Badley Fuckitt Welcomes Careful Drivers

That's where I want to live right now. Home of the Bluestocking pub and the Shady Pines, the favoured retirement home of gin-swilling, cantankerous elderly gender crit feminists. It's like that village in the Dales which dodged the bubonic plague and is a haven from PoMo fuckwittery. Anyone else in?

Wrath, the password on our end is liberty. Do keep it quiet, though, because I wouldn't want it overheard by the toothless bloke who generously offered me a sip of his peppermint schnapps (not a euphemism) the last time I went to Tesco during my time in your green and pleasant land.

Fermats that's you booked for October, then, in the Karen Uhlenbeck suite. Leaf-peeping abounds in autumn in New Fuckitt, and I'm sure you will enjoy our harvest festival. Hope you can stay for Halloween; it's quite the party around here. The local coven leads us in dance, and costumes are very creative. No horror masks like Trump or BoJo allowed.

There are a few rooms left for last-minute visits this month. August is the time for clambakes on the beach. We prepare local clams, lobster, scallops, corn, little red potatoes and bottomless lemonade or Bloody Mary pitchers as the mood strikes. Then it's time for a nap in the sea breeze or a swim in the gentle waves. We throw on our most comfortable bathing suits without a care for how our bodies might look in them, and it would never occur to anyone to sit out the fun due to unshaven/waxed parts exposed.

ChattyLion · 10/08/2019 12:28

Just firing up the BBQ over on the river beach..

FermatsTheorem · 10/08/2019 11:02

TurboTeddy there are rooms upstairs at the Blue Stocking. And unlike your average pub, the ceiling of the communal areas is properly soundproofed, so even if the locals get a bit lairy after a few too many of their chosen tipple (Big Barb of the Anderson shelter is partial to a port and lemon or ten, I believe), you will still be guaranteed a good night's sleep.

Grintch - that's one of my favourite Abigail Adams' quotes! I like the sound of New Fuckitt. Is it by any chance one of those places which would be particularly appealing to visit in the Fall when all the leaves are turning? If so, may I make my reservation at the Abigail now?

Badley Fuckitt is just so

Lovely phrase

boatyardblues · 10/08/2019 10:19

If you need me, I’ll be floating on an inner tube at the bend in the river, and I’ve got a bottle of Albariño cooling in the water, tethered with a string to my inner tube so I can haul it up from time to time to top up.

This is such an appealing scenario I’m about to change out of my PJ and head down to my nearest Tesco Metro to nip through the portal.

The microclimate in Badley Fuckitt is just so to accommodate the needs of our peri/menopausal residents. Lots of loose fitting linen in the village boutique too.

BF has its own microclimate. This may be attributable to there being less hot air vented into its atmosphere.

WrathofSWhlttleKIop · 10/08/2019 08:48

Its very wet and windy here.
Hope the weather is calmer on the river than it is here.

SophoclesTheFox · 10/08/2019 08:41

Ah, I missed Badley Fuckitt the first time round. Just what I wanted!

SDTG
If you can knit, you will be in special demand. I think someone upthread had set up a wool shop.
Or did just I imagine that

Grinitch
Too early on a Saturday morning to google that at the moment. Shock

In the closet organisation section in Target you say?
I'll be standing in Tesco's directing people over.

The password our end is 'Tarshaaay', say it as if you are posh French.

We'll instruct our lot to keep our voices low, we don't want any interlopers sneeking in to New Fuckitt.

GrinitchSpinach · 10/08/2019 00:29

Any idea where the portal to NF would be hidden?

psst It's at Target, in the Closet Organization aisle. But whatever you do, don't go into the changing rooms there! (google Target voyeur changing room if you want 1,000,000 reasons why)

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 10/08/2019 00:21

Is there room for someone who knits and has no patience with fuckwittery?

WrathofSWhlttleKIop · 10/08/2019 00:17

Errol
Amazing.

WrathofSWhlttleKIop · 10/08/2019 00:15

New Fuckitt twinned with Badley Fuckitt.
We can have exchange trips via the portal.

Our portal is in the biscuit aisle in Tesco's, it takes us straight to BF.

Any idea where the portal to NF would be hidden?

boatyardblues · 10/08/2019 00:10

Oh yeah. I did mention the Bluestocking in my OP. Blush As you were.

OP posts:
ErrolTheDragon · 10/08/2019 00:08

I assumed the Bluestocking was in Bradley fuckett

That's what it says on the entrance notice.
The bluestocking has been very quiet of late. I'm not sure if it's empty or people are just drinking in silence.

The donkeys probably wouldn't mind the horse sharing their paddock btw.

GrinitchSpinach · 10/08/2019 00:05

Checking in from Stateside in New Fuckitt.

We have lovely Federal architecture here, and our local is the Abigail Adams, where we sip small-batch bourbon and make artisanal letterpress copies of our namesake's famous letter to her husband (a future American President, much good that it did her):

...and by the way in the new Code of Laws which I suppose it will be necessary for you to make I desire you would Remember the Ladies, and be more generous and favourable to them than your ancestors. Do not put such unlimited power into the hands of the Husbands. Remember all Men would be tyrants if they could. If perticular care and attention is not paid to the Laidies we are determined to foment a Rebelion, and will not hold ourselves bound by any Laws in which we have no voice, or Representation.

It's been a while Grin

I assumed the Bluestocking was in Bradley fuckett. I must be lost...

WrathofSWhlttleKIop · 09/08/2019 23:58

Apocalyptic
Yes we definitely need an HCP now and again, of course, nobody works full time here.
Unless they want to. Smile

You might be over seeing the supply of HRT.
The women here that need it, will be especially grateful.

As the GC word is getting out, Badley Fuckitt is a lovely place to relax.

We can talk about what we like, no woman gets blocked in BF.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/08/2019 23:43

Of course you can bring your horse.

Please can you start a pile of its manure rotting down for the many gardens of the village?

Apocalyptichorsewoman · 09/08/2019 23:17

Can I come too and bring my horse? I could also do some HCP work in the Badley Fuckitt Health centre? 😁

TurboTeddy · 09/08/2019 23:11

Excellent, I have expensive tastes in some things but chocolate is not one of them. What's a snickers anyway!

boatyardblues · 09/08/2019 23:08

Also does anyone have seriously immodest quantities of chocolate?

The village’s resident hoarder ‘Bags Barb’ has a well stocked Andersen shelter at the bottom of her garden (she started it during the 80s after reading Raymond Briggs’ When the Wind Blows but says she’s keeping it topped up for the coming Brexit apocalypse). She’s very warm hearted and generous. I’m sure she could sort you out, though it might be more vintage Marathon bars than Hotel Chocolat. Wink
