018 08:41

Two pictures actually, the lovely young woman in the hijab being loomed over by a person she hasn't the slightest hope of competing fairly against and the young woman in the photo of Mouncey playing footie whose facial expression frankly speak for all of us.

frazzled1 · 05/12/2018 08:20

Hannah tweets about being 'hideously fat', having 'no neck', 'fat cheeks' in recent handball pics.

No Hannah you are taller and larger in every way from the other competitors not because of eating too much etc but because of the simple fact that you ......

A picture really is worth a thousand words.
So true.

SophoclesTheFox · 05/12/2018 08:13

I would like to thank Hannah for Hannah's services to feminism.

A picture really is worth a thousand words.

OrchidInTheSun · 05/12/2018 08:01

The expression on her face is priceless isn't it Vovo?

frazzled1 · 05/12/2018 08:00

Seeing Hannah in action really really shows off Hannah's mahooosive arm reach compared with the actual ...... players

Warsaw0912 · 05/12/2018 07:57

@Igneococcus my main sport is volleyball too Grin totally agree that let alone the concerns about contact sport, men’s and women’s games in most sports are completely different so this is not good for women’s sport.

MrsSnippyPants · 05/12/2018 07:51

I wonder what Clare Balding would make of this? She always seems very sensible and is passionate about women’s sport. Doubt she would be willing to speak out though.

AngryAttackKittens · 05/12/2018 07:38

Even an accidental collision with Mouncey could seriously injure the other players.

Igneococcus · 05/12/2018 07:04

Warsaw I played several sports for my school team but my main sport was Volleyball which I played to a very high level. It's not a contact sport as such but even there having men playing changes the game. They are taller, with longer arms, can jump higher, balls are suddenly coming much faster and from different angles, it's not good.

Igneococcus · 05/12/2018 06:55

I'm tall, I'm build like Brienne of Tarth's slightly smaller sister and I would stay out of Mouncey's way. And as far as I know, Mouncey isn't a longtime handball player either, so Mouncey won't have the contact avoiding instincts that you develop when you play a sport from youth on either.
What the fuck is Australia thinking nominating this person for a national team?

Frenchfancy · 05/12/2018 06:52

My Dd plays handball. The European championships are on at the moment. I wonder how many men will be playing.

AngryAttackKittens · 05/12/2018 06:43

I don't think I could tackle Mouncey, even at a full run. I'd just bounce right off.

Warsaw0912 · 05/12/2018 06:39

@Igneococcus totally agree - i play a contact sport - football - at a pretty low level and it completely changes the game if someone so big and tall plays or if we play mixed with men - you will get seriously harmed - body-slammed/ feet crushed/ bruises - if you tackle someone of their size so you just don’t go in for the tackle 🤷🏼‍♀️

Igneococcus · 05/12/2018 06:29

I used to play Handball in the school team and having someone coming at you who is a foot taller than you and much heavier when you are defending at the circle (not sure what that is called in English handball terminology) is bloody frightening.

AngryAttackKittens · 05/12/2018 06:15

Huh, who knew that "fat" now meant "6ft3"?

NotBadConsidering · 05/12/2018 06:11

Yep, according to Hannah’s pinned tweet, it’s only the hormones that matter:

And Hannah retweeted this, apparently without irony:
