That's where I want to live right now. Home of the Bluestocking pub and the Shady Pines, the favoured retirement home of gin-swilling, cantankerous elderly gender crit feminists. It's like that village in the Dales which dodged the bubonic plague and is a haven from PoMo fuckwittery. Anyone else in?

Ooh ooh very happy with the thought of a wool studio.
I just realised I have another useful talent which is plumbing (DIY obvs but I could train up). Love a bit of drain unblocking

MrsWinkly · 29/11/2018 08:33

This thread has made me laugh so much.
Upstart, a pink pussy balaclava is something I want to make now Grin
Wrath, There's a danger one might look like a knob GrinGrinGrin
Chatty, pop-up is inspired and I could join you at the hairdressers. In the absence of clippers I can do a bowl cut or, if you're really unlucky, plate. When I've occasionally frequently given the DS's a bad haircut I just tell them they're trendsetters cos I'm sure it's fashionable somewhere.

WrathofbubonicKlop · 28/11/2018 23:10

Chatty
Really sharp scissors, sharpened pencils and a scalpel
You are very well equipped, you could join the perimeter patrol.

ChattyLion · 28/11/2018 22:55

i’ll happily woman the late night cafe because I am a crap sleeper.

I also offer enthusiastic but mostly untrained hair cutting.. the logical conclusion of my deep appreciation of a really sharp pair of scissors.

In the daytime i’ll keep the stationer’s with a really satisfying stock of lined and squared notebooks, super sharpened pencils and very smooth writing fountain pens that don’t leak.

I’ll have card, scalpels and rubber mats and a big table for anyone who wants to help make stencils for the banners or card cut-outs for gender-critical postcard campaigns. I can see a pop up Wink line might be impactful. Grin

I might go modern and instal a custom sticker-printing and personalised label setup in the back for anyone who’s heading back into town or somewhere where a little stash of stickers might be useful..

WrathofbubonicKlop · 28/11/2018 22:37

Upstart
Pink pussy hat balaclavas

That would look very strange.
There's a danger one might look like a knobGrin

Very original though.

HalloumiGus · 28/11/2018 22:29

Packing my suitcase and pondering my transferable skills. I'll think about it overnight.

UpstartCrow · 28/11/2018 22:07

What about pink pussy hat balaclavas? As long as they aren't itchy.

MrsWinkly · 28/11/2018 21:32

welshgendercrit · 28/11/2018 21:01

I must confess, my balaclavas are a bit hazardous. I'm never really sure where to put the face hole so vision and breathing is a bonus, hearing is a no-no and tripping is standard.

Grin Grin Grin

Three that made me splutter tea all over my keyboard. Smashing post. Grin

R0wantrees · 28/11/2018 20:17

WrathofbubonicKlop, thank you am honoured.
Its a bit hit and miss though.
Passwords not so good.
There may be others better trusted!

WrathofbubonicKlop · 28/11/2018 20:14

Graham Lineham and Johnny Best
They would be most welcome.
David TC Davies as well.

FermatsTheorem · 28/11/2018 20:06

Signing up for Bowl's science lectures too.

R0wantrees · 28/11/2018 19:30

Surely Graham Linehan first?

Or Jonny Best, he's very talented too?

R0wantrees · 28/11/2018 19:29

Special guest man hour, once a day.
Ricky Gervais maybe.

Surely Graham Linehan first?

MrsWinkly · 28/11/2018 19:25

I'm in. Love a bit of gardening.

ErrolTheDragon · 28/11/2018 19:22

Another thread has reminded me, who's up for making hanging baskets and tubs for the hall in suffragette colours - lots of nice violet and white pansies, with some trailing ivy for starters?

MrsWinkly · 28/11/2018 19:21

Ah welsh, I think we might be creating a warm, woolly Utopia.
boatyard, Mrs Unabomber GrinGrinGrin That conveys it nicely! They make anyone look a bit menacing...

Vicky, maybe we could patrol the perimeter in balaclavas and socks? Grin

I must confess, my balaclavas are a bit hazardous. I'm never really sure where to put the face hole so vision and breathing is a bonus, hearing is a no-no and tripping is standard.

Yes to the sub, patrolling the waters and ready to blast the unedited Vagina Monologues over the tannoy at intruders.
For the law and order element, I'd like Melissa McCarthy in The Heat. She'd be the perfect police chief.
And Wrath, lovely - Woman's Day every day on the radio with Jenni Murray. I love her voice.
Sandy, you should be the resident artist Smile

boatyardblues · 28/11/2018 19:20

Actually, it would be great to see Sandberg and Lisa Muggeridge on the same platform.

We need some suggestions for invited speakers for our regular lecture series. I’d quite like get Sheryl Sandberg along for an exploration of how easy she thinks it is to ‘lean in’ when you aren’t insulated by mountains of moolah and a minted spouse. I think we could have a lively debate at the Germaine Bunbury Memorial Hall.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed there will be some sort of informal knowledge-skills-talent sharing.

In anticipation (and rather cheekily), I'd like to put my name down for possible science with Bowl, cello lessons, goat wifery (husbandry didn't seem apprpriate) and the art of cartoon drawing with Sandy. So much more that's tempting as there's an embarrassment of riches here but am hoping to learn allsorts of wonderful, useful and exciting things! Smile

VickyEadie · 28/11/2018 18:44

I'm also willing to join the 'patrolling the perimeter with a sharpened stick' force.

VickyEadie · 28/11/2018 18:43

SandyDrawsBadly

Saw your name as the last poster on this thread and hurried over to see if you'd graced us with a drawing of Badly Fuckitt...

SandyDrawsBadly · 28/11/2018 18:37

And maybe a small shop selling greetings cards and tea towels that you can bring home for your mum.

SandyDrawsBadly · 28/11/2018 18:36

This sounds like the perfect village to set up a small art studio.

boatyardblues · 28/11/2018 17:58

We had to buy balaclavas for a winter sports trips. I made the kids try them on in the shop for size as we are all large of noggin. We thought we looked funny and took a photo, then texted DH our group selfie. He said we looked like Mrs Unabomber plus family and was a bit perturbed. Grin
