So they’re not pro-women then. God forbid you should hurt the feelings of any male by pointing out that they commit nearly all the violence.

Get to fuck, Sophie.

theOtherPamAyres I guess you'll have to go along and weigh it all up. Is branch full of handmaidens or GNCers? How is power displayed within group? - such as does one person talk more than others or are some people's ideas always agreed upon/pandered to. What are the local issues, what's missing or over done....finally take some of those toothy looking cakes along, THEY ARE BLOODY FAB Grin

BubonicTheHedgehag · 27/11/2018 23:57

Brilliant photo and cake, stealthsquirrelnutkin! (Marvellous image, hope it's a cake, anyway...!) Love it!

I'd be delighted to join and support a Women's Liberation Party, would be happy to do a monthly direct debit at the moment, and provide practical support too.

So long as all decisions, policy etc are made by women. Women. Not men.

stealthsquirrelnutkin · 27/11/2018 15:29

Does anyone have an estimate of how much it would cost to set up a political party in the UK specifically to protect those members of the population with XX chromosomes? I'd happily set up a £10/month direct debit to see it come into being.

I don't suppose we'd be allowed to register the Cunty Women's Liberation Party, but perhaps XX Women's Liberation Party would be OK?

How about this as a party logo?

What in the holy name of fuck (WEP)
theOtherPamAyres · 27/11/2018 15:14

For anyone who did that - are you making any headway at local level or does it still vary enormously one branch from another?

I've had a set back. The person who runs the local party, and who attends meetings at adjacent branches too, is trans.

I'm still pondering the tactics for my first meeting. Any advice would be appreciated!

MrsWinkly · 27/11/2018 14:42

I'm desperate for a woman I believe in to vote for.
I'd vote for any of you.
'WEP,' what a misnomer that is.

Cautionescalator · 27/11/2018 14:30

Does any one know who the helpful TW is going around helping women set uP WEP branches- I’m not tryin to doxx or pursue- I’m an WEP active member and would be helpful

TheHarpySings · 27/11/2018 14:28

Some people are making progress at a local level to take the WEP in a direction that actually centres women and girls. But it takes time- a lot of us are new to political involvement and the TRAs have had a head start

AngryAttackKittens · 27/11/2018 10:45

I'll join if our first campaign can be disbanding every bloody police force in Yorkshire.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 27/11/2018 10:33

I would vote for, join and donate to a women's lib party that understood what a woman is and had some ovaries when it came to standing up and speaking out for us

AdinaVerbina · 27/11/2018 10:15

I'll join a Women's Liberation Party. I'll run for office. I'm there.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 27/11/2018 10:02

They might as well just call themselves the "Shut Up Women" party.
Well done WEP, you've completely alienated the only people who might have voted for you.
If someone starts a Womens Liberation party, I'll vote for them. I might even join, and I normally avoid politics.

arranbubonicplague · 27/11/2018 09:31

Backstory, I left WEP after their summary treatment of Heather Brunskell-Evans and their lack of due process.

I know a number of people here joined WEP after the conference with a determination to change things from the inside - a choice that I respect.

For anyone who did that - are you making any headway at local level or does it still vary enormously one branch from another?

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 27/11/2018 09:18

What you're looking at is successful infiltration

There's a lot of it about. The entire female population needs to do the freedom programme and reflect on the shark cage

EverardDigby · 27/11/2018 07:38

That is unbelievable. WEP nationally could do something about this though, interesting to see whether or not they will....

AngryAttackKittens · 27/11/2018 07:31

What you're looking at is successful infiltration. Take note, other organizations, and don't let the same happen to you.

53rdWay · 27/11/2018 07:03

Ah, but if we abolish gender then we wouldn’t be able to use ‘you’re hurting men’s feelings’ to tell women to shut up about the realities of their lives, and that would be terribly inconvenient.

Funkyfunkybeat12 · 27/11/2018 06:48

I think the thing that really got me was when they said it’s not the WEP’s aim to abolish gender. Gender is what keeps women oppressed. The party that stands for women now says they’re cool with it. Isn’t that just fantastic.

This is one for the history books. How a women's party was brainwashed into believing male violence is unmentionable. How did this happen?

kooshbin · 27/11/2018 01:11

How can a party that was only formed in early 2015, that's just three-and-a-half years ago, have gone so wrong?

A party set up for women. But a rape victim gets silenced.

  • "My rapist didn't ask how I identified, he knew my sex."
  • "...may we suggest you rethink your out-of-keeping words..."

All the sympathy is for the hurt feelings of transwomen.

Of course that predatory man knew the sex of his victim. And that would have been the case whatever the victim was wearing. Just as women can tell the sex of another person in the ladies loo. (Very few transwoman pass as female, no matter what they like to think.) The whole evolutionary process has equipped us to differentiate. It's basic biology.

Yet a party, originally set up to promote women's causes, has seemingly, in a very short time, ditched everything, the social and the science, to foreground an entirely different group of people. And then expects women to shut up.

Socrates11 · 27/11/2018 00:03

Yes Bubonic, yes to a Women's Liberation Party!

DancelikeEmmaGoldman · 26/11/2018 23:42

AngryAttackKittens, yep.

The young always assume their elders are idiots, but the middle-aged male transitioners seem to frequently follow the usual male socialisation, which ignores older women on the grounds they are neither fecund nor fuckable. Funny that.

pombear · 26/11/2018 23:42

Carol, I get your need to be affirmed in the sex of your choosing, but this isn't really doing great stuff for the women who just 'are' of the sex of your choice.

transfigurations.org.uk/

Women's Equality Party was meant to represent women, and the challenges they face.

I get you face issues too, which sometimes may feel similar to those of women. But you need your own party, don't coopt other ones in your fight.

AngryAttackKittens · 26/11/2018 23:38

Honestly, most gender true believers have made it quite clear that they consider women, especially older women, to be destined by nature for the Boxer role. Shut up, do all the shit work, get sent to the knackers yard the moment you're no longer useful.

BubonicTheHedgehag · 26/11/2018 23:38

What we need is a Women's Liberation Party, not a Women's Bloody Equality Party.

Women's Equality? You mean, women should strive to equal men in patterns and perpetration of violence, for example?!
