Just read the comments - many people think she's "brave", apparently.

But I think my very favourite was "I am non-binary and had a baby this year and I feel you. the language around pregnancy is very cisheteronormative..."

No, you don't say!

This is a very confused person indeed. Early on she says "Not once in my 26 years had I been pregnant and I had planned to keep it that way. Life was hard enough, why add to it?"

But not long afterwards "I knew he’d be happy, we’d discussed having kids and it was something we both wanted…someday."

Mind you, the later paragraph on how "angry" she was when her first husband (a) wasn't all that happy when she "came out" as NB and then later decided he was trans (what are the odds, eh?) suggests a person with a massively self-centred view of the world. In my opinion.

An opinion supported by this bit: "“Motherhood” is a concept that is ruling my life right now, and any masculine traits I might have clung to have just gone out the window completely. It sort of feels like I’m slipping away. I’ve spent the last 6 years building this love for myself based on my identity, and I’m watching it get blown full of holes. I think I’d be in worse shape if I hadn’t anchored myself by building my identity for myself and myself alone."

As others have pointed out, I see she's assigned her child's sex before birth...

Make your mind up, love...

The dissembling disingenuity of the whole piece is breathtaking!

It's just so terrifyingly try-hard and addled in some vain attempt to be different - when actually they are living about the most mundane, average life possible.

The world really is getting stupider, isn't it. I wondered if I was imagining it, but no.

hackmum · 27/11/2018 09:05

This is a really good comment:

Maybe actual LGBT people are just tired of bored heterosexuals acting not only as if they're a part of the community, but the most marginalized members within it. This is a story of a heterosexual woman who married a heterosexual man and got pregnant that is being reframed as something it's not.

No anti-LGBT legislation would ever affect someone like her, nor would she ever have to worry about walking down the street being harassed for holding her husband's hand in public. She will never have to deal with the issues actual LGBT people face every day because her identities have no tangible connection to the real world. It's embarrassing for the advocate to showcase such a banal story as this.

Identifying as pansexual, agender, nonbinary, and trans masculine

Fucking hell who has that much time to spend gazing at their own navel?

If you're pregnant you're female. That's biology, baby.

Some brilliant comments. I love the wine posters trying to seem logical. It just doesn’t work, does it?

WrathofbubonicKlop · 27/11/2018 08:38

Hamilton
Also the author has assumed her unborn baby’s gender.
That bit jumped out at me as well.
So many of us can't imagine ourselves as mums, yet so many of us end up as mums in the end.

I can't think why.Hmm

Maybe if it was twins, a boy and a girl... Now that would be interesting.

Iused2BanOptimist · 27/11/2018 08:36

I suppose it is difficult to adequately teach birth control to people who do not know what sex they are. We can expect more of this I'm sure.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 27/11/2018 08:33

So they have boring old heterosexual PIV sex with their husband and get pregnant. Hmm

Why are these people so desperate to identify as anything? No one gives a flying fuck.

I can't see comments on article? Have they been deleted?

KingLooieCatz · 27/11/2018 08:10

Headline: Intercourse results in pregnancy shocker.

SnuggyBuggy · 27/11/2018 08:02

Definitely that Grin

ILuvBirdsEye · 27/11/2018 07:58

surely it usually takes a few years, rather than a few paragraphs? 🤣

BettyDuMonde · 27/11/2018 07:45

Non-binary adult is angry with mother who assumed they were a girl (due to having a vagina) ends article on their pregnancy by talking about their unborn daughter?

I guess lots of us repeat our parents ‘mistakes’, but surely it usually takes a few years, rather than a few paragraphs?

HamiltonCork · 27/11/2018 07:45

Also the author has assumed her unborn baby’s gender 😂
